Angelo said in the interview in this thread that Brown won't be back if it interferes with Manning's playing time. There's your man.
-
Okay, I was just getting it from nfldraftscout.com. Since you can't copy and paste from there, I'll type the quote: "1/14/09- RT Vernon Carey made a seamless transition from the left to right side and is one of the Dolphins' five key free agents that they need to make a decision on. Carey, a Miami native, may give the team a hometown discount, but not too much. He could command a $10 million-per-year deal because of the scarcity of talent at the position".
-
I read somewhere that his agent and the Dolphins have started talking and while he's probably worth $10 per, he'll likely sign for $8 per, due to the fact that he grew up in Miami and went to The U.
-
Wow, I'm more speechless on what he said about Mike Brown. He pretty much said, as of now, he won't be back.
-
I didn't have Kruger in the 1st, I have him in the 2nd. I didn't get OL until the 3rd because I think we'll sign Jordan Gross, and that would leave us with only 1 OL need (for now), and that's OG.
-
If we get Taylor Mays next year, be ready for a lot of that sh*t. His hit in the Rose Bowl was pad-to-helmet just like that one but whatever.
-
Yet you want Bryant Johnson, who has had clashes with Nolan and Parcells, and has had a reckless driving arrest and a DUI at the same time?
-
I still love Robiskie.
-
You forgot Louis Delmas. I either want him in the 2nd, Pegues in the 3rd, or Bruton in the 4th.
-
Trade out of the 1st for a 2nd, 4th, and 5th. Sign Jordan Gross. 2. Paul Kruger, DE, Utah ---The guy is a machine and has been compared to Aaron Kampman. 2. Louis Delmas, FS, Western Michigan ---Big hitter, leader, and ball-hawk. Can you ask for much more from a FS? 3. Brian Robiskie, WR, Ohio State ---I'm really starting to like this kid. He is 6'2 200 but he has great hands and is a great route runner. Perfect compliment to Hester. 3. Trevor Canfield, RG, Cincinnati ---He is a great run blocker and that's what we need. 4. Zack Follet, OLB, California ---Leader and is pretty athletic. 4. Gartrell Johnson, RB, Colorado State ---After watching the E/W Shrine game and his bowl game, this guy reminds me of Brandon Jacobs. If Angelo really wants to see more Wolfe, we could have our own Earth/Wind/Fire RB combo here. 5. Tom Brandstater, QB, Fresno State ---Another guy who threw the ball great in the E/W Shrine game. He was throwing into the wind with a great spiral, speed, and accuracy. 5. Jarrett Dillard, WR, Rice ---Great route runner but he's small. He has great hands and a knack for the end-zone. 6. Willie VanDeSteeg, DE, Minnesota ---Has had legal issues and without them could be a 4th or 5th rounder. 7. Jon Cooper, OC, Oklahoma ---This pick will wake Kreutz's sorry ass up, maybe. (yes, I know you can't blitz in the EWS game or play anything but a 4-3 D).

Yeah, that's what I expect. No actually, I expected him to also include the amounts he plans on spending for each guy, too. Jesus Christ, give me a break. I don't expect that, but he can atleast say "We need help on the OL and DL, whether it's through FA or the draft". Yeah, because that's so hard to do. Also, it would give away all our secrets!!! MWAHAHAHAHA

I had work and forgot to post it last night but here's what I can remember: 1. Jurko specifically pretty much said that for Angelo to say QB is a need is a joke because any QB will struggle behind such an OL. Angelo said that OL isn't that big of a need quite yet. He specifically mentioned Beekman as playing well this past year, too. IN OTHER WORDS: Don't count on Jordan Gross, or a RT or a RG in the first 2 rounds come April. 2. Angelo mentioned that he thinks the players were fine this past year but the coaching wasn't there. He said for now they'll try some new coaches that have experience and know our system. IN OTHER WORDS: Don't count on Peppers or Suggs in FA. If the Bears defense struggles, Lovie will be sh*t-canned after next season, and rightfully so. 3. When asked about possibly another RB to spell Forte, Angelo kind of moved that one to the side. He just complimented Forte on everything he had done last year. Harry, the one who asked the question, said that Peterson isn't a #2 RB. Angelo also moved that to the side but said he wished Wolfe could have seen the field more. IN OTHER WORDS: He's fine with Wolfe and Peterson, and I'm guessing Wolfe gets plenty more touches next year.

No. If you had read the article, it said: agent Carl Carey said, per Mortensen

Why?

I was just messing with ya. Honestly, I hope Marinelli does his thing with Mark. Anderson only has 1 move so I hope Marinelli can put more in his arsenal.

Tillman was hurt basically the whole season
Ed Hochuli 3:16 replied to GakMan23's topic in Bearstalk
Tillman is a favorite of mine. The ordinary fan watches a game and sees him "getting burned" and "WR's catching it in front of him" but I'll always defend him for 4 reasons. 1. Half the time, these people are clueless when it comes to football. 2. It's our stupid f***ing scheme that tells him to let the WR catch it then go for the strip. 3. Most of the time, it's Payne's/Manning's/Brown's job to get the WR deep (see: Andre Johnson) but they don't so it looks like Tillman is at fault. 4. Like Connor said, he gives 110% 100% of the time. -
Who the hell is that?
-
He had a press conference already announcing it. It seems like Carroll hates this decision.
-
#1- Fitzgerald's wife has a restraining order against him. Perhaps his character isn't all fine and dandy as many perceive it. #2- Boldin > Welker. You'd be nuts to take Welker over Boldin. #3- Lee Evans, Houshmanzadeh, Dwyane Bowe, and maybe even Berrian are all better WR's then Antonio Bryant.
-
No, but both are old, making significant money, and they're on medicore or bad teams. Something tells me these 2 teams would atleast answer a call about the 2 guys.
-
Call me nuts, but I'm not really high on these 3 guys, and for reasons that you mentioned. Haynesworth has always been called lazy (just what we need, another one of those), Peppers had a bad year last year but a good one this year (playing for huge money?), and Suggs has never been a pure DE in the NFL (so his numbers in the end might not reflect the money we paid him). I don't know. I'd like to see us possibly try to trade for one like we did Wale. I have 2 guys in mind- Aaron Schobel (Buffalo) or Patrick Kerney (Seattle). Both guys were hurt a ton last year, and both are in their early 30's in terms of age. Schobel played in every game in 2007 but he only had about 7 sacks. Kerney, on the other hand, played in every game in 2007 and he had 15 sacks, similar to Peppers but the other way around. However, Kerney just got a $40 million deal in 2007, so I'm not sure we'd be willing to pick that up. Yet, he's 32 so maybe Seattle could be trying to rebuild?

No, I was agreeing on Barkley. I'm just saying- I hope that isn't a sign of things to come. Also- I love McDonald as well. He's a freak. As for Hall (RB, WR, S), he reminds me of a taller Noel Devine. Very quick and slippery.
