  1. Past hour
  2. He's just an all around good player, imo.
  3. Which in my post I alluded to the fact this contract makes that something I expect Dennis Allen to do with TJ.
  4. Yesterday
  5. It was talked about on the score this afternoon. Not sure if Clay Harbor was in on that but he was on to talk draft.
  6. I’ve heard TreVeon Henderson is very good as well.
  7. I'd like to read the article. Do you have source or link?
  8. The talk is to move Edward's to Mike and Edmunds to Will. Edmunds may not like it, but his size and athleticism are better for coverage (that Will LBs do more in Allen's D). As for drafting someone high to be the 3rd LB to replace Sanborn, it's not a priority in a D that is in Nickel 60%. They will use a 7th rd pick to get a backer like Nick Martin, Oklahoma St who can blitz. Kyler Gordon will see more time on the field being that CB/S/LB making plays like CJ Gardner-Johnson.
  9. If one of the main criterias of a RB is pass blocking, then LeQuint Allen is your guy . Draft Buzz has him rated by far the best pass blocker.
  10. its as if the best thing you could do would be to get a 4th round level pick in the 7th round. And while that IS good, it's still a 4th round pick. The best thing you can do is to put studs in positions where they can help you, and if that means taking a 17th pick guy at pick 10 because your next pick isnt until 39, then you do it. But I dont see Banks as a 17th pick anyway. I hope he is still there at 10.
  11. OLB's aren't meant to cover RB's downfield for very long without safety help. Using Roquan as an example is a little off since he's the ILB, with the primary responsibility of the inline TE. Varied schemes and coverage can be an outlier in responsibility.
  12. I agree that Loveland is too early at 10, but hes a pretty good player. Id prefer him over Tyler Warren, just because they are different types of players. Loveland is much more like LaPorta.
  13. Here's where I'm at one week out: Guys I don't think will be there but I'm starting to think there's a chance and I would run up to the podium to draft: Ashton Jeanty, Mason Graham Guys I don't think will be there but if he is, I would like to believe someone would trade up for instead of reluctantly taking him: Tyler Warren, Jalon Walker, Will Campbell Guys I would be the most happy to see drafted at #10: Mykel Williams, Kelvin Banks, Derrick Harmon Guys I just don't want at #10: Shemar Stewart, Colston Loveland, Mike Green, Josh Simmons
  14. Correct and the pundits will still criticize the “reach”.
  15. For sure we disagree. I see him chasing from behind when routes go downfield. Love him within 10 yards of the LOS. If our pass rush is good enough we don’t have to worry about double moves on routes from RBs then he’s good. Staying in phase with RBs downfield was something Roquan was good at.
  16. If you believe in a player, and they are ranked 17 on your board, and you take them at 10 because none of the players from 10 to 17 fit your needs, its not really a reach to take him. Personally, I have Banks ranked a lot higher, and I fear so do other teams in the top 10.
  17. KJ has that too, and hes faster. my biggest concern with KJ is that on pretty much every play Ive seen, his blocking was immaculate. You gotta love the way KJ runs forward, and hits the hole fast, and is able to cut and shift without losing any forward momentum (contrast with Hampton who needs three steps to cut!) but if Im being honest, I dont know how KJ looks without blocking. I can look to his contact balance when he gets hit, which is excellent, and his quick decisions and vision as positive traits. But Iowas OL did a really good job.
  18. Saw one video last night where one draftnik said he had nearly the same grades on players from 8 to 40. At that point BPA just becomes team need.
  19. Even without quitting Edmunds has failed to live up to his massive potential, both here and in Buffalo. He has this year to show otherwise in a new scheme, but he is on a prove it or lose it probation. Im not betting against him, but he has to show it this year.

    Team notes

I think ideally we get someone who can do it all including pass pro so the whole playbook is open when they are on the field. Overlooked by most is the fact Johnson liked David Montgomery who had no elite traits. While he was a cast off from the Bears Johnson managed to put up 30 plus points per game with him. Who in this draft in draft has similar traits? Jeanty for sure with more speed but there are others.
  21. Clay Harbor was on the score said the Bears could go Banks. He doesn't understand the non love he is getting. He won the outland trophy, only missed a game or two his whole college career, would be better than Braxton out the gate. But his projection is 15-20, so do the Bears reach. He favors adding a TE and even said don't be surprised to see the Bears draft RB#2 at 10.
  22. I don't have a problem if we get Banks, I just don't think they are going to draft a OT in the first round. Now if they trade down, I think the attention they have given to Conerly makes him more likely to be a Bear. Everything is projection, with only 6 blue players in the draft 10-50 could be drastically different than people are predicting. The teams don't have a single big board exactly the same.
  23. I agree with that. Players like Judkins, KJ, can compliment him and get a larger role in the future. There are 30 draftable RBs and probably 4 go in first 2 rounds, we will get a good one.
  24. Last year was a shit show, everyone gets a fresh start with new coaches. Lots of people quit last year.
  25. Yes, on the contract details. I'm confused on your concern with this signing. He's our leading tackler and covers the area you say he's too slow for. As far as Edmunds is concerned; I would bring him in for a pay cut or outright cut. He quit on the team last year, so that showed the football world his character.
  26. I think they are putting together a team that will have chemistry for several years. SO from that point of view, they could get swifts replacement this year even if they wait until next year to cut him - especially if its only a rookie contract.
  27. Any player addition now on defense is with DAs blessing.i don't know that much about DAs to say who is and isn't going to be effective. If we go by value, he was the best signing Poles has made since he's been here.
