Also, Im not disagreeing about our scheme, I hate it just as much as anyone. I just know we need a pass rush from the front four and were not getting it. Scheme or not.

I know you relatively addressed it, but ya, Colvin wasnt even really an example. He was more of a timeframe of the last time we had a consistent pass rusher. Im not saying we need a guy like Colvin specifically. We need a defensive end not an OLB.

Thats your opinion but I felt this post validated what was being discussed in the Orton sucks thread. I was getting flamed for saying he had a terrible game and this just proves Im not the only one who thinks so. Anytime I try to be critical of Orton somebody brings up Grossman when its not the point, I was glad to see a few neutral people agree because there are a lot of people who will lay the bulk of the blame on orton.

Not in the first round, that should be OL or QB. I think safety might need to be addressed before DE too. I dont have a solution, those types of guys are hard to come by.

Like I said, they show flashes, but they havent been consistent. Harris hasnt been close to a dominant pass rusher since the first half of 06. Ogun is good but he doesnt change games and Anderson had a fluke season. Hes good, but hes not 12 sacks a year good.

We have three decent DEs who have all shown flashes but this team hasnt had a pass rusher that can take over a game in a long time. The closest thing I can think of isnt even a DE, its Colvin. If this team could get a guy who can actually make a team gameplan for him our defense would dominate. Our d line has been ok the past few years and this year looks good against the run but if we could get pressure on the qb I think our defense could generate ridiculous amounts of turnovers. Look what happened yesterday when we needed a stop, Griese was sitting in the pocket all day. I think a safety and defensive end should be needs for this off season along with OL, QB and possibly WR but I think DE might need to be made a bigger priority.

Im in two pay leagues. In one I am up 6 and have LT going against Sproles, which could be interesting. In the other, Im down 18 and have Gates and Coles against nobody. Westbrook screwed me in that league.

Can we drop the Grossman debate? Ive said 1 million times its only my opinion. Im not sitting here trying to say Grossman is awesome or anything. Im concerned about our offense and right now Orton is the qb. Im not trying to compare every aspect of their games. Youre right, maybe Grossman doesnt make those throws to Lloyd and they dont score at all, who knows? I dont care. Im frustrated because I think we can contend for the division and the whole team did some stupid shit today. Since this is a thread about Orton, Im discussing my concerns with him. Read noots breakdown on the qb position, Im not the only one who thinks this way. For the record, I was also bitching about the playcalling and I even agreed with you about the defense being out of shape. It just so happens this thread is about Orton. I said IN MY OPINION that if Grossman was playing we would have won these past two games, especially this one because we had men open down field. Orton played like shit today, if Grossman did I would say it. I know I wouldnt want Grossman playing next week because of Phillys defense, Im saying this specific game. I think Grossman makes that throw to Forte and also makes the throw to Booker. He makes either of those we win. Im not saying if Grossman was the qb we would go 16-0.

So have I. Im on record saying I thought Orton was the man for the job this season and thought he was a better fit for our offense. You think Grossman is worse and I think Orton is worse/ Just know, whether you want to admit it or not, your doing for Orton what you bitch about people doing for Grossman. Youre blindly defending him. I dont think Grossman is the answer either but IMO if Orton is going to throw picks like that we might as well have a guy who can stretch the field in there.
