Orton chosen over Grossman as starting quarterback
Ed Hochuli 3:16 replied to 'TD''s topic in Bearstalk
I totally agree. The only question- who to bring in? I wouldn't mind Kyle Boller, but I don't see Baltimore cutting ties with him especially with the fact that Joe Flacco doesn't look very good and Troy Smith, a 5'8 guy, is their starter. -
I thought he was a very solid ST player just by watching. There could be the small things (yet big things) I miss in the course of watching the KR/PR, either Hester or the opposing teams', like missing blocks or whatever, but he is always in on tackles. He is a loss but not a huge one, not season changing or anything. This is where losing Ayan looks big to me.

Sometimes Brian looks so bad in games, and yet when you look back at stats, he has 10-15 tackles.

It's not like KJ is Barry Sanders or anything, pal. AP has always done a good job when having to fill in the starting role for a week or 2. Wolfe is a good 3rd and long/2nd and long type back because he can give you an instant 10+ yards on a screen play. Quit downing all our guys. Christ. I know I have very little confidence we can have a good year but I don't make solid/good players out to be bad and bad players out to be good/solid.

I loved the Harrison pick at the time. I had faith he could put his off the field issues to the side and be a dominant NFL force, and he's proved me right. I can say, honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of the Davis pick. He is looking good, though.

I've been saying for months it's going to be a 3-5 win season. Our defense is good, but injury prone and are getting slower a bit. Our OL is bad and would have been even with Williams. Our QB situation sucks (although if you ask Bears88, if we start Grossman we'd go 19-0). Our RB is talented but he is a rookie from a small school so we can't expect around 1600 yards or anything. Our WR group sucks, and our great looking young TE (Olsen) seems soft.

Orton chosen over Grossman as starting quarterback

Bears88 Quit making excuses for Grossman and downing Orton. Nobody cares that you want to get in bed with Rex while Orton watches. Neither guy is the answer, but when you get the snap, run backwards, and either take the sack or throw off your back foot into the middle of coverage, you aren't going to succeed...at all. And that, sir (or is it mam?), is what Grossman does. When we have our top 5 pick next year, Harper or Stafford will be our QB (hopefully a franchise one as well). Although, you probably think they suck. -
How can you even say that? Hester A. Brown M. Brown Urlacher T. Harris Vasher Tillman M. Anderson Hillenmeyer Berrian
-
Olsen looks soft out there but I like Davis. Nobody can take Dez's spot, though.
-
I'd love to see Forte have a 8-40/TD game. I'd also love to see Orton step up in front of Rex and to see Hanie play well again.

Looking back, what offseason moves should've been made?
Ed Hochuli 3:16 replied to selection7's topic in Bearstalk
It's been covered here already- but tagging BB and not going after Faneca comes back to haunt us. Berrian looked good in the 1st Vikings preseason game (for what it's worth) and now with CW going down, Faneca would have been huge for us. -
If Mike Brown is going to do his annual hurt-job, I hope it's after the Carolina game- I'd love to see him lay the wood on Moose.
-
I agree. What a moron JA is! Drafting bums like Mark Anderson, Briggs, Vasher, Tillman, Hester, Urlacher, Alex Brown, and Mike Brown is totally un-called for!!!!!!11

I have no idea what you just said. With that being said- can you do it for me, perhaps?

He also dropped 3 passes just when I was watching. What a joke he is. Joe Montana could be throwing him the ball and he'd still drop 'em.

Then why the Bears?

I was looking for the DEVIN HESTER YOU ARE RIDICULOUS Joniak call as a ringtone, and I found a site where you can make ringtones. www.cellfish.com I was wondering if 1. anyone knows a site where it is and 2. if not, can you make one for me? I'll PM you my number if it needs it to send the ringtone to. I'm not exactly high tech so I don't know how to make them. Thanks guys!

We could trade Wale. With so much depth at DL with Adams, Baldwin (if he makes the team), Anderson, Bazuin, Brown, Dvoracek, Harris, Harrison, Idonije, and Toeaina. Although, I'm not sure how ready Bazuin is. If he can handle it, can Idonije be a DE if we need him to be? Otherwise, we'd only have Anderson, Brown, and Baz as our 3 DEs with a butt-load of DT's.

Okwo stinks. Under-sized, soft LB- why in the hell did we draft him?
-
Watch Lovie use Saturday as leverage to start Rex- if Orton throws an INT and a TD with around 80 yards, and Rex throws a TD for around 100 yards, does he get the job? I sure hope not.
-
Orton can have an OK year (14 TDs-11 INTs) and we can still be bad. Urlacher's neck/back can act up on him and/or his age might catch up to him a bit, Briggs plays unsatisfied now that he got his money, Payne or McBride don't show anything, Forte plays like a rookie from Tulane, our OL can be pretty bad again, and our WRs can play like...well...like we really don't have any WRs like many think.

Tebow isn't a pro QB and that's been said so many times by Kiper and company. I did forget Beanie, though, like you said. Could have been a top 10 pick had he came out this year. 6'6, 320. 1st team all-SEC.
