I might add the surprise name of WR Tetairoa McMillan to that list too. I could imagine Johnson doing amazing things with him. I wont predict it, but he is a dark horse, and has enough skill to make the list I think. And of course I assume we are leaving guys like Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter out of the conversation because they will never be there at 10... Your point about the depth of the draft is a good one too, pointing back to Banks. That's also part of why I think if Banks is there at 10, we will take him. Im on the record with this one firm prediction now. If Im wrong about it, then you all can call me out later! If Banks is gone though, then Im off the hook LOL
-
The 3 options are Jentry, Warren, or Banks, imo. Jentry and Warren are exra point adds... Banks increases every offensive players EPA. If they feel another RB or TE with a close EPA can be had later, they take Banks.
-
OK, Im gonna go on the record with this prediction: If Banks is there at pick 10, we will take him.
-
Nolen, maybe. Grant, no. The equivalent can be had at 30 for Grant. Not special...
-
I think they think they have LT covered with the upgrade of the IOL. They will bring in a Conerly or Grant to develop behind Braxton and Kiran but not at 10. They are drafting speed somewhere first.
-
I think who ever we add at 10 or trade back will have speed. Both Johnson and Allen love speed. Having said that, James Pierce, Matthew Golden becomes relevant. If Warren or Jeanty is there, very possible. I have never considered Jalon Walker as a possibility but he could be used as a pass rusher makes it possible. 4.50 speed for a LB is great. I think they go for Kenneth Grant or Nolen but have blacked off. I think it's very interesting that no one has a clue as to who we take. I don't think it's a LT .
-
I think Banks would be a much better option at 10 than any of the other 3.

Five Current Bears Who May Determine Bears' Draft Plans

We don't need me me me players on the team. Poles like of quality characters does have its advantages. - Yesterday

He's an elite mouth and athlete...

George Pickens is an elite mouth, not an elite athlete.

Ben Johnson brought in a new metric for the Bears to use when grading players, EPA. Extra Points Added. I heard they see 3 tiers. 1-10, 11-27, 28-70. Poles has his premiere position philosophy for drafting, but he hasn't reached to fill that either since GM. His order, QB, OT, DE, CB.

I'm an interview, Johnson stated that Dennis Allen told him that Tyler Warren is gonna be a problem. Johnson went into detail beyond that...

Five Current Bears Who May Determine Bears' Draft Plans

Its a good point. We do need to bring in some personalities at times, and the McCaskeys have been afraid of that. I do think that we made the right decision on Carter, but what youre saying is also right. Now that we have a real coaching staff, maybe we can keep a couple guys in line who have talent and troubled egos. You wouldnt want to pass on Deion Sanders, Randy Moss or Ray Lewis just because they might swear on Hard Knocks. Hopefully we are building a team that can handle more than the Trestman/Nagy/Eberflus approach in the future. -

Now do WR George Pickens... As long as the McKaskeys are owners, the Bears will walk the fine line with character. They might be called the Monsters but they are the loveable cartoon ones. I'll add the Bears took Gordon and Brisker ahead of Pickens, then in the 3rd took Velus "V12" Jones Jr. - Last week

Five Current Bears Who May Determine Bears' Draft Plans

Everyone knew Carter would be great. The question was whether he would get into trouble, become a locker room cancer. In Philadelphia, they have the veteran leadership on the line to keep that from happening. There is nothing that says that if we had picked him that he would do for us what he has done for Philly. I really wonder how he would have handled last year on our team. Also, we took Wright over Carter, not Dexter? -
Johnson wants to attack defenses from a variety of plays. It keeps defenses on edge when you don't know where the ball is going. I think Warren fits that mold more so than from a dynamic RB because he can be used in so many ways. I'm not saying this is my opinion but what Johnson stated. If Warren is there, I think there's a 70% chance we take him. Golden is rated a middle of the 1st round pick but his 4.25 speed will entice Johnson to take him if the others are gone.

Agree he is a special player but the argument is not that Dexter is equal to that but not far behind as a second round pick. He will shine this year with better pieces around him. The season will dictate the winner of the argument. -
I have heard numbous NFL scouts say there are 7 blue chip players in the Draft. Hunter, Carter, Graham, Warren, Jeanty, Walker, QB Ward. If any of those are there ( not Ward), I think we take them. Chances are none will be there of which we will trade back if possible. If we can't trade back, I think it will be Kenneth Grant. Billings contract will be coming due and we don't have quality behind him. Pierce will be next inline as Allen stated he wants speed on defense. With #10 you have to add a blue chip player. The first pick determines the next 3 picks. . Johnson talked about speed and weapons, that's Jeanty, Warren and Golden on the offensive side. Defensively Walker, Pierce, Carter fit that mold early.
-
I think you have to add Banks to that list. If he is available at 10, I think he is the pick.
-
The more this goes on, the only 3 players that may be available at 10 that I think Poles would select are Campbell, Jeanty, and Warren. I think he looks to trade down if all 3 of those guys are gone. This is assuming Carter, Hunter, and Graham are gone too.

The light was definitely on in the Superbowl. He was the reason everybody else got turned loose on the DL. Watch Brian Baldinger break him down on film.

My thought is that this draft is so deep at WR you can get a good WR3 in the middle rounds. Most of the production from the lions last year was from their #1 and #2 WRs, who each had 1000 yard seasons, but after that you have Tim Patrick with 33/394. Zaccheaus had a better year than that last year. I would like to get a WR who can play in the slot but has some size - Rome is really the only WR on the roster above 6’0” who figures to actually play, so another short guy would seem to replicate the Zaccheaus / Tyler Scott / Duvernay skill set/type. I really like Savion Williams from TCU because he has shown some usage out of the backfield and in different ways that might appeal to Johnson (he’s basically Cordaralle Patterson 2.0), but Tre Harris, Pat Bryant, Nick Nash, and Tory Horton all likely mid round pick so seem like good fits in that mold as well.
