  1. If we make a decent FA OL signing it will be very interesting to see what we do with our 4 picks on day 1.
  2. I would love to get him and I think he is a game changer and has a lot left in the tank, however, I think it would be irresponsible to bring in a defensive end unless we dont plan on retaining Ogun or are planning on trading Anderson. Im sure Taylor will be visiting the Pats early this week anyway.
  3. There is a possibility we are gonna make a run for Turner? I didnt think so at first but now watching them sit idle I could see them trying. We know they want to bring in a RB for competition Benson.
  4. Theres a lot more to the Jones story about being traded. The reason why he was playing over Benson wasnt because he was a locker room hero it was because he is better and outperformed him. However, we were handcuffed by Bensons contract and something had to give. Jones wanted to be traded or extended a year earlier, since we couldnt afford to resign him and there was no trade value for him they promised him that if he played out the year they would trade him and they did. Thomas Jones was the only player from the starting 11 on offense that wasnt there, I know the line got older but the majority of the decline was because we had no running game.
  5. They made a play at him last year too when they wanted to swap first rounders to trade for him. I think one of the main reasons, besides them always throwing money at FAs is that Rosenhaus has a lot of clients there and he deals with them all the time.
  6. I just dont think our scheme has enough of the linebackers blitzing. He certainly has the ability to get to the qb if need be.
  7. Thats the question. Its a tricky situation. They were mentioning trying to trade him on the radio the other day. I think that would be devastating to the franchise. I hope they can find a way to keep both sides happy.
  8. Are you honestly trying to say that losing Berrian is worse than losing Thomas Jones?
  9. I just dont think he is even close to being a number one receiver. He has also had some injury concerns and now hes gonna be playing in a dome with a weak passing qb. Like others have stated he is gonna be a big time liability for AP when he gets down field. His hands are VERY inconsistent and like even you said he doesnt have the best routes. For a qb who isnt very gifted in making on the fly reads I can see a lot of ints coming from miscommunication between the two of them. For the same reason Im glad we didnt sign Berrian Im glad he went to the Vikings. He got number one money because of the deflated market and now he is their franchise number one receiver. They wont be able to spend much more money at the position for years. If someone told me that Bernard Berrian was going to be the number one WR of a divisional rival we play twice a year for the next few years I would be pretty excited. He isnt going to take over a game or beat you single handedly like true number one WRs can.
  10. One of his biggest problems, which Im pretty sure you were all over during the season, was his ability to not get open. He doesnt run very good routes and Fred Miller is a better blocker than him, and thats saying something.
  11. He isnt the type of player who will be on sportscenter all the time but he certainly makes plays. One of the better plays I can remember him making was against Seattle in the playoff game. It was either 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 and we were tied and they ran a draw and he knifed through the line and made the stop for a loss that got us the ball back. That completely changed the momentum of that game.
  12. Are you out of your mind? Berrian is not a number one receiver in the grand scheme of things. He is a one tool player. Hes too small and weak to be a teams number one option.
  13. Quite possibly the worst idea of the whole off season.
  14. Luckily for us those are two areas we excel at talent wise!!!
  15. I think every year there are gonna be a few guys that receive the largest contracts for their positions. Imagine if they get rid of the cap.
  16. I agree. Weve had the burners here for a while but havent had the sure handed, larger possession receiver like we thought we were getting when we signed Moose. Adding a guy like that will make Hester and even Bradley more viable deep threats.
  17. In the long run it might be goo to not overpay for some of these guys. I will give JA the benefit of the doubt for now, but if he doesnt do anything to make this team better than people are going to start calling for his head after next season. I dont think it will bode well for Lovie either.
  18. Javon Walker can cure all.
  19. freak Berrian? You were the one the whole time saying the Bears should be on their knees trying to resign him.
  20. Maybe character issues in the sense of Pacman Jones but I dont think Briggs play declined this year because of it. Urlacher has the same child issue, does he have character issues. Of course he benefits from playing next to Urlacher, but Urlacher also benefits from playing next to him. he is much better than Colvin and Holdman were when they were here. As far as the car situation, nothing happened, it wasnt a big deal. You just seem not to like him.
  21. If Berrian stays in the division his only gimmick skill, his speed, will be easy for us to counter because he is a one trick pony.
  22. I think a lot of people overrate Berrian around here. Stallworth is absolutely better than Berrian. I would love to go after Lloyd and Stallworth as well. I would really like to get Walker because when hes healthy he is an absolute number 1 receiver.
  23. Im not panicking and I dont want to overpay for anyone, especially Berrian, but I dont care about Briggs cars or pregnant women, hes a hell of a player.
