  1. Exactly like you thought. I like the first two and not the third. I just think we learned a lot watching him since hes been injured and hasnt had Moss. We also dont have any bailout receivers like he needs for success.
  2. I think the state of our offense is what is going to limit Wolfes playing time. Were constantly going to struggle on offense and he cant be out there as an every down back and if we only bring him in to run plays for him the defense will pick up on it.
  3. Exactly. When teams have such a large financial commitment to players it makes it almost impossible to cut ties with them if they bust for at least a few years. SO because of this we had to get rid of Jones, a much better back, because we couldnt offer him more money because we had too much invested in Benson. Theres no reason why Jamarcus Russel and Matt Ryan should make more then Tom Brady. I hope this is something that gets ironed out when they make the new CBA in the next few years.
  4. I would love it considering he is the EXACT type of receiver we need. However, there is no way it will happen. I dont think the Cardinals would trade him and if they did they would want a kings ransom. Theres no way we would offer enough considering the Redskins offered two first round picks for Chad Johnson they would absolutely offer much more than we could.
  5. From what Ive heard he has never been scared to say things in the media, controversial as they may be. That doesnt take away from how great he was but it makes us want him to stop talking...
  6. Ya, and youve also morphed what was reported from, they hit him harder because they didnt like him to the whole defense continually hit him until he was hurt and there is no way thats true. Yes, I dont think its a big deal if the first thing is what happened, but I know the second thing didnt happen. Do you honestly think this was like a non hitting drill and guys were just hitting him left and right and the coaches didnt do anything? Nobody liked him so they played harder to show him up and if he got hurt, oh well.
  7. ya that was my fault. I listed the first post as Love instead of Rose
  8. If youre going to continue to use something that there is no positive way you can know as the basis of your argument than this isnt gonna go anywhere. Is there any type of proof that they were continually hitting him with the goal of injuring him or are you drawing a bold conclusion based on this article? This is hearsay at this point. Unless one of the players says he was trying to injure him it shouldnt be looked at like he was being victimized by the whole team.
  9. Theres a big difference between going at a guy you dont like harder than the whole defense hitting a guy till he gets injured. Sure, if they were treating it like a gang initiation that might be a little much. Clean hits in a live drill in practice are fair game though. Youre making it sound like they jumped him or something. We need to remember these arent facts either, this is someones opinion, and its not one of the players.
  10. So what are they supposed to do? Take him by the hand, put him in a red jersey so he cant get touched and pay him pretty much more money than anyone on the team? For how much money he "held out" for theres gonna be tension from vets. He came in making more money than any offensive player on the team without playing a down and we need to worry about if theyre too insecure to handle it? Thats why they get paid that kind of money. He talked the talk, got the money and that was it. Players try to show up each other in practice all the time and Im sure injuries arise a lot. You keep saying they "intentionally" tried to hurt him. Are you sure about that or is that a rather general assumption? Despite what the article says, unless I hear it from the player himself Im not going to assume he was trying to injure him. Sure, he might have went at him harder for whatever reason, but that doesnt mean he was trying to hurt him. The whole argument is based off a pretty brass assumption.
  11. Like I said Im not even concerned if its "fair" or not but its a part of football. It happens on any team. Do you think this is the first time a player got hit in practice by someone who didnt like him and ended up injured? This story is just more in the media so it seems worse. I agree it was in poor taste if its true but stiff like that happens all the time. Im sure most rookies play a lot harder then the vets to earn a spot so does that make it cheap if they hit someone and they get hurt because they were working extra hard? Its bad when teammates dont get along and there is tension on the field but in Bensons case he brought it all upon himself. From day one here he never did anything to earn his teammates respect or a lot of the fans. If you want to be the back for the Chicago Bears you better come to play and work hard to help the team.
  12. Theyre adults and its the NFL. Whether its fair or not, it isnt a big deal. If they didnt like him so they made him work harder in practice than so be it. He never seemed to care anyway. If I was on the team and a guy who didnt care about the team and never gave it his all and was handed the job over a better player because of his draft status I would try to work him too. is it a big deal for him to have to earn his teammates respect?
  13. Benson is absolutely a better runner than AP. I dont think anyone is contesting that. AP is a better overall back though. Either way, its scary that a career third string RB is number one on the depth chart but losing Benson is addition by subtraction.
  14. Its also the defenses job to get the offense ready. Benson was too soft so even if it was out of dislike for him it ultimately is still preparing the offense better. They werent cheap shots. Its about winning? Show me where Benson cared about helping the team win?
  15. I dont care who it is as long as its not Emmitt Smith
  16. He was an all time great, but arguably the best back ever? He isnt even the best back in franchise history. I dont think there are many people putting him there. Brian Piccolo owned him.
  17. If Benson had a problem with getting hit too hard in practice he should have lowered his shoulder and hit them back. Complaining about it doesnt help his case. This is the NFL. I cant believe people still defend anything Benson has ever done or said. If he cant handle getting hit with a clean shot in practice without getting hurt maybe he can wait for the WNFL to start and join that league. He got hit too hard in practice? Seriously?
  18. If you can do it for a good price or at least have it incentive laden than without a doubt. Him at 80% is better than any guard we have on the roster.
  19. I definitely see the comparison but the motives are so different. Donaghey is doing it to help him legally. Hes looking at time in federal prison and him giving up other people will help his cause but it also might be a reason for him to embellish to make it seem like hes only a pawn in the grand scheme of things so maybe he can share the blame with others. Canseco did it strictly for money. He wasnt in jeopardy of getting in trouble. So even though he benefited financially from it, it also made him hated by a lot of people.
  20. Ideally for who, the other teams defense? As of now its AP as the starter and Forte will be getting a good amount of carries and Wolfe will get the same BS he got last year. Wolfe is absolutely third in line right now and if they bring someone else in he will be 4th.
  21. ya, Im sure thats probably what it was. With how big of a scum bag he is there is no way he was there to prepare for the season...
  22. Johnson was pulled over for speeding in Gilbert, Arizona. According to the police, he was stopped by after driving forty miles per hour in a twenty-five mile per hour zone. He was also suspected of driving while impaired "to the slightest degree", but was released without being booked or charged. The Bears waived Johnson a few days after hearing the news, as general manager Jerry Angelo stated that he had no room for error left. [27] The incident would prove to be the final straw in his already tense relationship with the Bears' organization. The Bears ultimately released Johnson on June 25, claiming he "compromised the credibility" of the team.[28] Almost a week after Johnson was waived, the results from a blood test conducted on Johnson when he was pulled over confirmed his blood alcohol content was under the legal limit.
  23. The problem with Wolfe is that he isnt the type of back that can do it all. If anything he would only be used for sweeps or in long passing situations. However, when a defense can narrow down to a handful of plays that will be run when hes on the field we will be too predictable.
  24. It didnt seem like anyone on the team liked him. Think of how many times you heard players backing Grossman, Briggs and even Tank Johnson. You never heard thst about Benson. I remember hearing the story about the defense hurting him in practice. If I remember correctly I think Mike Brown was part of it.
  25. Did anybody think he wouldnt be there in the end? Thats not what kind of guy he is. Im sure he is still seeking a new deal but he isnt going to be his priorities before the teams.
