  1. A month back, he was sure to be a 4th-6th round pick. He ran a 4.49 40 and he's obviously been tearing up these private workouts. Personally, I'll take him over Iglesias. If we draft him, atleast now we have a QB who can bring out everything he does well. His worst "con" are his hands, but he uses his large body to his advantage and is a leader.
  2. http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/mul...lip=Y&rn=16 2 things: 1. It looks like he's having fun out there. When they were all throwing into the net from the goal post, he was slamming his hat down and laughing a little. That's good to see he's getting along with Hanie and Basanez. 2. The way the ball comes out of his hand is just so smooth and powerful. It seems like Basanez's throws take forever to get there, Hanie's are alright, and Cutler's are just on the money 100 mph.
  3. Partying: Cutler > Orton...already
  4. 2. Brian Robiskie, WR, Ohio State ---Either him, Nicks, or Britt will fall to us. I'll guess it's Robo. 3. Darcel McBath, FS, Texas Tech ---Smart player and a leader. We were at TT's pro day (along with the other 31 teams). 4. Henry Melton, DE, Texas ---6'3 260. Not a bad starting point for Marinelli. 5. Tony Fiammetta, FB, Syracuse ---Best FB in the draft and a definite upgrade over McKie 5. Louis Vazquez, OG, Texas Tech ---Strong OG who can compete for a starting job right away. Also, see 3rd round pick. 6. Mike Teel, QB, Rutgers ---I don't like going into the year with Hanie as our 2nd string. I haven't heard anything about veteran QB's coming here, either. 7. Bruce Johnson, CB, Miami ---CB depth. 7. John Gill, DT, Northwestern ---DT depth.
  5. I love SNF games cause I love hearing the different variety of schools for the starters on both sides of the ball for both teams.
  6. The Giants select Hakeem Nicks, WR, UNC.
  7. I can be every member's backup or half of the members' backups, so if they miss those times, I or someone else can make their pick.
  8. Green Bay was a toss up for me. I think winning 6 games last year, adding nobody, and switching defenses will be tough to overcome. As a matter of fact, they could only win 4 or 5 games next year. But opening night in GB- I think that pulls them over the top in an upset. Pittsburgh is tough, but I wouldn't doubt it if we took them down. Every year, big time teams come here and we win (2006- Seahawks, 2007- Broncos/Saints, 2008- Saints/Jaguars). Playing in Chicago, we are a very good team. Seattle will be tough. Playing there is tough whether they're their typical solid team or a bad team like last year. The x-factor is Hasselbeck- if he isn't 100%, they will have another bad year. Plus, I've already started my homework on seeing the game live there. Detroit---yeah, no argument. Atlanta- I agree, but this time it is at night. I think that gives them the advantage. First look told me 1-4, but with some thinking, 2-3 and even 3-2 (or 4-1) is possible.
  9. @ GB 7:20 SNF PIT 3:15 CBS @ SEA 3:05 FOX DET 12:00 FOX BYE @ ATL 7:20 SNF @ CIN 12:00 FOX CLE 12:00 CBS ARZ 12:00 FOX @ SF 7:20 NFLN PHI 7:20 SNF @ MIN 12:00 FOX STL 12:00 FOX GB 12:00 FOX @ BAL 12:00 FOX MIN 7:30 MNF @ DET 12:00 FOX Possibility of starting 1-4. Ouch.
  10. And the Pack probably have a top 5 weak schedule too just because us and Minnesota all play Detroit twice, Green Bay twice, Cincinnati, San Francisco, Seattle, Cleveland, and St. Louis. As for Detroit, they also get all those teams (except Detroit) and GB gets all those teams (except GB).
  11. Which is why I say that I'll take our chances in a shootout in Chicago in potentially cold and/or windy conditions.
  12. I'm not so sure why we couldn't beat ARZ or PIT. PIT is going to be tough to make an argument for, but we are very good at home and I'm going to guess this will be a night game. ARZ struggled on the road last year as well as the cold, and I'm going to guess this will be a night game as well. If this game is at night and/or in November or December, I'll chalk this up as a win. Nevertheless, I'm very anxious for tonight as the schedule comes out. Greeny on M&M thinks we'll have plenty of primetime games which is always awesome.
  13. A fast WR out of Missouri. No thanks. Plus, to get kicked off the team already, he must have done something extremely stupid. I'll pass.
  14. But you like the Cutler trade even though he had 20 TO's? This offense was repeatedly put into situations were they had to come from behind to win because of this defense, which means desperation plays and forced throws. Call me crazy, but this offense was pretty good last year. Just like our offense, Denver's was put into tough spots with their D never getting them a stop.
  15. 2. Juaquin Iglesias, WR, Oklahoma Still on the board: Chung, Delmas, Duke Robinson, Derrick Williams 3. Brandon Williams, DE, Texas Tech Still on the board: Nobody worth mentioning 4. Derek Pegues, FS, Mississippi State Still on the board: Gibson, Jason Williams, Mickens 5. James Davis, RB, Clemson Still on the board: Vazquez, Francies, Casillas, Henry Melton, Orion Martin, Bruton 5. Mark Parson, CB, Ohio Still on the board: Collie, Morgan Trent, Maiava, Veikune, Ogletree That wouldn't be so bad. Parson was a 2nd or 3rd a month back so he's of good value there. I'd rather have Melton, Martin, or Vazquez then Davis. We already have Forte, Jones, Wolfe, and AP at RB.
  16. Exactly. If Harvin is there for us at 49, it gives him another weapon. Cutler-Forte-Hester-Olsen-Bennett?-Harvin is pretty scary.
  17. Last year, with 2 playmakers on offense and a terrible OL, we won 9 games and we were a pretty solid offense. I don't think he's a bad OC at all. Sure, he may not be creative, but I do not care. Move the ball and you can be as dull as you want. With the addition of Cutler, I think we'll be a top 8 offense this year.
  18. I wouldn't doubt it if Tampa released Griese, drafted Freeman, and let Leftwich and Freeman duel it out for the starting job in camp.
  19. A report today says that Harvin could fall into the 3rd. He failed a marijuana test at the combine, and while others did, his "guys" aren't denying it.
  20. Exactly. They say he is uncoachable but that I can't believe. Last year in the NCAA title game, he was ridiculous on a sprained foot. He is a gamer with awesome speed. Like you said, he could be an AD type player, or even a Hester type player when he was still a KR/PR.
  21. I know you asked for his opinion, but I'll give you mine also. I'm not about to give you my life story on a message board, but my job deals with sports so I'm pretty much allowed to watch all this football. Barden- IMO, he could be a 2nd round pick now. He ran a 4.5 I believe and for a 6'6 230 pound WR that's pretty damn good. He isn't too fast in game but he has solid hands and is a willing blocker. Bruton- he had a solid combine and a solid pro day. He's physical with good size, he can hit pretty well, and he's a hard working leader. In the 4th, or even with our 3rd, he wouldn't be a bad pick. His team mate, Terrail Lambert, a CB, had a better pro day and is now probably a 4th or 5th, when 2 months ago, he might have been a 7th.
  22. I like to think of myself as a pretty knowledgable guy when it comes to the draft, but nobody knows it all. Massaqoui hasn't been anything great during his career but most of this hype all comes from pre-draft workouts. Just look at Forte- sure, his career was productive, but he was a 3rd or 4th before his great workouts. If the Bears feel Massaqoui is worthy at 49, so be it. I know plenty of people, whether it was on here or just friends, who loved the idea of taking Forte just not that early. Now, of course it's a good pick. Hopefully, if we do take MM, he's a good player for our team.
  23. Yeah, could be in round 3 actually.
  24. Isn't Clemons a SS? I'll pass.
