  1. No, he wasn't removed from that role. He was expected to contribute as a WR and KR/PR. He's just too damn stupid to do it. Lovie did a lot of dumb things but trying to get your playmaker the ball more than he used to is nothing to be pissed about. He didn't try to teach Hester to run backwards on punts.
  2. This board could run the Bears better than Phil Emery? If we did annual awards, this would be up for dumbest post of the year, hands down.
  3. Apparently the veteran minimum for him is $718k. My fault.
  4. The contract is worth $595k (veteran minimum), I'm hearing.
  5. This would be incredible. I might go through a bottle of lotion and a box of kleenex if this happened.
  6. I guess we'll always disagree on Conte and Wright. Wright was pretty damn good in 2012 when you consider how horrible he was in 2011. Conte, IIRC, has only been a safety for 4 years going back to California. This is also a time where it seems like they want to get younger as a team. With all that being considered, Conte and Wright should be given this year. If they are "just okay" again, they should upgrade next year. As for Zbikowski, he's a ST player at this point in his career. When your twitter picture is one from you playing in college after several years in the NFL, you know your NFL career hasn't gone as planned.
  7. If the Bears 2 OG's this year are a 2012 UDFA and a mediocre hasbeen, this offseason was a bust. I would guess Louis is still an option. That's a fact? At this point I'm not even convinced that he could block me.
  8. RT @seankjensen: BREAKING: #Bears are expected to sign former Buffalo Grove and Notre Dame safety Tom Zbikowski, according to sources. Yawn
  9. If Moss was so good in your opinion in 2012, why don't they sign him instead of Ochocinco?
  10. I highly, highly doubt they can trade down in round 2 for a lower 2nd and pick up a 3rd. They'd probably be getting a 5th if that was the case. I do like the players, however, except Stills.
  11. Or maybe they think Luke Joeckel is better + cheaper for the next 4 years as a LT than Albert as a LT?
  12. Don't be so stubborn. If they were from the 12 worst teams in 2012, I believe 66.7% of them have new regimes, so they actually aren't "from 12 of the worst teams" since they didn't build those teams that were horrible last year. The point is that 12/13 GM's who were polled agreed that this was the correct move.
  13. I want to say it's 14 or 15, but I catch your drift.
  14. He had 400 yards and 3 TD's. If they brought in Ochocinco and he did that, we'd all say he sucks...which he does. Pass.
  15. I feel like all of this belongs in the "Goodbye to Urlacher" thread.
  16. RT @ESPNChiBears: Former teammate of D.J. Williams called the LB, "talented, big, fast and a pretty vocal leader." But "kind of just took a backseat" last yr.
  17. WF chimes in. Bears sign OLB D.J. Williams (1 year, $900,000): A Grade I love this move. The Bears were willing to pay Brian Urlacher $2 million to remain with the team. Urlacher declined, yet Chicago obtained someone better and younger for less than half as much. The only reason this isn't an A+ grade is because Williams doesn't have the best history of staying on the field. He started just one game last year and missed some time in 2011 as well. But this is part of the reason Chicago is able to buy low like this. Getting Williams for $900,000 (he could make as much as $1.75 million if he hits his incentives) is a steal.
  18. Remember this - a lot of people believe this is Urlacher's "replacement," but he can play OLB as well. Like someone else mentioned, he also barely gets any money if he's horrible or messes up (again), so this is a win win situation for the Bears.
  19. Ok, you win. You and jason are better at evaluating players' onfield performances than all 12 of these guys.
  20. This is official. Williams is alright but has had a lot of injuries and has character issues. Blah.
  21. Sean Jensen polled 12 executives throughout the NFL and almost unanimously agreed this was the right decision.
