  1. If it were any other position I wouldnt have what iffed, and I know its hard to keep 2 guys together like this but name me the last team to win a Super Bowl with a feature back? It might be Denver with Terrel Davis. This isnt depth really either. Theyre both playing and theyre style of run compliments each other. On top of Cedrics injuries.
  2. Thats what I was thinking too. Who better to coach linebackers on this system then someone wh ran it for his whole career. That reminds me, when is Brooks a free agent. If we did trade Briggs, we would have the right people to woo him.
  3. ya, but what happens if Ced gets injured. Hes not exactly durable. Wed be in a hell of a lot of trouble.
  4. I know what you mean about coexisting but I think its because its the third year of this and theyre frustrated.
  5. It surprises me that Jones would want to be traded. Sure hes sharing time but hes on a winner and we have given him lots of respect and kept him as our number one back for his whole time here even when there were grumblings for Benson. Im waiting for Briggs to make a statement, not Drew, about what he plans to do. I would have no problem trading him if we get value. I think we should restructure Brown with incentives if hes willing and go after the Bengals guard in free agency. We can find somebody suitable to replace Briggs for a lot less money.
  6. Was Lovie in Tampa when Hardy played there? If so that explains a little.
  7. Thats good to hear something positive and not just lobbying from his agent.
  8. "Pay him, pay zat man his money" Teddy KGB
  9. What you posted about Angelo from the combine was good. Im glad to hear that both sides dont think negotiations stalled.
  10. Thanks, I didnt see that. I thought they brought him in to let him be the qb coach.
  11. I agree, there will be a team out there willing to throw a ton at him. Like the Giants, or probably many of the teams that signed coaches this year. I could see Dallas making a run at him too. We need to get this done soon.
  12. Isnt this why they brought in Garrett? Whats that guy gonna do?
  13. How can we justify not paying him what someone like Petrino is making. Know wonder hes pissed. This better get worked out or watch the circus during the year were gonna have to listen to about what team he is going to. We also dont wanna lame duck coach when we will more then likely be favored to repeat in the NFC.
  14. Well, if he tries to hold out or something thats not gonna do anything to help him get that kind of money. What kind of team would pay a weak side linebacker that kind of money. If we can get some draft picks for him we might as well let him go. Hes not gonna stay here. The good thing about him being franchised is we could pull a sign and trade and he also would have to play well all year or he wont get paid those kinds of dollars.
  15. Considering how much other coaches are making Lovie deserves 4.5-5 million a year. What they initially offered him is an insult. Not resigning him before the season starts is one of the biggest mistakes this franchise could make.
  16. Angelo is better at drafting in the later rounds. Hes made some good signings and some havent worked out as well.
  17. Ok, letting Rivera go I get. But this cannot happen. I dont care how much they need to pay him they need to get a deal done. I mean, how off can the two sides be. Our teams window for a super bowl as is may be pretty small and we cant afford a full makeover of a coaching staff.
  18. I voted no. I dont think it would be possible unless there was something different the most mock drafts. The only thing can think of would be if we listed all the moves each team made and then we could vote on a few different things like: Most improved from last year, best set up to contend in the near future, best chance of winning the super bowl with the draft and trades...stuff like that, it makes it a little more hands on and could give incentive not to screw around and could make ours a little more original... If nobody likes that idea I just think we should do it without trading future picks and players.
  19. We obviously all already knew this was gonna happen. I think our defense will improve next year mainly because of getting Harris and Brown back and Harris/Manning, D having more experience and we'll get to see if Dvorack has anything.
  20. I dont think we should be able to trade future picks. I mean, I am willing to give up my first rounder for 10 years because what do I care. If were gonna do that we should be able to trade players too.
  21. And Berrian and more then likely Grossman on offense who still need to be addressed.
  22. Just for the record...Ive never done one of these before, but you cant trade players right?
  23. Anybody in the top 5, Id be willing to give up a substantial portion of Baltimore's picks to move up.
  24. While I do think we need to get more aggressive with our blitzing, the only time we had any pressure really, blitzing or not was when it was from our d-line. Thats just the nature of the cover two which we were running. Losing Rivera doesnt set us back at all in our current scheme. We have great personnel for the cover two also, only when were healthy though. Losing your run stuffing tackle and your stud safety destroy running the cover two effectively IMO so if injuries hit us again next year theyre gonna have to try some new things but Rivera was really third in line of running our defense anyway. I wish him luck in San Diego but it must be hard to interview for head coaching jobs and end up relatively getting demoted.
  25. Id be willing to trade up with the Ravens
