  1. I'll go Bears 31-30. I love Jahvid Best and I'm worried about the run defense. Stafford now has Nate Burleson on top of C.Johnson. But I think Peppers gets a FF in the last minute while the Lions are going down the field. Bear Down.
  2. Hey guys, it's been awhile. I'll be back for the season (unfortunately, for most, right?). I hope the Bears have a good year, but in my mind, it's going to be a long one. The Bears have that much locked into their QB and a DT, too.
  3. Giving up a 2nd round pick for nothing is nothing compared to, like Connor said, having a 26 year old man dead with a whole life in front of him.
  4. Yeah, I love this hire. I would've puked had we signed him to be our OC, but as our OL coach, this is huge.
  5. If it's Bates, it'll be announced soon. He already told USC he won't be returning there.
  6. This will be Cutler's 4th OC...then we wonder why he's not starting to settle in at all.
  7. They can beat DET x2, GB, MIN, NYJ, WSH, SEA, and BUF...that's already 8.
  8. To sum it up in a few words- with this OL, run game, offensive playcalling, and WR's, Orton wouldn't have sniffed 6 wins.

  10. Come February, I'll repost an updated offseason I want to see us have. In summary, I want us to not pay for a guy like Marshall or Jackson. Keep this WR corp together. DA has 4 TD's in 3 games, Bennett played well for his first year playing, Knox was pretty damn good for a 5th round pick out of Abilene Christian, and Hester (for as much s*** as he takes) was on pace for 80 catches. I know he's overpaid, but no team will take on that contract nor will he take a pay cut. If the WR's don't improve next year, Calvin Johnson is a UFA, and his favority city to play in is Chicago. Just saying. Go into the free agency period and sign an OG and a RT. People can say Omiyale will be a better RT then an OG, but how do we know? Because of the 1 game he started in his career as a Panther? Big deal.
  11. Again, I totally agree. The OL has finally begun to gel, and in those games, Cutler throws for 8 TD's and only 1 INT. Orton is not, I repeat- IS NOT, an NFL QB. He benefitted all year from a great defense, great OL, and a great WR. Now, the defense starts to falter at the end of the year and Marshall gets benched, and he starts to suck. Go figure.
  12. I could repeat this as this is exactly what I was thinking, but I'll just say- I AGREE
  13. The first play of the tape is all I need to see. You held your block as the QB stepped up, only to run downfield and look for another block. Keep up the intensity and the will to be great.
  14. However, this is another problem: what if Harris plays like he did Monday night? He was dominant, and another game like this might make the organization think- "well, Tommie is back" and we might look past the need. With our luck then, next year he'll go back "once a month I'll play good" Tommie Harris. However, I do believe your right. Idonije is a nice player, Harrison came in overweight and has digressed since last year, Adams is nothing more than average, and who knows what we'll get from Gilbert at DE or DT. D'Anthony Smith, DT from Louisiana Tech, might be a good pick in the 3rd round, but lasting until the 4th is a long shot.
  15. I hate to take a big, brown, steamy, soft serve crap on your opinion, but Josh Cribbs is easily the best KR in football, and he's also able to sustain that while getting involved in the offense, which Hester couldn't.
  16. I'd give him $2-3m per year. If another team gives him more, God bless him.
  17. Furthermore, where is Omiyale?
  18. If a team offered a 1st and a 4th for Tillman and Hester, would you? Obviously they'd have to throw a player in who isn't living up to his mildly big or big contract, but you all get the idea. Agree 100%. IIRC, guys like Moss, TO, Steve Smith, and Ochocinco all took 2-4 years to become good, great, or elite. However, I disagree with OL being the biggest need. Obviously with only having a 3rd round pick, I'd go OG there and let Omiyale and Schaffer battle it out at RT. After drafting an OG, we'd only probably need a C in the 6th or 7th because I think Garza has been our most consistent OL this year. I'd rather improve the OL through FA rather than bringing in unknown talent, or lack thereof.
  19. 3. Jon Asamoah, OG, Illinois ---This guy is an absolute beast. I'm praying he falls here. Everytime I watch Illinois, the whole OL gets toasted except him. 4. Deunta Williams, FS, North Carolina ---Steltz looked OK but Afalava is a SS and we need a true FS. Williams is a steal this late. 5. Austen Lane, DE, Murray State ---Through November 19, this guy had 11 sacks on the year. This late, he's worth a try. We all know JA loves small school guys (Abilene Christian). 6. Dennis Landholt, OT, Penn State ---More OL depth. 7. Shawn Estes, C, Hawaii ---Kreutz is starting to wear down, and I'm afraid we've already molded Beekman to be an OG. Estes is a true C. ***I didn't have us taking a WR because I like what I see from DA, Hester, Bennett, and Knox. Keep in mind that we still have Iglesias. Sign Logan Mankins- 5 years, $32 million. ---We go into the year with (from left to right)- Williams, Asamoah, Kreutz, Mankins, Omiyale/Schaffer Sign Aaron Kampman- 4 years, $26 million. ---With Adams seemingly invisible, we need to bring in a veteran. Kampman was a monster as a 4-3 DE with Green Bay in 2008. Resign Danieal Manning ---He's a dynamic returner, and IMO, his play as a nickleback is improving game by game. Pay the man $2-3m per. Franchise tag Adewale Ogunleye ---Who knows what we'll get from Adams, Lane, and/or Gilbert? To have a Gilbert, Ogunleye, Kampman, Adams, Brown, and Lane DE rotation sounds pretty good. Rip away.
  20. NBC Sports also reported it. However, I agree. I'd like to see a clearer picture as well.
  21. I thought he may have when I saw it live...
