  2. I agree that Loveland is too early at 10, but hes a pretty good player. Id prefer him over Tyler Warren, just because they are different types of players. Loveland is much more like LaPorta.
  3. Here's where I'm at one week out: Guys I don't think will be there but I'm starting to think there's a chance and I would run up to the podium to draft: Ashton Jeanty, Mason Graham Guys I don't think will be there but if he is, I would like to believe someone would trade up for instead of reluctantly taking him: Tyler Warren, Jalon Walker, Will Campbell Guys I would be the most happy to see drafted at #10: Mykel Williams, Kelvin Banks, Derrick Harmon Guys I just don't want at #10: Shemar Stewart, Colston Loveland, Mike Green, Josh Simmons
  4. Correct and the pundits will still criticize the “reach”.
  5. For sure we disagree. I see him chasing from behind when routes go downfield. Love him within 10 yards of the LOS. If our pass rush is good enough we don’t have to worry about double moves on routes from RBs then he’s good. Staying in phase with RBs downfield was something Roquan was good at.

  7. If you believe in a player, and they are ranked 17 on your board, and you take them at 10 because none of the players from 10 to 17 fit your needs, its not really a reach to take him. Personally, I have Banks ranked a lot higher, and I fear so do other teams in the top 10.
  8. KJ has that too, and hes faster. my biggest concern with KJ is that on pretty much every play Ive seen, his blocking was immaculate. You gotta love the way KJ runs forward, and hits the hole fast, and is able to cut and shift without losing any forward momentum (contrast with Hampton who needs three steps to cut!) but if Im being honest, I dont know how KJ looks without blocking. I can look to his contact balance when he gets hit, which is excellent, and his quick decisions and vision as positive traits. But Iowas OL did a really good job.
  9. Saw one video last night where one draftnik said he had nearly the same grades on players from 8 to 40. At that point BPA just becomes team need.
  10. Even without quitting Edmunds has failed to live up to his massive potential, both here and in Buffalo. He has this year to show otherwise in a new scheme, but he is on a prove it or lose it probation. Im not betting against him, but he has to show it this year.

I think ideally we get someone who can do it all including pass pro so the whole playbook is open when they are on the field. Overlooked by most is the fact Johnson liked David Montgomery who had no elite traits. While he was a cast off from the Bears Johnson managed to put up 30 plus points per game with him. Who in this draft in draft has similar traits? Jeanty for sure with more speed but there are others.
  12. Clay Harbor was on the score said the Bears could go Banks. He doesn't understand the non love he is getting. He won the outland trophy, only missed a game or two his whole college career, would be better than Braxton out the gate. But his projection is 15-20, so do the Bears reach. He favors adding a TE and even said don't be surprised to see the Bears draft RB#2 at 10.
  13. I don't have a problem if we get Banks, I just don't think they are going to draft a OT in the first round. Now if they trade down, I think the attention they have given to Conerly makes him more likely to be a Bear. Everything is projection, with only 6 blue players in the draft 10-50 could be drastically different than people are predicting. The teams don't have a single big board exactly the same.
  14. I agree with that. Players like Judkins, KJ, can compliment him and get a larger role in the future. There are 30 draftable RBs and probably 4 go in first 2 rounds, we will get a good one.
  15. Last year was a shit show, everyone gets a fresh start with new coaches. Lots of people quit last year.
  16. Yes, on the contract details. I'm confused on your concern with this signing. He's our leading tackler and covers the area you say he's too slow for. As far as Edmunds is concerned; I would bring him in for a pay cut or outright cut. He quit on the team last year, so that showed the football world his character.
  17. I think they are putting together a team that will have chemistry for several years. SO from that point of view, they could get swifts replacement this year even if they wait until next year to cut him - especially if its only a rookie contract.
  18. Any player addition now on defense is with DAs blessing.i don't know that much about DAs to say who is and isn't going to be effective. If we go by value, he was the best signing Poles has made since he's been here.
  19. Swift will succeed in a Johnson offense, he's not a star but because of his contract, he's not going to be discarded. Someone like Judkins could be effective and a load back if they wanted to do that with 4.48 speed. When his contract is over he will be gone but the star of this offense has to be Caleb. I think if any of the blue players drop, we will take one and that could be Jeanty. I won't complain but don't think he makes it to 10. The AZ members should have a better read than me but I like Skattebo. Not a speedy guy but a punishing slippy runner.
  20. me too. Swift is good, better than a lot of backs, but he's not good enough to dominate.

I’m very confident we’re not building around Swift which is exactly why we don’t need two of that type of RB.
  22. Wow...never thought he'd get that much money.... 2yr $20mil. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2025/4/16/24410177/chicago-bears-roster-tj-edwards-extension-2026-nfl-free-agency Estimating a $10mil cap hit/yr puts us at $44mil in cap space for 2026 with 30 players on the roster according to OTC. Cutting Edmunds gets us back to $59mil in cap space. I expect Thuney gets a big chunk but we can still have some fun next offseason. The question is does LT also get a big chunk?
  23. If we draft Banks I'm betting we trade Braxton. I don't think we'd get anything in this years draft because of his injury. It likely wouldn't even be a trade until he's healthy in camp and showing it in preseason. Kiran has too much potential and should be good enough this year to be our swing OT. Braxton would not look good at all at RT. Maybe the team that drafts Will Campbell finds out in camp they need a LT?
  24. Have you seen the contract details? I'm surprised by this. Edwards is too slow to cover on the boundary so this makes me wonder if the plan is to move him inside...that's if Allen doesn't care about a MLB who can cover the deep middle. I can't say I know anything about his scheme other than what's said here I just find this a curious move for an aging but still decent LB. He's not going to get faster after he turns 30. The plan here would be to cut Edmunds and draft his replacement, or sign a value FA. Veterans want to play for us now.
  25. It just depends on how you move i think. Thats why watching them play football is the best measure. If your feet are a little better then your arm length can be a little shorter etc. Longer is better of course, but it isnt the only thing. I see it that way too - pretty strongly, but if both are on the board and the bears take Campbell, I'll be willing to see if they were right, and rooting for him of course. I just honestly believe they see the same thing I see, which scares me about other teams taking Membou or Campbell first - they see the tape too.
  26. I always wanted Edmunds to play the Urlacher role as long as we were playing cover 2, but I saw Flus always had him at even depth with Edmunds. Like a perfect zone on a chalkboard - which only works for feeble minds like Flus'. I don't think they used him well at all. So I have hope that in the new scheme he will thrive. I wanted us to draft him over Roquan that year. He has all the tools, but he has to prove it on the field, cuz his production has been awful. There's reason for hope this year for Edmunds, but he hasnt shown it yet, so it's on him to step up, or move on after this year.
