southsider2k5 replied to chitownman's topic in Soldier Field
Its between Butkus and Singletary until Urlacher proves otherwise. -

Nice. That's the one thing that is missing off of this team, is that dominant personality, but I also think that lack of ego is what could keep this team playing at a high level for a long time.

There isn't too much more you can do without having physical posession of the tickets. Definately be smart about who you buy them from, and that kind of thing, but nothing is 100% besides being able to check the tickets themselves.

I am too old to know the song, so all I can say is welcome to the site

We are looking to attract the good posters, with solidly written material to show off the level of Bears knowledge here. Also we are looking to give our posters as much knowledge and insight as possible into their favorite team.

I think the one thing you can't doubt about this team is their loyalty to each other. How easy would it have been to call out Rex Grossman this year? Guess how many players did so... None. Anytime the "outside" said something about one of their guys, they rallied around them. Even Tank Johnson didn't get slack for his stupid things he was invovled in. Calling out people on this team is a surefire way to get this these boys pissed off. Hopefully Peyton Manning can call Brian Urlacher an ethnic slur or something to ensure we win the Super Bowl

To be honest, I think a perfect field would benefit our defense more than we are talking about. It would be one thing if our D relied on brute strength, but it relies on speed, which means when the field isn't ideal, our speed gets hurt, because the D is the group that doesn't know where it is going. The O knows where it is going, and the D has to react to those actions. On an ideal field, the reaction time is quicker, making it easier to keep up with the offense.

If you have ever aspired to write about the Chicago Bears, and see your name all over the internet, here is your chance. We need people to write up stories about the Bears for talkbears.com. Ideally if someone has interest in writing up a Super Bowl preview, or articles about individual bits of the game, we would love to have you. Your work will be posted on various sites, to highlight talkbears.com, and hopefully grow this site somemore. If you have any interest PM or email me. Thanks Mike

Balance is the key for the Bears offense. I think we have learned that if you run the ball down there throats, they will stop it. We need to keep them honest with quick stuff past the 7-8 guys in the box, so that they can't fill up the box.

THE F'ING SUPER BOWL: Indianapolis Colts vs. Chicago Bears
southsider2k5 replied to WHarris1's topic in Soldier Field
Though the total percentages do favor the Colts by about 56-44% -
SI.com sucks. The real story was out there, and they still had that as current on their website

The best was the quote from Ogun who said he was about a second away from punching the guy. I think Reggie Bush gave us this game more than anyone on our team did. They looked scared and lost during the two drives sandwiching halftime. After Bush pointed out Urlach, well they weren't lost anymore.

Interesting to note, the Bears are playing in Super Bowl 41, while Brian Piccilo was #41
-
He should have knocked him into the middle of next week and taken the 15 yards.

Brian is one of the best players in the NFL, but he isn't Peyton Manning.

There are quite a few who are fans of both teams. I root for the Colts if nothing else is going one. I do like Manning, and it is nice to see a local team do well, but that is nothing compared to how I feel about the Bears.

Super Bowls Line Range From 7-7.5 For Indy
southsider2k5 replied to chitownman's topic in Soldier Field
The thing that will be interesting is that the Colts D really did step up in the playoffs. The second half against the Pats, not to mention the shutdown of LJ against the Chiefs isn't to be taken lightly. The Bears are really going to have to mix things up to win this game. -
THE F'ING SUPER BOWL: Indianapolis Colts vs. Chicago Bears
southsider2k5 replied to WHarris1's topic in Soldier Field
It'll be worse this time. The "superstar" always gets picked over the "team". Plus in this case the superstar is a genuine fan favorite nationwide, so there will be a lot of sentiment for Peyton to get his first title. -
But Indy has Peyton Manning with his first shot at the ultimate prize. There will be no better individual player on the field than Manning. It will interesting to say the least.

I call it the last Bears town. If you get south or east of us, you get into South Bend only TV feed areas (we get both SB and CHI) which heavily favor the Indy teams. MC is the great majority a Bears town, but there are a solid minority of Colts fans. (most since Peyton got into the NFL)
