  1. I think it's just a wrinkle, relax guys. And I don't get how you guys can say Devin isn't a good guy to do this with because everytime he catches a screen he goes nowhere. Against Minnesota, he caught a screen for about 15 or so yards. Maybe there's a stat I don't know about? If we try it, I hope we do a little bit of it this week and if we're up 2 or so TD's.
  2. This would be exciting. No better team to try it against then the Lions. Can Devin really learn all of this? /joke Here it is from yahoo.com.
  3. I wonder what the possibilities are for cutting Hunter after the year to gain some cap room to sign a guy like Tauscher, Goff, or Houshmandzadeh.
  4. Coach- Jeff Fisher, Titans (Mike Smith, Falcons) Defensive POY- Albert Haynesworth, Titans (Justin Tuck, Giants) Offensive POY- Drew Brees, Saints (Clinton Portis, Redskins) MVP- Drew Brees, Saints (runner-up: Clinton Portis, Redskins) Offensive ROY- Chris Johnson, Titans (runner-up: Matt Forte, Bears) Defensive ROY- Chris Horton, Redskins (runner-up: Curtis Lofton, Falcons) Thoughts? Yours?
  5. I realize that. Just a little of me being bored during a bye week.
  6. If they get 4 games, appeal it, play Sunday, and still get 4 games after the appeal, their next game back will be the game after the Bears.
  7. Orton 19-31, 232 yards, 2 TD Forte- 21 rushes, 116 yards, 1 TD, 7 catches, 61 yards Jones 9 rushes, 38 yards, 1 TD Olsen- 3 catches, 26 yards, 1 TD Davis- 4 catches, 43 yards Hester- 2 catches, 54 yards, 1 TD Lloyd- 3 catches, 48 yards Defense- 3 INT, 1 FF, 5 sacks, 1 TD Bears 41-13
  8. That's true. But, I'm just saying. If he really "loves" being reunited with Turner then he'll take less money. Plus, as we've seen so far, this reuniting has worked out, as Lloyd has performed very well when he's been on the field.
  9. I'd love to feast on this a**hole one more time- too bad it won't be this year.
  10. Let Brown and Clark walk. Brown, unfortunately, isn't the same and we have a blocking TE with good hands waiting in the wing in Kellen Davis. Sign JSC to a 1 year, $2.5 million offer or something (unless we sign a free agent OT like Mark Tauscher, who's currently a Packer). Keep Orton under his current deal until he shows us he can keep this up, maybe even into next season. Sign Lloyd for something like $4 million over 2 years, if he'd take that, unless he's totally selfish. I guess we'll really see how happy he is being reunited with Turner if the Bears set that deal on the table. The last thing I want is for him to become a cancer after getting a multi-year deal, like he has in the past. (Hopefully) Sign Mike Goff, current OG for San Diego, to a 3 or 4 year deal at around $7 million a year. He's 32 and he doesn't deserve $10 million a year, like what Faneca got. Plus, he's from Illinois. If this happened, we could go elsewhere, rather then OG, with our 1st round pick, maybe for a safety or another OT.
  11. He's just going to come in here and say something along the lines of "STFU, expert " Seriously though, time for a banner change.
  12. I was looking at the opponents in 2009, and I know it's not even close to this season being over, but, next year we have: Rams Cardinals Browns Lions @ Bengals @ Seahawks @ 49ers @ Lions Pretty easy. Thoughts??
  13. I was just going to say that, DB. We play them in 5 weeks. So, we need this investigating to take 2 weeks, then for them to get 4 games, then for them to appeal so then they'll each get 3 games but that will take up a week, and then they won't play against us. Sorry for being so confusing.
  14. IMO, we should sign Mike Goff (current Chargers OG) in the offseason for a little less then Faneca money, keep Beekman at guard, re-sign JSC for 1 or 2 years, and then waive Tait. Whenever Kreutz's deal is up, say good-bye, move Beekman to center, and stick Buenning in there.
  15. Did we watch the same 2006 season? Because we must have if you think Manning had a good rookie season. He was irrelevant and really didn't do anything right. And no, it's fine if you think Tillman and all them guys should be playing better but I'm not about to say it's sad. Oh, and IMO, Dvoracek hasn't been a dropoff. If you ask me, tackles from a DT isn't a telling stat. The object for a DT is to blow up runs and force what would have been a run up the middle outside and let your LB's get a TFL, and on that note, Dusty is still doing that.
  16. Not sure. However, I bet Miller is released soon because Williams is expected back hopefully by November 2. BTW- I'd like to see Buenning get a shot. Garza has been awful this year after being, IMO, our most consistent OL last year.
  17. He's a 2nd year player, leading the Chicago Bears in tackles, he lays some huge hits, and on Sunday he was everywhere picking up a sack and an INT. And no, that isn't sad. It's called "exciting" when you know if he can stay healthy he is going to be a very good player some day.
  18. 1. Actually, Briggs is playing that well. 2. Payne has been our best defensive player.
  19. 2 questions: If you were starting a team and you could only take 2 players off the Bears (no other teams), who would they be? Can be 1 offense, 1 defense, 2 defense, or 2 offense. If you could add any 2 current players to the current Bears roster, who would they be? Can be 1 offense, 1 defense, 2 defense, or 2 offense. Mine would be: 1. Forte and Briggs 2. Logan Mankins (OG, New England, 26 years old) and Troy Polamalu (S, Steelers, 27 years old).
  20. Forte leads rookies in total yards, and leads the Bears in receptions. In my mind, that puts him as the leading candidate.
  21. He's not only a ST stud, but he's a defensive stud. He's done an admirable job filling in for the injured Nate Vasher, and even when he comes back, he'll be watching the game standing behind the white line with how well Corey has played.
  22. What are your top 5 surprises and disappointments? Top 5 surprises: 1. John St Clair- the guy is handling some of the best DE's in football. 2. Kevin Payne- who knew this guy would be our leading tackler? 3. Matt Forte- I knew he was a stud, but I didn't know he'd be the favorite to win OROY. 4. Devin Hester (WR)- I was one of those guys who said he'd never be a good WR. Well, he's proving he can catch bombs and slants. 5. Kyle Orton- I had no idea he'd be this f***ing good. (honorable mention- Dvoracek, Harrison, Lloyd, Idonije, Beekman, Wolfe on ST) Top 5 disappointments: 1. Tommie Harris- the highest paid and "best" DT in football and he has 1 sack and not even double digit tackles. Uncalled for. 2. Roberto Garza- in my mind, he was our most consistent OL last year. This year, he's getting toasted. 3. Mike Brown- I understand he's coming off tons of ACL surgeries, but he's lost a good 1.5 steps. 4. Adewale Ogunleye- he hasn't done anything all year. 5. Devin Hester (KR/PR)- he seems disinterested there and he seems to be doing more dancing rather then hitting a hole in a heartbeat like he used to. (honorable mention- Anderson, Tait, Vasher, Bob Babich)
  23. Taylor Mays There have already been posts about it.
  24. Taylor Mays might fall due to how he goes for the big hit instead instead of wrapping a guy up for an easy tackle so I think he may fall to us. It is not a very deep S class this year like it is a RB or OT class. However, I don't see us trading up as Angelo would never trade a 3rd to move up 4-7 spots to get a guy. I think we're pretty set on OL, believe it or not. St Clair has done a good job on great pass rushers (Allen, Freeney, Peppers, I know I'm forgetting others) and Williams is a young player who will hopefully be a good one. I do think an OG in the 2nd or 3rd is necessary, though. I think we'll draft a C in next year's draft in the first 3 rounds as Kreutz is aging. There is no way Black falls to the middle of the 2nd. He is projected to be a middle-late 1st round guy. I wouldn't mind Fulton though and possibly trying to move him to OG.
