  1. Johnny Unitas was doing it against the 2nd string D today, but if Hanie plays like that again next week, you can count on your boy doing it against the 3rd string in week 3 of the preseason.
  2. Great. Now we're back to the same OL as last year (not that CW was going to be the savior or anything this year, but...) thus it will make Forte look medicore. Then, we'll be going with another RB and an OT last year and blah blah blah, same old sh*t again. Matthew Stafford, welcome to Chicago (hopefully, if we even get a top 3 pick, that is).
  3. Couldn't agree more. Was at work for the game except the final drive and he looked really composed. Stepping up in the pocket, rifle throws, perfect spirals, and seemed like he had leadership among the guys. Hopefully he didn't look this good just because it was against the 3rd string KC defense.
  4. I know it's just a preseason game but with so many questions (who looked better- Rex or Kyle?, how did Forte look?, how did Bradley look?, etc), I thought it'd be a good idea.
  5. I have STs and I hope this doesn't mean all the free places to park 3-4 blocks away won't all of a sudden be blocked off. We usually park by McCormick Place and it's free and in the 3 years we've been parking there, never have we been bothered. What are the Bears doing??
  6. The Jets are a 7 or 8 win team with Favre, and I will still stand by my pick of Buffalo winning the WC. I think the Jags will decline since they still have no WR and I just think now that Garrard is getting media attention, I think he will fall, but still be a good QB, just not as good. I see Buffalo winning 8 or 9 games and stealing the WC.
  7. If he were to go to TB, his name being on ESPN every 3 minutes would slowly fade. Now that he moves to the East Coast, ESPN gets to blow him even more now.
  8. He was a rookie in 2005. Can't we cut him some slack? Rex was drafted, when, in 2003, and he was still fumbling snaps like it was going out of style. And don't blame the injuries.
  9. Seeing as if how it never happened to Orton in 2005 and yet it happened a ton to Rex in 2006 and 2007, it probably is Rex's fault. Orton fumbled the snap from Beekman, a 2nd year player, not Olin, so it was probably a young player mistake. A veteran center in Kreutz who is one of the best ever at his position doesn't have a weak spot like that thus it is Rex's fault.
  10. I hate to give a Bears88 post but... Accuracy- we can't turn the ball over. If Forte can run it well with a little help from GW and AP/KJ, and we don't throw any INTs, we'll be in business. It's really that simple. We don't need downfield passing, just a couple long ones here and there.
  11. Exactly. Bears88 calls Orton a clipboard holder and yet he thinks Rex is some kind of God-sent QB. Right then, be a baby and cry all the way home and cry yourself to sleep and don't show up to practice tomorrow. Right?
  12. Tommie, Hester, Forte. Tommie is one of the best defensive players in the league. Every year, he has the potential to win DPOY and you can only say that with a few other guys. He is just a beast, and like somebody said, doesn't let it get to him- every day of TC he's signing autographs for people, taking pictures, and joking around. Hester speaks for itself. Every game, I like to predict before-hand who might have a huge game and every time I always get the feeling he's going to take one to the house. He is just something else out there with his shiftiness, patience, and explosion. Like Tommie, every day of TC he's signing autographs for people- doesn't let being the most exciting player maybe the NFL has ever seen (besides maybe Barry Sanders) get to him. Forte was a guy I wanted for a month or 2 before the draft. He had great speed, power, and explosion in college which is why many scouts had him ranked higher on their boards than Mendenhall. I met him in Mokena at Triple Threat Sports about a month back and he was a down to earth, quiet type of guy yet shook my hand and took a picture with him, which even at autograph signings some guys don't (Reggie Bush, Chad Johnson). From what we've all heard, he's been the most impressive player at Bears camp, most impressive rookie in the NFC North, and one of the most impressive rookies in football. I have a feeling he's going to be a great player soon.
  13. I haven't seen alot of Chris Williams, but he seems like a laid-back, nice guy. If that's the case, we should have drafted Otah as he's a nasty SOB. He may need more time than Williams and he may have less skill, but the intimidation factor on Otah's part washes out the less skill. Figure it out, CW.
  14. I used to respect him, until he came out on national TV, balled his eyes out, and now he wants back in when the team made it clear they have moved on. "Why don't you want me?" Because they moved on, dope. "The Packers are better with him then with Rodgers", yeah, and Miami is better with Matt Ryan then Henne, yet they took Long to rebuild. The Pack are sort of rebuilding yet expect to compete, which is understandable. On the other hand, Brett thinks it's a stupid choice by Green Bay and all that other garbage. Go away, you piece of crap. You're tainting your legacy of a team guy and a guy who, even by rival teams' fans, are respected- you couldn't say that about any other QB besides maybe Peyton because people hate Brady because of the spy-gate. All in all, the team wants to move on. Go away, and we don't need your BS here every offseason of whether you're staying or going.
  15. Why do we need him when Rex Grossman is the best QB ever??
  16. All for the same reasons that I posted in the "eating crow about Forte" thread.
  17. I loved him 3 weeks before the draft and it looks like Brian-nostradomus-Bear got it right. John Clayton said (I know, many of you don't think he really goes to camps) that Forte has been the most impressive rookie so far in the NFC North in TC. He said his vision and shiftiness has been very good, as well as his power and speed combo.
  18. Right. We definitley have the WRs and TEs to have a fairly good "mid-range" attack, and Orton would be the better QB to do that. The way he played last year in the Green Bay game when it like -25 wind chill showed me alot. Clark and Olsen are good for 5-10 yard gains and Bennett might have a very good year if we play like that since he has such good hands. Hester and Lloyd might suffer a bit statistically but they'll be able to catch a couple deep-balls a game especially after short throws to guys like Olsen, Clark, Bennett, and Wolfe. BTW- if we're going to try to use the mid-range passing game, Hass might be a good guy to have on the team.
  19. Tillman, Alex Brown, Hester, Vasher, etc, AKA a non-first round steal for us. I'm going to say Harrison. He's an absolute monster when he's not an off the field nuisance. He is a big man and with Tommie drawing double teams, he could have a 3-5 sack year. Not to mention, when we took him, he was the best defensive player on the board. If not for his off the field problems, he would have been a mid-2nd round pick.
  20. I'll bet you whatever you want because Hester got 4-30 at the least not only because of his skills as a PR and KR, but because he is a WR, #1 or a #3. However, Cribbs, unless I'm mistaken, is nothing more then a KR and PR stud.
  21. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Bears88 eats, sleeps, and drinks Bears/football knowledge. He knows everything about everything. I'll admitt- I didn't really know much about him before we drafted him, but with such a deep DL, he is going to have to give everything he has and make plays in TC and in pre-season. I think he's going to play a role on this team for sure.
