What to do with that $15 Million in cap space?
Ed Hochuli 3:16 replied to CrackerDog's topic in Bearstalk
WR: It all depends on how Bennett and Hester look this year. If they under-perform, guys like Vincent Jackson, Kevin Walter, Steve Breaston, TO, and Braylon Edwards are all UFA's. DB: We need to make a big move here. I love Bowman, but he's always hurt. Guys like Terrence McGee, Dunta Robinson, Carlos Rogers, and Marlin Jackson are all UFA's. Rumor has it extension talks with Rogers are...well...there haven't been any. Also, in terms of S's, the 2 big UFA names are OJ Atogwe and Antonie Bethea. DE: Nobody catches my eye, except maybe Kyle Vanden Bosch. Although, I doubt the Titans let him walk like they did Haynesworth. It all depends on how the season goes for us and the guys listed above. Talk to me in January (or hopefully February). -
Exactly. With the new scheme, this forces Kampman to take the TE. Good luck week 1 against arguably the quickest TE in football.
-
This is good. I love Polamalu as I'm a USC guy, but if he's out for week 2 against the Bears, then that is huge! Also, Roethlisberger was getting lit up yesterday. Again, the key for week 2 will be the pressure of the Bears defense.
-
Big ups to Noots. BTW- I know I'm 10 days ahead, but Polamalu left tonight's game vs the Titans.
-
He tried to start rumors of his ex-ex team to help his now ex-team win. Bye...jacka**.

I think our DL knows our secondary is weak and banged up. They have to put pressure on Rodgers, and the secondary has to keep plays in front of them.
-
Or we could just draft an actual FB in the 6th or 7th round...
-
The key is Tommie Harris. Do I really need to say more? I don't even care if he gets to Rodgers for a sack. He has to cause mayhem in the middle, whether it's pushing a running play to the outside, or he has to hit Rodgers a few times. Our offense will be fine- it's not a pretty damn good one. The DL, especially Tommie, are the keys for Sunday.

You want us to possibly send our season down the toilet just to beat Green Bay? Look, call me nuts, but I don't even hate Green Bay. In fact, I hate the Vikings more than the Packers. However, this game doesn't mean as much as everyone thinks. Sure, it'd be nice to come out on Sunday and shove a big fat s***burger down the throat of Mike McCarthy and his team, but after Sunday, there are 15 games left. To risk our season just to beat the Packers in week 1 is a joke. BTW- Adam Schefter and Mort both picked Green Bay to make it the Super Bowl. However, Mort picked the Bears, Vikings, and Packers to all get into the playoffs.

Bingo.

I changed it up to 64. I always mess that up when I make these.

Cutler: 20-33, 235 yards, 2 TD's, 1 INT Forte: 24 carries, 112 yards, 1 TD/4 catches, 31 yards Wolfe: 7 carries, 28 yards Bennett: 6 catches, 78 yards, 1 TD Hester: 4 catches, 51 yards Olsen: 4 catches, 49 yards, 1 TD Clark: 2 catches, 26 yards Bears 27, Packers 19

In 2005, when the torch officially began to change hands in terms of who owned who in the rivalry. This was the Bears-Packers game in Chicago, when we were just hammering Favre. I remember being at the game and getting texts that Favre's hand was bleeding all over and his hand looked deformed. It was a 19-7 final IIRC, but the game was dominated by Mike Brown and the defense.
-
I hope this isn't an emergency move. I really hope he's 100%. If he's out for the first 2 games, it's better then him being 80% for week 1 and injuring himself even more.
-
I'd love him here, if he'd accept a back-up role. I can't believe Oakland cut him. IMO, he's better than JaMarcus Russell right now.
-
Obviously, I'm being sarcastic. But I'm not sure how anyone could be confident coming into this year on the defensive side of the ball. Tillman is hurt, Bowman is always hurt, Manning hasn't fully developed yet, Marcus Harrison is fat, and a 6th round rookie is going to start at SS for us.
-
If Bowman and Manning are 85% and Tillman is out, they might score 50 points. With all the great stuff being said about JC, I'm not sure JC/Bennett/Hester/Olsen/Forte can put up 51+ points.
-
Just like Dvoracek, it's time for this guy to go. With all due respect, he just was never the player for us that he once was, all because he could never stay healthy.
-
And Bowman left again with hamstring tightness. I love the guy, but he's never healthy. If we don't go FS-CB or vice versa with our 2nd-3rd round picks next year...uh oh...
-
Isn't it funny how 2 Olsen fumbles, 1 mis-play by Hamilton, and a personal foul on the Bears defense can change the season epically?
-
After picking up Hood, I doubt we grab McAlister. Like DB said though, it couldn't hurt.
-
Why? The pressure is off now and he still has a great group of WR's (plus Jennings is in a contract year IIRC).
-
I highly doubt that that's the case. He wants a new contract, whether it's with Cutler, Sanchez, or Stafford. If he can't stay out of trouble in Denver, how would he stay out of trouble in a bigger city like Chicago or New York. I love Sanchez but let him go screw that franchise, not the one I live and die with (Bears).
-
Uh oh. I'm not a huge Rod Hood fan as he was apart of the problem that Arizona had in letting WR's get behind their defense last year. Also, Hood not being able to make it with Cleveland tells me something. Also, uh oh for the fact that this might mean Bowman could be hurt worse then we thought. If I had to guess, I'd guess Hamilton will be the odd-man out.
