  2. I mentioned Campbell, but noticed later it was at the combine.

    Team notes

Interesting there’s so few reported. There’s really only a little over a week left. Last week before the draft is finalizing the board and gaming various mocks.
  4. I think you’re misreading that. All I said is I’d prefer Hampton over Warren. Given the full spectrum of options I’d take neither at 10.
  5. Monday Dane Brugler going to be on Barstool podcast with Greg Gabriel, it's live so should be interesting . I think 11 or 12 , not sure the hours are screwed up over here.
  6. Dane Brugler, who publishes "The Beast" Draft Guide every year has Banks listed as OG2 after Tyler Booker. Even though he played OT, Brugler projects him as a Guard. I thought that was interesting.
  7. Seems pretty much like every year. Who had Penix going at 7 to AtL last year? This is why Round 1 has become must see TV for diehard fans.
  8. My skip to the second round prediction is Kenneth Grant...
  9. Same with me. I'm glad to have brothers to keep me in check. Especially when rum is involved...🍻
  10. Tice mentioned both Membou and Banks. He said if Simmons didn't get hurt he would have been the top rated LT but of course, he did.
  11. So far 11 top 30 reported. Jeanty is the only first round pick. 4 OL no 1st round type, Conerly and Savaiinaea the only bigger names. I have seen Campbell reported but not sure that has been verified. Lemmings is pretty on top of things. I heard they had 2 zoom calls with a couple but want to see it verified first. Warren has not had a visit yet and seen that reported.
  12. Sanborn has a great work ethic. Hes tough, plays downhill, makes tackles. He's a "Rudy." Reminds me of Hunter Hillenmeyer or Nick Kwiatkowski. Great effort players, but too slow to play coverage. I think Allen requires that all his LBers be able to play coverage.
  13. Yes. I agree. I think that Ersery and Conerly are both better than Membou. Simmons is injured, so who knows where someone will pick him. I worry that the best name at OT by pick 39 will be Grant from W&M and he does not deserve to be a high 2nd round pick. *IF* youre someone who thinks we need a LT this year, it drops off fast.
  14. I'm trying to find the list, they had 40 prospects in today with the local label on them. https://www.youtube.com/live/D_mkjGOvJns?si=KEnMOc2LwZouOLiC
  15. They signed Bozeman early this year, they must think he's a better fit than Sanborn, they clearly let him walk.
  16. Mike Tice rates Conerly one of the top LT prospects in the draft and will go higher than early 2nd his kid was saying.
  17. That was dumb, it won't be the last time I do that.
  18. It doesn't have to be, but if you draft someone like Barkley or Bjan Robinson you probably are going to have the offense runs thru him, at least he will be the focus of the offense. Johnson clearly stated he wants the offense to run thru Caleb. KC offense runs thru the QB but likes a good running game for balance. I think Johnson looks at it the same way. He uses a 2 back system to keep the defense off balance with Monty and Gibbs but wants Caleb to be his focus. Philly had the advantage of a good passing offense and great OL, when they added Barkley. A quality defense helps. Do we have the team yet to add the final piece as Philly did last year? Not quite there yet. I've been looking at RBs today and there are a lot of good ones that could be starting backs for many teams. The great depth at RB this year will figure into when the bears take a RB. Actually none of that matters, Jeanty won't be there at 10 anyways.
  19. Because of only a small number of blue players, this year's draft is going to be wildly different that what people predict. There will be 4 or 5 players taken in the first round no one expected. Some slip to the second that was rated higher.
  20. Just to make the point - the oddsmakers set the odds to reflect what the crowd thinks about each player. They want to get even money all around so they win no matter what happens. And the crowd of bettors does usually know something, but in this bet, media narratives are figured in because they affect the bettors' points of view.
  21. so interesting. I dont love Campbell but id take him over Membou any day. membou is an athlete, but he doesnt finish, hearts not in it etc to my eye. I can understand the love for Campbell more than for Membou, at least at OT. I would take Ersery over Membou any day. Everyone sees it differently I guess.
  22. Nate Tice on Hoge and Jahns was a good listen - spent a lot of time on oline candidates. Mike also has had some good content recently. Much of it aligns to what a few of you have been saying about Banks being a better LT candidate than Campbell - but a lot of love for Membou.
  23. I think one of the big misses might be Connelly here. A lot of helium with him - stick to him or Simmons are best LT prospects in draft - but with risk. If Bears want one of them - they can move down but given premium on tackle I can see them going earlier than expected.
  24. Thought it was interesting to see where the books have the draft odds starting with the highest names tied to the Bears and than on down. NFL Draft position Over/Unders: Mason Graham (5.5) Will Campbell (5.5) Armand Membou (6.5) Sanders (8.5) Jalon Walker (8.5) Ashton Jeanty (9.5) Tyler Warren (9.5) Will Johnson (11.5) Mikel Williams (15.5) JihadCampbell (15.5) Tetairoa McMillan (17.5) Matthew Golden (17.5) Mike Green (17.5) Jayden Barron (18.5) Banks Jr. (18.5) Colston Loveland (19.5) Omarion Hampton (19.5) Jaxson Dart (24.5) Emeka Egbuka (29.5)
  25. Yeah I agree. If you have a total stud it is harder because they can do it all. It is when they are one dimensional that it makes it easier on the D. I do agree you don’t want to have just one back - but having a top 5 running back is a real good thing and helps the offense, defense, oline and qb. I say it helps defense because time of possession and rest that comes from a back who can control the clock helps the defense too.
  26. This is an utterly ridiculous statement. Jeanty is a problem, just as Saquan Barkley. When a back is so good you have to gameplan against every play, it's far more valuable than platoon guys. It's literally the opposite of what makes sense.
