  1. I hope they don't start playing well now similar to how Dallas has gotten better.
  2. The Bears are not hurting for money by any stretch of the imagination. If they want Fitzgerald, they can have him. If it meant cutting Taylor, T. Harris, and Manumaleuna after the year (which will probably happen anyways), they can have him. They're in a tough spot here. If they deal Knox, they have no fast WR outside of Hester who will probably be almost fulltime KR/PR next year. If they deal Bennett, Cutler's pissed and they trade their best possession WR already. Also, trading Olsen may tick Cutler off as well. I would ask Cutler if he'd be in favor of Fitz, and he'll (hopefully) say yes. At that point, he'll have to make a decision to make on which buddy to have to watch leave. Guys I would trade: Chris Williams (sucks, but Arizona is rebuilding, might need a change of scenery) Roberto Garza (mediocre guard but Arizona could take a flier) Greg Olsen (I don't think he'll ever reach his full potential) Caleb Hanie (Arizona doesn't have a QB for the future it seems and they might want Hanie back) And yes, I WOULD trade the 1st round pick for 2011. Who else will Angelo honestly draft that will turn out to be a better player than Fitzgerald? Castonzo is similar to Williams was when he was coming out. Sign Mankins, draft a RT in the 2nd, and a C in round 4 or 5. Instant upgrades on the OL.
  3. @Adam_Schefter: Vikings have fired Brad Childress and named Leslie Frazier interim coach. per twitter.
  4. C. Williams, Kreutz, Adams, and Tommie should be on there.
  5. Why would Childress sit him? No way Jackson gives them a better chance to win, and why would Childress give a s*** about what they have in QB for 2011 when he won't be back then?
  6. I would do whatever I could, even if it meant a 1st. He is arguably the best WR in football. Greg Olsen OR Earl Bennett AND Tommie Harris and a 2nd for Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald-Knox-Hester-Aromashodu-Davis Fitzgerald-Bennett-Knox-Hester-Aromashodu There is no OL-man worth a 1st round pick anyway (which is beside the point since I have them sending a 2nd) besides Barksdale and Pouncey and they'll both likely be there in the 2nd. Take Barksdale in round 1 and sign Logan Mankins. Omiyale-Mankins-Kreutz-Garza/Williams-Barksdale isn't a bad starting point for an OL. If that OL falters, look for a true LT in the 1st in 2012 and a new C in round 4 in 2011 or 2012.
  7. But do they really NEED to beat the Jets, Patriots, Eagles, and in Minnesota on MNF to be legit contenders? Maybe in our minds and in the minds of the clueless ESPN analysts, but even if they barely beat a bad Minnesota team, kill Detroit, and barely beat 1 of the 3 "great" teams (NY, NE, PHI) and lose the other 2 games by 2 TD's, this team and coaching staff will never lose confidence in themselves. What is a legit Super Bowl contender? Because IIRC the Giants were 8-8, give or take 1 game, and won the Super Bowl. Just because the dopes on ESPN, Sporting News, CBS, etc don't believe in the Bears and the fans of other teams don't believe in the Bears, it means NOTHING to the actual Bears. The Bears were LEGIT contenders in 2006 right? That got them all the way to Miami and they were knocked off. So what did annointing them legit contenders mean? People may hate Lovie. Say what you want because I agree he probably isn't head coach material. However Lovie's brainwashing has finally paid off to where the players always believe in themseleves and their teammates. Atlanta has been good but if they're the best NFC team heading into January, I won't just hand them the NFC title. They can easily be knocked off; they're not a dominant team by any stretch of the imagination.
  8. 1. The Eagles are banged up and the Giants will bang them up even more. They've been hurting QB's badly this year. 2. Vick has been great but so has our D. Also, he's due for a bad one (someone already mentioned both). 3. The staff has extended time to prepare for Philly and the players will practice Monday which gives them an extra day. 4. Vick has dominated the Lions and Redskins, both of which are bad defenses. He has NY Sunday and Chicago Sunday. Let's see how he does against actual defenses. I think we match up well with the Eagles, and anything can happen in the 2010 NFL. BTW- Mad: great post. It's fun to look at. The Bears have been lucky and good, and like I said, anything can happen this year. If the Bears win by 14 or lose by 14, neither would surprise me.
  9. How do people think yesterday was the most complete game of the year, and not Sunday vs Minnesota? Settling for 3 FG's and a 64 rating out of the QB is not very complete.
  10. Those are the Nike contacts. Make your eyes red and they're supposed to help in sports.
  11. Maybe, but when his contract was made for him to reach incentives and bonuses through catches, yards, and receiving touchdowns, he wanted to be a great WR over a great KR/PR.
  12. FWIW, it's Pisa. I think this hurts. Pisa has been terrific this year.
  13. Half? More like an 8th of the time. Doesn't Hester only have like 180 returns? And didn't Mitchell have like 830?
  14. Cutler: 20-32, 214 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT Forte: 16 rushes, 66 yards, 3 catches, 32 yards, 1 TD Taylor: 8 rushes, 31 yards Knox: 8 catches, 100 yards, 1 TD Bears 23-16
  15. Not only were the announcers blowing Favre all game, but they were also talking about the Cowboys A LOT.
  16. Okay, he can be 1d if you'd like. 2nd best on the Bears is like PS on the Patriots. Catch my drift? I can agree. It's opinion. But if all it took was more scrambling, Cutler could've saved himself bruises and a scary concussion by doing more of it from weeks 1 to 8, right?
  17. No problem. From here on, besides in the Miami heat and the domes of MIN/DET, all of the Bears players will have "nice hats!" on, too.
  18. I agree. From worst to best: 1a. Kreutz 1b. Williams 1c. Webb 2. Omiyale 3. Garza I put 9 points, and you say "Wrong." Where I come from, that's called spam. 1 sack in 2 games is geling, believe it or not. Look, we all know the OL is bad, and need atleast 3 new starters next year, but you cannot honestly say they haven't played better these past 2 games. Yes, I know they aren't getting any running lanes for Forte/Taylor, but it'd help if not every run was designed straight up the middle. Yes, pockets were collapsing on Cutler, but obviously something is different as now there's not as many sacks. Maybe it was Cutler's fault from the start then, by your theory. Yes, I admitted there was too many penalties, hence the "they continue to rack up bad penalties. Yuck" part. See?
  19. Should've called it the quits 2 years ago. Then again, I can't blame him. I'd play in 16 more NFL games and be a sitting duck for $13m.
  20. Which is why I'd watch the NFL Network's postgame stuff right away, NBC's with Dungy and Harrison at 6 CT, or nothing at all, if I were you. Did you expect anything differently? BTW- it's Favre. Not Farv. Don't know if you were doing that purposely.
  21. 1. Cutler was good today. A few bad decisions but overall was good. 2. The OL is starting to gel but they continue to rack up bad penalties. Yuck. 3. Tinoisamoa and Briggs were great today. 4. People need to stop ripping Peppers. He's not getting sacks but he's getting plenty of hurries while getting double teamed. 5. Robbie Gould...yeah, I'm his only hater on here, so I'll let this do the talking. He missed today after a FF on Favre at the end of the half, and missed last week IN A DOME which could've been the difference. 6. Olsen was fantastic today. He caught a TD and had his best game blocking in his career maybe today as well. 7. Devin Hester. 'Nough said. 8. Knox played well after his drop for the INT and Bennett keeps improving. Nice catch by Davis for the TD. 9. Why the hell did Siragusa keep saying the Bears jerseys were black? Stupid a**.
  22. Those are the official sideline winter hats this year, bud.
  23. The only OT worth a 1st round grade is Joseph Barksdale and even he is only worth a late 1st. I do not want them to take some 2nd round guy in the middle of the 1st just because he's the best OT available. Even Pouncey might fall to the 2nd. If Castonzo is there along with a better DE, DT, or WR, I'd take the DE, DT, or WR.
  24. Ron Rivera? Too many bridges burnt. Dave Toub? Eh. Singletary? What has he done so far? Cowher? I'd like it, but I doubt the organization ponies up 11-13 million per year for him. Side note: I doubt he goes to Carolina. Despite that being his home, that team sucks. Frazier? Sure, but I think he takes over for Clueless after the season. Harbaugh? If he's anything like his brother- yes, please.
  25. I agree. At the start, all I wanted was offensive linemen, and I think we all know how bad the Bears current OL is. However, this draft class is not very good. Anthony Castonzo, who many have going in the 20's, would be a mid-2nd in any other OT draft, and for that, I don't want the organization to take him just because the OL sucks. We can sign a 32-34 year old as a 1 or 2 year stopgap, then. But with guys like Jonathan Baldwin, Julio Jones, AJ Green, and Michael Floyd all good WR's, I wouldn't care so much if they decided on a 1st round WR.
