Clayton said Orton has looked better. I trust him.

Huge! Love the fact that it's based of his WR performance. Good move by JA!

Make an argument for your boy Rex then.

OMGZZZZ A TANDEM OF TOMMIE AND DUSTY WILL DOMINATE FOREVER That was the thought seeing as if how Dusty was a freak coming out of Oklahoma. He can't stay healthy and, not to compare his skill to Mike Brown's skill, but we can't exactly rely on him. Bringing in the best DT available with our second 3rd rounder in Harrison was a move made 1. to get more DL depth and 2. because relying on freaky-Dusty was impossible (bringing in Steltz for the same reasons except because of MB, IMO).

So......we agree??

Hester says he'll sit out all year if he has to. sportingnews.com

Captain Short-Post, instead of bashing others for their ideas by posting 5 word 1 sentence posts, go more into detail. What's your solution?
-
How do you know what we'd get in return in terms of players? If we would have made a trade after the 2005 season for Mike Brown and got a 2nd and 3rd, and with that 2nd, we got Hester, you'd be ripping on the idea. "Trade our heart and soul for Hester when we don't even need him" and wow, look how he turned out. So I guess what you're saying is give Hester whatever he wants?

Williams had a minor injury to a knee today. Reports are they took him and stretched it out a bit. Hopefully nothing serious...

Quit adding so much detail to your posts. I think if we could get a 2009 2nd and 3rd rounder, and then a 2010 3rd OR 2nd rounder, I'd do it. Maybe with not as many TDs, but I'm sure another guy on this team can get us to the 25+ every time. Especially if he pulls a Scottie Pippen and starts refusing to do things in pre-season games.

I hope Rex can be a 79 in real life. Also, if Forte is a 92 speed in real life with a 90 truck ability, that is looking up. BTW- Is Hester's speed still a 99 or 100 or whatever??
-
Don't forget Bennett and Rideau. IMO, Hass should probably get atleast a couple passes if we are out of it in the end this year like the way we were last year, but he more than likely won't.

"How can a man live these days on 440K?" Good thought, Devin. You deserve a raise however this is a stupid time to ask for one, as said by many people here. Don't even respond. Just another useful, good post by Bears88.

Congrats to MadLith. If you have any balls at all, you'll name your kid Ditka.
-
If we have as bad of a season as I and many others think, we'll land Matthew Stafford next season anyway given he leaves Georgia early.
-
Solution- he's the best ever at his position at a position that with a medicore offense you need big help from, and that's what Devin gives you with TDs and good field position. All in all, pay the man.

Hester didn't show up to TC today. (neither did Tillman, Kreutz, Dvoracek, and another player, but that's for another thread at another time). Thoughts??
-
Maybe we can run that play they run in Longest Yard where the O-Line goes out and stands in front of the WRs, only for Rex/Kyle to throw Hester/Lloyd the ball and for the line to block all the way down field.

Huge news. A rookie OT is important to have in camp every day.
-
I'd try to lock him up for a shorter contract, something around 4 years, $32 million. I know 8 per might be too much, but if we give him 6-7 per for 6-9 years and he has a serious knee injury that leaves him 1 or 2 steps slower, atleast we wouldn't be locked up giving him 6-7 per for that long. EDIT- Crap, you kind of just said that. I only read the 6-43 part of your post until after I made mine, which is when I read it all.

It's too bad the Saints still have no RB or D. If they had somewhat of a D, any part of it, whether it'd be a good pass rush, a good secdonary, or a good set of linebackers, well they don't have any of those.
-
What's everyone's guess on the contract Hester is going to want? I'm going to say 8 years, $56 million. Higher or lower??
-
After a tough injury, he came back and showed flashes of why he was highly touted when drafted. He caught a couple touch passes including I believe his only one against New Orleans where he caught it in between 2 DBs. Just ask jason, who made a good post right above me about Bradley. Well, we don't exactly have to have a true #1, and it's OK if we didn't but had alot of solid-good players, but we really don't. All Hester and Lloyd can do is catch the long ball, Booker could be like Moose, Rideau- I'm not sure I know a damn thing about him, Hass will one day be elected into the practice squad HOF, Bennett and Monk have low expectations as rookie WRs usually struggle, and Bradley is always hurt. It'd be different if we had Jennings and Driver or Berrian and Rice.

Parcells hates the "R" word, but I have to say it. R..re...rebui...rebuild.

That's what you feel. He was our best ST tackler and best ST blocker, IMO, and you can't just fill him in with 1 guy. It's going to take a collective extra 10% from each guy. Secondly, I don't see how our OL is improved. Williams is a stud but he's a rookie and besides Joe Thomas and few others, rookie OT's tend to struggle. He will show flashes but I think he'll struggle most of the time this season. Last year, Berrian looked good coming into the year, we thought Cedric could do more, we had no idea Moose was going to blow as much as he did, we didn't know Vasher and Tillman would get hurt, and we had our best ST blocker and best ST tackler. This year, we have an aged Marty Booker, we have Hester who nobody knows if he'll progress in the WR department, and then a significant drop-off starting with the injury proned Mark Bradley. And actually, going into last year, I truley felt we'd be 10-6, and that isn't because we were coming off a trip to the Super Bowl.
