That would be something, now wouldn't it?
-
While I do like Quinn Johnson, to use a 4th potentially on him would be sickening. I'd much rather have Brannan Southerland in the 6th, or like you said, sign Leonard Weaver.
-
Like you said- highly doubtful he does take the job. But if he did, who takes over? Any ideas, anyone?
-
Going by ESPN, Williams is 6'0. Plus, even if he is 5'10 or 5'11, what does that mean? Wes Welker is 5'9, Hester and Steve Smith are 5'9 or 5'10, and Eddie Royal is 5'9, and all 4 of these guys are either solid, good, or great NFL WR's.

Warner staying in AZ, Leftwhich highly sought after

I wonder what kind of money Leftwich is looking for...? -
BearSox: What do you think of Britt? Me personally, I want Britt or Nicks over any WR in this draft, unless hell freezes over and Crabtree falls to us or Angelo trades up for him. BTW- I think 40 times are overrated. It's a guy running a straight line in short and a skin tight t-shirt. They should run these with a full uniform on. It's probably like 25+ pounds on a guy including a helmet.

You don't have to be fast to be a WR. Fitzgerald ran a 4.63 at the combine and look where he's at.

I bet Leftwich ends up here. He loves Lovie. -
He wasn't good at all. He said he liked Rex, but that was about it. He was a total jerk and asked Waddle if he played in the NFL and pretty much said he wasn't any good. I don't want this ass on our team, sorry.
-
I'm saying I think he'll be a Roy Williams type WR in the NFL with more consistency.
-
I don't want Warner, and I don't want Collins.

Name me 2 successful Florida WR's in the history of the NFL....Exactly. They're undisciplined there and they just ask the guys to get open instead of running crisp routes. Forget Murphy- if you want a medicore WR in the 3rd round, Juaquin Iglesias from Oklahoma will be there. Hell, I'd rather have Derrick Williams from Penn State if he fell to us in the 3rd over Murphy OR Iglesias. We already have a "solid deep threat with speed" in Hester. He isn't great or good, but he isn't bad- he's solid. Nicks, Britt, and Robiskie can all get open, so if that's a concern of yours, these 3 guys do it.
-
But we don't need a RB before a DE. Plus, Scott isn't a compliment to Forte. I think Wolfe will be the speed back, Forte will be the main back, and we'll find a tough, heavy set back to be a power back. But you could find those in the 7th round, like a Herb Donaldson from Western Illinois. He's 5'11 230 and tore up his level of play. I wouldn't mind Scott, but he'll likely be there in the 6th round. A 2 round reach on a small school RB would be a terrible move with how many holes we have on this team.

I agree, BearSox. So many people want DHB but IMO he's the same kind of WR as Hester- they both heavily rely on their speed. Nicks, Britt, or Robiskie are the 3 guys that I want in terms of WR's come April. All 3 are actual compliments of Hester- all are possession guys that could force some coverage into the middle of the field and at that point, Hester could beat them deep 1 on 1. Nicks reminds me of a Boldin type (tough, good blocker, good YAC), Britt reminds me of Plaxico Burress (good middle of the field guy but he's sort of a prima donna), and Robiskie reminds me of a more consistent Roy Williams. Barden is okay. He had trouble getting off jams at the line and his hands are solid at best. I'd probably even rather have Patrick Turner then Barden.

We've found the waterboy!
-
So you want 2 CB's in the first 3 rounds, and 2 guys from Abiliene Christian, a guy from Hartwick, and a guy from Union?
-
I've noticed many of you guys are from places like Ireland, Sweden, Chile, Arizona, Los Angeles, etc. I was just wondering you became Bears fans? Were you born here then moved due to money issues or a new job? Or was it a choice growing up to just pick a team and it happened to be the Bears?

And the Browns, Rams, @ Seahawks, @ 49ers, and @ Bengals.

Rice aiming to make comeback, could Bears figure in?
Ed Hochuli 3:16 replied to Pixote's topic in Bearstalk
I didn't mean it that way, but that's my fault for my wording. I meant to say maybe he'll go out and with his play, maybe some of the other vets will get a kick in the shorts and realize they could become back-ups very soon. -
Exactly. Maybe they'll trade us Fitzgerald instead. Or, maybe we can work out a trade with Houston for Andre Johnson, then trade for Calvin Johnson. Come on, guys like that are untouchable.

I figured Jerry, too. But anyways, at the right price, why not? He could provide some leadership as well as some production. -
Well, it's more like trading 3 picks since we'd be giving up a 1st, two 3rds, and a 5th yet getting back Boldin and a 4th. By the way, I made a bit of a mistake. I now edited it.

Trade 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 3rd next year to Arizona for Anquan Boldin and a 4th round pick. ---From there, we give him a 5 year, $50 million deal. Sign Byron Leftwich- 2 years/$5.5 million. Cut Tait, saving about 4 million. Re-sign St Clair (1 year) and Roach (2 years). Trade Nathan Vasher to Houston for a 5th and 6th round pick. Trade 2nd round pick and a 4th for the Browns 2nd round pick. 2. Duke Robinson, RG, Oklahoma 3. Jason Watkins, RT, Florida 4. Maurice Evans, DE, Penn State 5. Jahi-Word Daniels, CB, Georgia Tech 6. CJ Spillman, FS, Marshall 6. Quinn Johnson, FB, LSU 7. Jeremy Childs, WR, Boise State 7. Herb Donaldson, RB, Western Illinois Thoughts?

Boldin put up great numbers before the Cardinals had Warner, Breaston, and Fitzgerald, so I don't think that's a problem. He was already with an inept offense like the Bears and produced big time.
