  1. I think Fluker can actually play OG. If that were the Bears intent with drafting him,I could live with that. As a RT,I would think it would be a waste, as we already have 3 RT's signed to compete. We need and OG and C upgrade.

I would not be mad if we took Barrett Jones in the 2nd. I love watching film on him. Very good at point of attack, sound technique, locks on when engaged and gets to the 2nd level very well.(very impressive with his hands) Smart sound player. Will be a very good C in the NFL...

If I'm Emery, I actually select a guard, not a RT who can be converted to guard. Trade down and take Warford. If I want a G, I'll take Warmack or Cooper if they fall. If not, I go BPA.

I don't want them taking a guy at 20 and then moving him.

  2. I see the Bears had two scouts at the LSU Pro Day yesterday. Could have been for Kevin Minter. Could also have been for Mr. Badger . . .

Did Tharold Simon work out? He's another guy they could pick in round 4 or 5.

  3. I saw that DT Tommy Kelly was released by Oakland yesterday. And I believe Richard Seymour is still an FA? With Kelly, I believe the Bears made a minor run at him a few years back but lost out to Oakland. Both (Kelly/Seymour) might still have enough to be 'rotational players' as you suggest. Don't know the Bears would need both but maybe one or the other.

Tommy Kelly is a loser. He got a fat contract and never showed up after. I want him nowhere near the Bears and I'd be surprised if any team picked him up.

  4. 11-12 wins?? I say 9-7 next year based off of what I know.

To be a 10-12 win team:

    1. Webb has to be much, much better but this time at RT.

    2. Bushrod has to be good, not average like he's always been.

    3. Jeffery has to be good, not average again.

    4. McClellin has to have 7-9 sacks.

    5. They have to stay healthy.

    6. Cutler has to be better + buy into this new system.

    7. For once, Forte has to stay healthy.

    8. Martellus Bennett has to earn his money and Earl Bennett has to stay healthy.

    9. Hester has to be somewhat impactful on KR/PR.

    10. They have to come away with 2-3 draftees who contribute right away, particularly at G, where the thought of Carimi and Brown being the starters at G makes me want to vomit.

For me, that's too many IF's to consider them a "11-12 win team," sorry.

  5. Saw an article on ESPN Chicago about how we are getting more athletic at the LB position, possibly hinting at the fact that the Bears may deviate away from that cover 2, still stick with a 4-3 front, but play their LB's like it's a 3-4. The more I look at these signings, the more I like them. I'm all for more athletes. Hopefully we get Arthur Brown and everything will be golden.

The only issue I have with Brown is that he gets knicked up a bit. He plays through it, but that doesn't always transfer to success on the field. Otherwise, I don't see many weaknesses in his game.

  6. You know I was wondering why all these player are jumping to the Dolphins? It must be the money....because the way I look at it...when was the last time the "fins" made it into the playoffs, or better yet had a wining season? I cant remember its been so long....just sayimg

    1. Money

    2. Money

    3. Money

    4. Weather

As funny as that may seem, it's true. There is no question that Jeff Ireland is the worst GM in football. He repeatedly makes stupid signings, trades, and draft picks. He even is a gigantic scumbag.

  7. Not surprisingly, you confuse the concepts of which we spoke. Obviously scrubs like Scott would sign, because if he didn't there's a possibility that he doesn't sign south of the Canadian border. But it remains to be seen if Chicago can pursue and tempt the high price, high profile free agents. I believe word from respected vets like Urlacher holds value for those all-stars searching for a new team.

So you honestly believe that if they would've announced Urlacher wouldn't be back on March 10, Bushrod and Bennett wouldn't be with the team right now?

  8. This is kind of a given. I have all the faith in the world in Jay Cutler to have a pretty good year next year, maybe more than I should have...The picks will still be there but I can see 4k yards and ~30 TDs this season.

Everyone said that last year too. No one is a bigger fan of his than I am, but I've lost faith in a sense that I'm not going to believe that with a whole new system (again) that he'll play THAT well this year.

  9. It's only a bad move if they count on Kellen Davis to do much. Davis was a pretty good #3 TE for the Bears. He was an ok blocker and looked like he might not be inept as a receiver.

I take Kellen Davis over our current #3 TE Kyle Adams.

"He looked like he might not be inept as a receiver?" You did see more than 0 games he's played in, right?

  10. Anybody else find it a little creepy how Dan Pompei keeps calling him Tommy Zbikowski? Even Brad Biggs keeps writing articles about him coming home. Who the hell cares? Have the Bears never had a Notre Dame product play in the city of Chicago before? I don't get it.

He is from Buffalo Grove. He's not "coming home" because he played at ND.

  11. Draftteks mock is pretty goofy, that's Tavon....They also have Dallas Thomas going in the 6th round....EJ Manuel in the 4th...and Braxton Cave, the 5th ranked OC isn't drafted at all while TJ Johnson, the 9th ranked OC is drafted in the 4th.

OL is strange. Not that I agree with it, but what year was it when Duke Robinson came out of Oklahoma? Everyone had him as the #1 interior OL and he went in round 6. He's not even in the league anymore. I'm not saying Thomas and Johnson are great or anything but with OL it's tricky. Another example is last year- Mel Kiper had James Brown as a 3rd round guy.

  12. Are you so ignorant to realize all of the moves that have been made were discussed on this board BEFORE they were made?

Yes, the collective of this board could do just as good of a job if we had to make the call on draft picks and personnel moves.

Yeah a lot if us had them signing Williams and Zbikowski.
