    Jay Cutler

You lost me when you called your own rant a childish one. Truly, he had a s*** game. It happens. Yes, I realize he had plenty last year. But get used to this as long as he and his WR's aren't on the same page.
  2. Cutler: 20-34, 239 yards, 2 TD's, 2 INT's (gets sacked 5 times) Forte: 13 rushes, 43 yards, 4 catches, 46 yards Taylor: 7 rushes, 23 yards, 2 catches, 9 yards, 1 TD Knox: 5 catches, 67 yards, 1 TD Gould: 3-4 on FG Peppers: 2 sacks Bears 23-21 (I know I said shoot-out originally, but it looks like rain will be in the area.)
  3. Adam Schein from FOX thinks so. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/chicago...ke-martz-101910
  4. But really, strength at WR? Like who? Bennett is alright, Knox is good, Aromashodu is up-in-the-air, and Hester, before we know it, will be full time on PR. Plus, it's not like we have a lot locked up in our WR's. Besides Hester, who else do we have a lot tied into? I can't remember the last 6th round pick the Bears made that has had an impact, whether it be WR, FS, DE, or OL anyways. Iglesias? Please. He couldn't catch a cold.
  5. Great. So, that will be Cutler's 5th OC since 2006? Yippee. Not that I don't agree that Martz should be fired, but eventually the Bears need stability with the coaching staff as well as the players to succeed. Back to my main beef- if you invest $22 million in a player, you surround him with the best possible personnel. It's like buying a $5 million house and getting sh**ty carpets, furniture, etc.
  6. They cut Charles Grant, and haven't filled the roster spot. This is interesting.
  7. Over reacting much? I haven't seen him in any 3 round mocks, so.. So if we draft a DE, DT, FS, SS, OG, C, or OT in round 6, they'll make the team for sure?
  8. Sign Logan Mankins: 5 years (6 years as an option), $37.5m. Trade Tommie Harris to the Giants for their 4th. Cut Shaffer, Garza, and Clark. Trade 4th round pick, a 2nd round pick, and a 6th next year to Indianapolis for their 1st. 1. Joseph Barksdale, OT, LSU ---I'm sticking with this pick. He might be the best OT in the draft class, he could play LT or RT, and I'm sick of Omiyale, Williams, and Webb playing OT. 1. Jerrell Powe, NT, Mississippi ---None of Chicago's DT's are worth writing home about. Time to select a true nose-tackle. 3. Kristofer O'Dowd, C, USC ---He might not play in 2011, but in 2012, they should let Kreutz go. 4. Jon Moffitt, G, Wisconsin ---Why stop at Mankins? Moffitt is a mauler and impressed me vs Ohio State. 5. Ryan Winterswyk, DE, Boise State ---DL depth, along Idonije has been better than I expected. 6. Greg Little, WR, North Carolina ---He's a big guy and with Hester being used sparingly at WR, another WR this late can't hurt. 7. Stanley Havili, FB, USC ---A very versatile FB, and although FB's aren't needed in Martz's system, he can play special teams. And plus, who knows how much long Martz will be around?
  9. Agree. When Cutler got a concussion, I saw the season flash before my eyes.
  10. For once, jason, we disagree. Olsen isn't the steal everyone made him out to be when he fell in the draft. He quits on routes causing INT's (Collins in NY, Cutler vs GB), I've never seen him dive for a pass (god forbid doing that once in a career), and he isn't very athletic, or atleast he hasn't shown it- when he gets hit, he goes down. Omiyale is overrated? IMO, overrated means he's built up to be good by the media or the casual fan likes him. This applies to Olsen and WILL NEVER apply to Omiyale. Like you said, he shouldn't be in the NFL.
  11. Except their defense has given up more yards than any other team. You may be right. Actually, you will be on the sacks- there will be plenty of them. But Washington isn't a great defense by any means. They have a strange but impressive "ameba" defense, or that's what Jim Haslett calls it. The DL, when the QB is under center, all start to switch spots and rarely ever do they put a hand in the ground. In my opinion, it'll be a shoot out.
  12. But really, yes, I don't think I can put him in any other category other than "mentally challenged."
  13. That's because the most overrated Chicago Bear since I can remember has no clue what the f**k he's doing out there (Olsen).
  14. Again, I was in attendance: 1. I don't think Cutler played as poor as people think. When he had more than 2 seconds to throw, he was hitting open receivers and even making a couple plays with his feet. 2. Time to keep Hester on punts and punts only. Aromashodu can play WR at the same level that Hester can, and Bennett is pretty decent the more and more I watch him. 3. The Bears OL is made up of an aging Hawaiian, a 5th round (IIRC) from Tennessee Tech, a guy who has played every position on the OL since being drafted a few years back due to ineptitude and injuries, a guy who shouldn't be on any team's practice squad, and a 7th round doufus. No wonder they suck. 3a. Corner blitzes are tough to pick up if disguised correctly. In today's case, Seattle was consistently getting to Cutler this way. It shouldn't be hard to figure out, especially since most of the time Seattle WAS NOT disguising them. I counted two times where the CB or S was sitting at the line of scrimmage. How does no one see that f**king guy? 4. The defense played okay, but would've been better. I think they kind of felt like s*** because of their effort yet no production from the offense. Peppers & Tillman have to play better next week and on. 5. (back to #2) Congratulations on Hester being at 13 returns for TD's, tying the record, in 811 less attempts. 6. BIG props to Manumaleuna on his first grab of the year. /sarcasm 7. Bottom line- must play better vs Washington, or McNabb will put up 30+. Chicago's still 4-2 and still 1.5 up in the division.
  15. I forgot what station I heard it on, maybe ESPN1000, but scouts from teams have said they believe they can turn Harris back into a beast and would easily trade a 3rd or 4th and a good player for him, or a 2nd rounder straight up for him.
  16. Lovie admits Briggs is a longshot to play. Marshawn Lynch has never won a game with Pete Carroll on the field. The Bears are 0-9 on the 1 yard line. The Bears are 2-1 when Briggs doesn't play.
  17. FWIW- Williams played guard at Vandy for quite a few games.
  18. Cutler: 23-30, 297 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT Forte: 16 rushes, 61 yards, 5 catches, 98 yards Knox: 6 catches, 67 yards, 1 TD Olsen: 3 catches, 29 yards, 1 TD Aromashodu: 4 catches, 45 yards, 1 TD Bears 33-9
  19. I doubt the Bears, Steelers, Packers- all the classic team jerseys- get changed in the next 10 years, whether Reebok or Nike is in charge. Like someone said, it might work for some teams, but not teams with great jerseys.
  20. Collins traded to Chargers for a bag of footballs. Official.
  21. I doubt Carolina would trade Smith inside the conference, and they'd probably want a 3rd for him, and we can't afford to be giving those up. I'd probably do Bennett and a 5th, however. As for Berrian, he's terrible, makes way too much money, and Minnesota would never trade him inside the division. Mankins? I'd love him, but for a 2nd? Hell no. Guards don't win championships. For a 4th, yes. For a 2nd, never.
  22. Just a few things I noticed today being at the game: - Forte was obviously great. Nice cut-backs. - Peppers is amazing. Manning made a few TD saving tackles + his good returns. Great job by Idonije as well. - Is Hester back? He's been great lately. - Why the hell did Martz start getting pass-happy in the 3rd? My God is Collins bad. If Lovie keeps him at the #2 QB, Hanie should punch Lovie in the sack. - OL (plus Manumaleuna) is still pretty terrible. - Connor: your boy proved me wrong with that 53 yarder today. - MadLith: told you- I'm 3-0 when I see them play somewhere other than Chicago. No worries. - Panthers fans are a joke. Didn't even get loud for player introductions and plenty of empty seats. Classless, too, as apparently I didn't get the memo that "f*** the Bears" was the line of the day. - Onto the Seattle game. Chicago's D should have no problem stopping Hasselbeck, Lynch, Forsett, and company. Seattle is a totally different team away from the "12th Man."
  23. Can't we move on? Both teams got good players, and IIRC, none of the picks we gave them have turned out to be special. Oh, and Orton has 1 more game. Nothing is a given but Cutler would've likely padded those stats today.
