No, I know what you mean, however it creates a gray area. The easiest way to solve it is with the filters. Otherwise who determines what is ok and what isnt? I dont think its a big problem but if anyone does I dont see how adding like 5 words to the filter does any harm. We can put up the message warning but we also cant force anyone to read it. Also, even if its not encouraged, which I would hope people knew without being told, it also doesnt do anything to prevent people from using them.

I dunno, seeing someone threaten to kick someones ass over a message board would be pretty funny. I would like to share comedy of that nature with people of all ages.

The people who would respond to the request arent the people that you need to worry about though. There are lots of circumstances why someone swears, happy for a win, mad for a loss, a players actions, an angry result to someone elses post. Sometimes people are just gonna swear so if you want it stopped, we can use the filters. If not, what are we supposed to do, suspend someone for saying F*** Ya in a Victory thread, I hope Nuke doesnt start any more victory threads for shis sake then.

Everything Ive heard about whats gonna happen whether it be on ESPN or on Sirius NFL says that nothing else is going to happen. These tapes were known about and arent what the league was looking for. The walk through of the Rams before the Super Bowl is what they were ultimately looking for. It sounds like the only thing that is left to find out is the source from the Boston Herald that CONTINUES to say they have more info even though it isnt being found. Since the Herald isnt going to give up its source there is no way to prove anything. This is what Ive heard guys like John Clayton and Bob Ryan say.

We can use the filters like Prophet suggested but you cant really blame the mods for not doing anything yet. There havent been any complaints and any other attempts at self policing so far have been met with such outrage like we are acting like FCC. So which way do you want it cleaned up or not? You can ask for people just not to swear but that wont happen.

Exactly what I was thinking. That, coupled with the time it took for her to come forward, its like she had called her dad for whatever reason and now they want to use it as an alibi and since she really only called her dad and not 911 because the records can be traced they came up with this story. I wouldnt be surprised to see this story be true on either side, I just found this very fishy, especially with the "black friend" line.

I will admit that the longer this goes on the more I consider him to be telling the truth. However, as you eluded to the part of the story I think is BS is where the girl said she called her dad to call 911. If she was that concerned she would have called 911 herself and this seems kind of fishy.

Safety is going to be interesting this year for us. Between Browns health and the carousel of guys coming in and out its a crap shoot to see who will be on the field most of the season.

Ya losing Harris sucked. We thought he was expendable because safety was a spot we were strong at. Turns out, not so much. I think Harris led the league in tackles and forced fumbles at the safety position in Carolina last year too.

If anyone wants to have a discussion about police corruption in general we can very easily make a thread about it and I dont blame you for responding something you disagree with at all. I just think everyone involved in the discussion, myself included, took the topic off course and it isnt fair for someone who is clicking on the topic thinking we are talking about Benson. Im not singling you out either I know you were just responding to things you read.

I wasnt talking about moving this specific thread. I said if people want to discuss police corruption than we should start a new thread and I suggested it being in the water cooler forum. I had no intentions on moving the Benson thread and I never said anything about moving it. Talking about police corruption in terms of Bensons situation is one thing but it went way off of that and I said I was involved in the change and said it was wrong. There isnt anything wrong with saying if people wanted to discuss police corruption in general that we should open a new thread for it though. Whats the point of even having titles for the threads if people click on them and the name on it isnt even whats being discussed. I understood the outrage the last time people were mad about moving threads but thats not what I did or was suggesting.

yes there is another forum for off topic discussions, whether or not people use them is their choice but suggesting starting another thread in the water cooler isnt violating anyones rights or anything. The initial discussion about if Benson might be telling the truth about not doing anything wrong is related to the topic but where it went after that isnt. That specific thread was to talk about Benson getting arrested which is why I suggested a new thread if people wanted to keep discussing police corruption. Thats not moving an open thread, thats not telling anyone they cant discuss the topic or anything along those lines. Its simply trying to keep the forums organized which is kind of the point.

Ya Im aware of that. As I was typing the post about dropping it someone else responded to one of my post and I responded to it. That was my mistake. I just dont think the NFL forum is a place to discuss police corruption which is why I suggested moving it to the water cooler even though I thought it was a bad idea and since then I have tried to steer the topic back on track.
