  1. Well in general WRs make less than Rbs so the standard contract would be less. Also, since teams use anywhere from two to five wrs at a time as opposed to one running back its easier to go another route at the position. My point however was that Benson was not a slam dunk pick, its irrelevant what happened with Mike Williams, Im just saying there were a lot of analysts and fans that hated the pick. Especially after Bensons comments about preferring to win the Heisman over a national championship. This was also the off season where one of their biggest acquisitions was Thomas Jones. This thread was in regards to JAs drafting ability and if someone says drafting Benson was a good pick theyre wrong. Its not even opinion at this point because he hasnt produced at all.
  2. Self proclaimed Mel Kiper has spoken. Then we can take Joe Flacco in the second because hes like Big Ben only more awesomer.
  3. Bearsox, for being as much of a self proclaimed college expert as you claim to be you are wrong about Benson. There werent many who looked at him as a sure thing especially in Bear nation. Even though he didnt work out Mike Williams was the guy almost everyone wanted and in the grand scheme of things he worked out better than Benson because at least Detroit has cut ties with him and we are still hand cuffed by Bensons contract.
  4. I dont trust his ability to draft offensive talent. He seems to be really good at getting later round defensive players. However, I think his honeymoon for drafting Hester and Anderson is over and he needs to greatly improve over last years draft with the exception of the slam dunk pick of Olsen.
  5. Some people might say Haynesworth stomping on someones face during a game might make him a candidate to have character issues.
  6. They should make that whole scene a fathead.
  7. You wouldnt be able to run on us either, BOTH the tackles would need to be constantly double teamed which would leave our ends to tee off on passing downs. Urlacher would run untouched too because Haynesworth and Harris would be in the backfield all day.
  8. If youre gonna break the bank on a trouble making DT go after Hayneswoth. Man, him and Tommie would be insane.
  9. I dont think they should take a QB at all. They need o line help, rb help, wr help and a safety. If they resign Rex and let him and KO duke it out in training camp thats fine with me.
  10. If the Bears draft Woodson at 14 were doomed
  11. This guy is a bum. he has loads of talent but his bs of not wanting to have to play during games and playing like shit on the road isnt worth it. Theres a reason why a terrible defensive team would cut their best defensive player and it isnt sheer awesomeness.
  12. Mercury Morris is making it very hard to root for the Giants.
  13. Im pretty sure I saw this guy torch College of DuPage a few years ago. After we get this guy maybe the Bulls can get that 8 foot guy from Korea
  14. Im curious to see what kind of effect there will be when he really does leave. I think it is going to coincide with the decline of the skills of the offensive players due to age and its gonna make him look like even a better coach.
  15. Let me know when you find one from somewhere else than Delaware.
  16. Joe Louis was 137 years old when he fought Rocky Marciano
  17. The only reason I would want the Pats to win is because of the 72 Dolphins as well. That aside Id like the Giants to win. It would be a huge upset and Ive been very impressed with Eli and have always been a big Plaxico fan. Also have SIUs own Brandon Jacobs.
  18. What I find funny is when Im listening to the radio and Green Bay fans call in and were pretty much calling for Favres head. One guy called in and said he likes Favre but its Rodgers turn now. He went as far to compare the situation to when the Niners got rid of Montana for Young. If the Packers didnt have Favre they wouldnt have even been in the playoffs IMO.
  19. Since when is he a WR? Did you appoint him WR? As far as AP not bringing anything more than Benson style wise, how about receiving. AP is a solid receiving back for us a la Faulk in New England. Benson has no hands so he will never bring that kind of threat. All this talk about Wolfe being a WR is speculation. He has never played WR in the NFL and Im not even sure if he did at NIU but even if he did that doesnt translate to the NFL. Wolfe may have some tools he can use in the NFL but none that help us. AP is a better receiving back and obviously we dont need him to return kicks. What purpose does he really serve?
  20. Ahead of who on the depth chart? Benson? AP? or the competition JA claims he is bringing in to compete as the starter?
  21. What is the correct way to use him for us then?
  22. All these comparisons to OTHER guys around his size doesnt prove anything. Why would anyone want this guy to see more time, we know he is never gonna be productive offensively on a consistent basis. As far as switching him to receiver, gmafb. Hester switching to WR was a rare occurrence. Some people need to realize Hester is not a running back and Wolfe is not a WR and they are never gonna be.
  23. No predictions from me yet. Yet another New York Vs Boston hype up...
  24. This game seems like its gonna come down to the wire.
