I wasnt really referring to that stuff. Its more about the contract power struggles and how they both got resolved. For Lovies contract, he was getting lowballed and wouldnt sign so the Bears gave in and gave him the money. For Briggs he said he wouldnt play franchised and now he is. As far as Briggs comments about not playing, they dont bother me too much as a fan because I do realize its a business and everyone has to cover their own ass's first and foremost and thats what he was trying to do. As a fan of the Bears, he makes the team better and since that is what I want I have no problem cheering for him if he playing is helping the team.

Im glad hes back and I wish we could resign him but I dont think we could afford that next year. I dont see why anyone would boo him. The whole situation was very similar to Lovies contract and nobody seems mad at either of them because it got done, and the same thing happened with Briggs, we called his bluff and hes gonna play.

I read in another forum that Briggs was booed when he was announced and that they anticipated it ould happen so they announced Urlacher seconds after. What do you guys think about this? I think its a moot point right now and hes gonna play. We might as well cheer him and hope we can resign him.

I read this article earlier. I really dont think were gonna have to worry about Rex taking off too many times during the season. I just dont get why MB would pop him, between the two of them they both could have spontaneously combusted. Ive been confident in Rex from day 1 and I think with his new weapons and some experience under his belt he is gonna break out this season.

How was training camp? Are all the rumblings about hester and Olsen true, because if they are our offense might be a strong point instead of an obstacle.

Orton has even been taking some reps with the second-team offense, but for now he’s more concerned with improving than ascending up the depth chart. Everything Ive read or seen out of training camp makes it sound like Olsen is as advertised. They were saying theyre gonna use him like Indy uses Dallas Clark and line him up all over the field and sometimes as receiver. The electrifying return specialist has been the star of training camp, displaying dazzling moves and explosiveness while working with a Bears offense that suddenly boasts an array of exciting big-play threats. Devin Hester is making a smooth transition from defense to offense in training camp. “He’s something special,” said offensive coordinator Ron Turner. “The progress he’s made has been tremendous. Mentally he’s handling everything really well and physically he’s got good instincts out there. He’s definitely going to be able to help us.” Hester has caught just about every pass thrown in his direction and created a buzz among fans who wear his No. 23 jersey and chant his name after every practice, hoping for an autograph or at least an up-close glimpse of their hero. The 2006 second-round pick looked like he was auditioning for the Globetrotters on one play in a recent practice. After slipping on the grass, Hester reached up and caught a pass on a quick slant while sliding on his back. Ditka said his beef isn't with the pension system, but with the scarcity of disability payments. League officials have said 317 players collect disability totaling about $20 million a year. Ditka said he's proud to be a Hall of Famer and congratulates the new inductees, but prior commitments are keeping him away from the Hall of Fame event. "I'm in the restaurant business. I'm busy," he said. "They don't need me anyway." In June, a group of former players testified in Congress about their bouts with multiple surgeries, dementia and homelessness, all while trying to fight through the red tape of the National Football League and the NFL Players Association's disability system. I dont know about New England. Ben Watson and Kyle Brady isnt anything spectacular. This is hard to rank because its obviously not looking at depth but we have a very solid veteran in Clark who blocks well and is a good red zone target. Then theres Olsen who is slated to be a monster receiver and has the speed, size and strength to stretch defenses. To me that will have more of an impact than Ben Watson

Brown had some of his best years as FS when Parrish was playing SS. The main concern is obviously injury and the fact that the FS needs to be quicker than a SS and its hard to say if all of Browns injuries have caused him to lose a step.

Does anybody else think this can domino effect Leak onto the roster and Griese somewhere else?

I dont really like this move. Harris is basically a run stopper, big hitter, similar to Archuleta and Brown. Now those guys arent exactly the healthiest guys around and we lost most of our backup safeties. Also, is D. Manning still playing safety or are they moving him to corner?
