  1. Its not that its impossible its just that its way too unlikely. Before Rex would agree to sign here he would sit down and discuss his roll with JA and Lovie and I dont think they would lie to him and he wouldnt sign here if he knew he was gonna get traded right away.
  2. As long as we dont have to give back Ogun im in. Regardless of the magnitude of the move it never hurts to upgrade at a position.
  3. Damn you beat me to it. Bearsox you gotta do your research.
  4. I agree, we should use him exactly like 06, coming off the bench
  5. Theres not a chance we trade down specifically to draft him
  6. I wonder if TO wiped the gayness off the ball Garcia threw to him for his second td before catching it
  7. Its almost impossible for anyone outside the organization to even know who we will take with our first round pick let alone our second. I think this is all a little premature with this guy.
  8. Woah woah woah, Benson is awesome, he just had a shitty offensive line, ask Bearsox
  9. You wouldnt rather have either Vincent Jackson or Chris Chambers than Berrian? For fun, lets look at the teams where he would be a number one for sure: Minny, Tennessee. Then the maybes, which Im sure youll stress to prove your point: Miami. Theres a few more that you may try to add but he isnt better than a guy like Darrell Jackson. There are more teams in the NFL that he would be a number three receiver on than teams where he would be a number one, and the teams where he would be the number one all have terrible receivers and passing games. That suggests he is a mid to high second WR and he is more than likely going to be the highest paid free agent WR in this off season. This is almost identical to when Washington overpaid for Randel El because he was in a bad receiver off season and now they are stuck overpaying for a guy that doesnt produce very much. Throwing too much money at Berrian prevents us from being able to go after a true number one down the road and our WRs will be stuck in mediocrity for years. Its not a good idea.
  10. He will be the starter on opening day. Im sure they will be going into this offseason with the plan of bringing in another starting caliber safety for that reason or possibly even to start alongside Brown
  11. Orton Benson McKie Moose, Berrian, Hester Clark/Olsen rookie Faneca Kruetz Garza Tait Brown Ogun Tommie Dusty Williams Urlacher HH Tillman Vasher Brown D. Manning Gould, Maynard, Hester
  12. Listen, I dont think Berrian is a bum or anything, I just dont think he is worth what we would have to pay him. However, Im not naive enough to realize if we dont pull of some kind of trade we have to resign him, Im just hoping thats not the case. I dont want to be stuck with him commanding number one receiver money and having him locked up for when a true number one becomes available. If we can at least get a bigger. more physical receiver (what we needed moose to be) that compliments him and takes the pressure off of him being the go to guy I would be happy to keep him. To me Berrian is very comparable to guys like Stallworth and Randel El which is fine, but you can build a receiving corps around them.
  13. New England, Indy, Cincy, Cleveland (you were the one calling K2 a WR) , Arizona, Green Bay, Detroit, Pittsburgh I could add teams where he would be very close but Ill add them in a separate list so you cant nitpick: Giants, Jets, San Diego, Washington (Moss, Randel El and Cooley since as you say, TEs are WRs) With the exception of Pittsburgh, where Holmes you could argue isnt better, that top list is all accurate. In fact, he wouldnt see the field in New England or Indy.
  14. What about Tait at LT seems like a good idea to you? Unless were picking up a left handed quarterback thats a terrible idea.
  15. I agree about Brohm. Ive thought he was gonna be a good NFL qb since last season.
  16. If Walker became available I would absolutely rather pay him then Berrian. Berrian is our best receiver, but that doesnt mean he should get number one receiver money. He is at best a second receiver and on a lot of teams would be the third.
  17. Its still a different position. Most people knew what you meant but you cant really fault anyone for being confused by the statement.
  18. So its ultimately us trading Hester and our first and third round picks for Anderson and a 2nd and third. Just about the worst idea ever...
  19. Id say its all of the above, but the only way a receiver with his talent is picked up that easily is gonna be a risk, but if it pays off it could be huge
  20. Actually my point had nothing to do with Grossman being a good fit, it was more Pennington being a bad fit. Just because a team runs a certain offense doesnt mean any qb that is good in the system even if they switch teams. Minny has a good run blocking offensive line. They are very good overall but they arent as lights out in pass protection. Pennington is a check down, dink and dunk throw for 150 yards and a td qb. Minnesota doesnt have the personnel for Pennington. Like I said before, everyone knows Pennington has no arm so teams wont have to respect the ONLY benefit that their receivers have, which is speed. I understand the idea of quarterback who is smart and eliminates mistakes would seem like a good fit for a team with a dominant rushing game and good defense. I just think that Penningtons arm would be too much a liability and he doesnt have any weapons that suit his strengths. When a qb like Chad doesnt have his safety net dump off receiver and has to start taking more chances and shy away from his game he is gonna start to make mistakes. I know youre gonna keep eluding to my Grossman comment but I seriously dont think he is a good fit there, I was obviously being a smart ass, I just thought it was funny to see you say the Vikings wouldnt want Grossman because hes too immobile but Chad Pennington is a good fit. Do you not see the irony in that?
  21. I know he can be a pain in the ass and is injury prone but this is a good situation for us to look at. We know he has top caliber talent and we might be able to get him for cheaper than Berrian. Ive pretty much been shitting on a lot of the ideas to get wide receivers this off season but if Walker is cut I would be a big fan of giving him a chance here because he wouldnt be insanely expensive and we dont have to give up any draft picks.
  22. No, I think youre on to something there. I can see Chad dodging defenders left and right and when nothings open he can just take off down field. Actually. Maybe he can use his high powered rocket arm to throw the deep ball to those burners. A running team with no possession receivers and only viable threat through the air is on deep routes does not benefit from Chad Pennington. At least with Rex they have the threat of the homerun which may draw defenders out of the box. With Chad teams will have 10 in the box cuz they know he isnt throwing more than 20 yards.
  23. Ya they dont want that pesky immobile Rex Grossman, lets bring in Chad "Warren Moon 2 " Pennington. Hell, he will probably rush for 1000 yards there.
  24. Chads teammates seem to like him for the most part but Ive seen on numerous occasions Chad getting into Carsons face and he is one of the best qbs in the NFL. What do you think he will do with our situation.
  25. Despite the bad offensive line play that shouldnt effect our wide outs dropping passes. Another hug flaw our receivers have is they absolutely never attempt to bat down passes if there is a risk of them getting intercepted. Moss is one of the best in the league at doing that. As great as both those guys are they both would be very expensive and neither would want to play here anyway based on our offensive situation. Moss took a paycut to get traded to a winner. Think hes gonna sign with a team that has no qb?
