  1. Past hour
  2. Agree. If you take a closer look to the production of the bigger DEs that might fit our scheme, 5 sacks is almost three times what a healthy Shemar Stewart got, the same as Nic Scourton, and not that much less than James Pearce (7.5) and Landon Jackson (6.5). If he was injured all year and couldn’t put big time weight on that leg, and you project him to be healthy, maybe you have something. Of course, he ran a pretty slow 40 at the end of the year, so is that just what he is or what he still feeling the effects of the injury (which would be concerning to me). Much to consider.
  3. I’ve been warming up to taking Mykel Williams at 10. Premium position. Premium talent. Less than premium production.

    Stewart and Johnson as well:
  5. Definitely want one. He goes in the first round. Does anyone think they would take him at 10?
  6. It will be interesting to see if Ben Johnson or Dennis Allen gets their guy at 10. It feels like Johnson, being the new HC is going to want to stack the deck on offense.
  7. That was DABEARSDABOMB that said that. I don't think that at all.
  8. Today
  9. I didn't think you were trying to trash him at all. You just made a false statement when you eluded to him being one dimensional. I also don't think we should draft him, but would be excited if we did.
  10. Finding a top RB looks to be a priority. He'd be a guy to draft if they happen to trade down w Pittsburgh who could move up for a QB.
  11. And WR Kyle Williams was there yesterday. Like him as a player but would like a bigger guy given that all our other WRs that figure to make the roster are under 6’0” besides Rome.
  12. Another wild card is Dennis Allen, how much influence will he have on using the #10 pick on a defensive player?

Hampton visited the Bears today for a top 30 visit:
  14. With every player we have talked about to nauseum, watch it , a surprise of someone we haven't discussed. Will Johnson, Matt Golden, Tyleik Williams
  15. In no particular order: Ashton Jeanty - Literally the only potential top ten pick the Bears have reportedly brought in for a visit. Maybe he won’t be there but I have to believe he’s in the mix. Will Campbell - Not my #1 choice, but good character guy with high RAS score and at worst he’s a very good to great guard. Mykel Williams, DE, Georgia - Biggest need, size is right for the Dennis Allen scheme, seems likely to be available. Another high character guy by all accounts. Production not maybe what you want but wasn’t 100% healthy.
  16. Hard to read what they want to do. Greg Gabriel said they finalized their draft board by Sunday. The next 10 days will be going over different scenarios as to who they can get and at what point in the draft.Meetings with scouts going over tweaking the board.
  17. I agree with the players in the top 10 that are gone. Mine ( no particular order) Warren ( another weapon) Javon Walker ( he's supposed to be one of the blue chip players, Allen with use as a blitzer, edge, rover) Kenneth Grant ( Billings last year contract- Jarrett older) Akim Hicks player comparison
  18. I'll have to look back at all the contracts, aren't they aligned with the Caleb time line?
  19. Another thing I like about the signing, it goes thru Caleb's 5th year option year. So technically the entire extension is on a rookie QBs deal window. They can assess his value again with the new cap availability in 2027-2028 after the Bears have won a Super Bowl. I would like to lock down Edwards at LB too, they need continuity at all levels.
  20. We are 10 days away from the 2025 NFL Draft! Give me your top 3 players that YOU believe will be selected by the Bears if they stay at #10. I am going with Warren - TE (people have comped him to McBride, matchup problem, used like a WR3) Banks - OT (replaces Jones at LT Day 1) Grant - DT (If Dexter slides outside sometimes, DT is a bigger hole and needs to get younger quickly with Billings and Jarrett.) After doing what feels like a million different mock drafts, and looking at the needs of the teams in front of the Bears, it feels like Ward and Sanders will go in the top 9. Hunter, Carter, and Graham are the 3 positional players that I am most sure of that won't be available at 10. I don't think Campbell, Jeanty, or McMillan fall either, but they are the possibles. That leaves Warren, Banks, and Membou from the consensus boards. Sanders again is the key. I think it goes Ward, Hunter, Sanders, Carter, Graham as the top 5. Then Jeanty - LV has huge hole at RB, Campbell - NYJ to protect Fields, McMillan - CAR needs a WR. That leaves NO. If Sanders is gone, they could actually pick Dart here, or go BPA, which is probably Barron. If NYG doesn't pick Sanders, I think NO takes him, making the top 9 unchanged, just scrambled.

Based on that list, OL and WR seem like the 2nd round targets.
  22. I agree and think they should plug the few holes they have first on oline and dline. I just have a feeling the Bears will take Jeanty or Warren. I won't regret it if they get two rd 2 studs like Ersery or Conley at LT or Grant or Nolen at DT.
  23. You are correct, Johnson will mold the players he has but he gets the chance to add a piece to fit exactly what he wants to do. Whether Jeanty, Warren or a long shot Mathew Golden. If he sees the OL as a weakness he will want an LT, or another pass rusher on defense. Most everyone has ignored the position but we could take a shut down corner at 10 also. I think it will be at a premium position LT - Edge -RB-CB ( TE or WR) to a lesser degree. Him and Poles both talked about their first 4 picks were going to be looked at as a group pick. What is the best option at each spot to maximize their draft . Can you get a quality edge at 10 or 39 or 41-72? RB, DT LT, ect. TE, RB and DT are deep so later rounds make sense. LT and DE are not.
  24. I'm not trying to trash him, I would love watching him. I just don't think the bears are going to draft him at 10. If he is available to them, I can see Poles choosing multiple picks in return. If we still didn't have several holes to fill, it would change the situation a lot. I think 2 players away from a competent defense. We need another weapon or two to maximize Johnson's offense. AND the OL needs more depth and a LT if that's a priority to you. I think we are one year away from adding a Warren or Jeanty to our lineup for final touches to a SB run. I could be off big time on my reasoning and 6 different positions could be our pick at 10.
  25. Ben Johnson is not going to run the Detroit Lion offense. He will mode the offense to the talent he has. He has said this, he has hired coaches he knows little about, and he has players that are different, so this is a whole new beginning. All we know is he likes to scheme to attack defenses. I think they want more at RB than Swift and Roschon, so getting a guy who is more might mean rd2 or Jeanty if he falls to 10. The Bears haven't run the ball well for a few years and could use a top 100 player at that position.
  26. Jeanty is not one dimensional. He's generational at what he does. I can't wait to see what he does. Even though I want the Howie Roseman approach to drafting, I would welcome Jeanty with open arms...
