Well, I didn't think you got it, seeing as if how you were all confused. But coming from the guy who thinks every player on the Bears sucks except Briggs, Urlacher, Cutler, Forte, and Olsen, I guess I sort of expected you to not get it right away. Or wait, don't you hate Urlacher, too? It was actually division 2 football, but good guess. I'm feeling so awful now that a 7th grader made fun of me. Oh my god, boo hoo. I guess they don't teach you football and certain technicalities about the game in junior high, do they?

Rideau has looked fantastic. I've been to 2 practices, the first 2, and I saw his talents right away. Now, he's starting to get more publicity. If Bennett struggles, I have no doubts that Brandon can come in and help the team.

Danieal Manning was awesome on kicks last year. I love this move, let Devin concentrate on being a WR.
-
The Sunday Conversation, a feature on Sportscenter, will be of Cutler with Mort this Sunday, BTW.

I agree 100% with MadLith. I just want JC to have a good year, KO to struggle yet stay healthy (maybe become the 2nd string), the Bears to win 10+ games, the Broncos to lose 10+ games, and Brandon Marshall doesn't even want to negotiate anymore with what's becoming a mess of a franchise in Denver + their QB situation and he comes to Chicago next year.

You just don't get it, do you? Somebody help me. When you are a slot receiver, you catch the ball in the slot. It's comfortable for you. Going to the X or Y spot on the field isn't the easiest thing. I played receiver. At the pro level? No. But I was an X receiver and when I was put into the slot, it's totally different, and I struggled, as did the slot receiver being moved to the X spot. When we were put back in our regular spots, it seemed so easy again. Am I declaring Rashied the next Marvin Harrison? My god, hell no. But I think he can be solid if he's put in his comfort zone. At the least, like some of you have brought up, he can be a good ST player on a team where we rely heavily on our D/ST.

But nfo also said: which is what I'm agreeing with.
-
It really took nfo to help you guys with that? All I said was he is a pretty reliable WR in the slot. Terra- don't say it doesn't matter where he plays as a WR, because some WR's are more comfortable in a certain spot. Apparently, you aren't too familiar with football. It's like saying- Urlacher had to play OLB, he'd still have to play awesome. Well no, that's a totally different spot.
-
But why fix something that isn't broke? He was pretty damn reliable in the slot. IMO, give him another shot there.
-
You're right. I totally forgot about next year being uncapped.
-
No. They just traded 3 draft picks including 2 in the 1st round to just have him for a few years then say goodbye.
-
Why don't you open your eyes? Please tell me where I said Benson had a good year. Yeah, he dropped them when he wasn't in the slot. He made big catches in 2006 for us (for instance, the one down the team vs Tampa to set up Gould in OT which clinched up homefield).
-
When he's in his environment (in the slot) he's a pretty solid WR.
-
Nothing. I wanted Holt but he's a Jaguar now. I say hold onto that until next year when elite WR's are on the market (Roddy White, Brandon Marshall).
-
Why would you guys want someone to beat up one our WR's. If you haven't noticed or heard, Knox and Iglesias have been with the 3rd string for the most part this whole summer so far. Therefore, Rashied Davis is going to play a solid if not big role on this team this year. He was put in the slot in 2006 and had a good year and was slowly taken out of that role in the following years thus having s*** seasons. Give the guy a break, and make up your minds as to what you want- a WR on "your" team getting the s*** kicked out of him, or winning football games. I'll take the latter.
-
Seriously, what does that even mean?
-
I hope everything turns out to be alright at home. The bottom line is, he's paid to play football, and last year, he was arguably our biggest surprise and maybe even our best DT from week 1 to week 17. I hope he can continue to shed some weight off and play a bigger role this year.
-
The problem was never talent for Bowman. It was a matter of staying healthy. Hopefully, he can continue to remain on the field. He can be a huge factor this year. BTW- rush, it's time to change your sig a bit, don't you think?
-
Wait...who are we talking about?
-
A bit of a scuffle between Bowman and Bennett today... EDIT- today, Bowman left practice with a strained hamstring.
-
Bowman has looked awesome, FWIW
-
I'm so sick of this. They have a good group of guys who can catch- Forte, Jones, Olsen, Hester, and Bennett. Also, Rideau has looked great catching the ball in TC, and Knox + Iglesias might give us some catches. Had a team on the East Coast got Cutler, it'd be a huge ESPN circle jerk. Instead, Buffalo gets TO and that's all you hear about. "Buffalo had 5,000 people here today, how great!" Yeah, except the Bears have had 6,000, 6,000, and 11,000 respectively. Eat it, east coast bias.

In 1-on-1 drills yesterday between DE's and the OL, Alex Brown looked the best of the DL while Pace looked best of the OL. Williams was repeatedly getting toasted by Ogunleye. One time, Brown put Pace right on his a**.
