It was 4.27 according to the NFL Network
-
I'd give him Benson and a 4th for Roy Williams.
-
Kelly just may go to Buffalo at 11, and if not, then he's a lock to go to them in round 2, if not earlier in round 2.
-
Said it once and I'll say it again, I'd rather have Johnson or Booker.
-
Yes, he is a FA. Well, according to this anyway http://walterfootball.com/free2008S.php And yes, his performances in the playoffs impressed me.
-
Be realistic and tell the man the truth: his mock is garbage. You want Woodson? He hasn't even worked out and his motion is slower then God knows what. Also, do you really think Sweed will still be there in round 2? He's arguably the best WR in this draft, and being a former team-mate of VY, he probably goes to Tennessee at 24 or whatever it is. If they pass on him, he probably doesn't get by Dallas, San Francisco, Oakland, Baltimore, Denver, or NYJ.
-
Then let's stay away from him.
-
That's my fault, I didn't mean to quote you on that.
-
Eugene Wilson, Atari Bigby, Gibril Wilson, Yeremiah Bell, and Hamza Abdullah. I'd call 2 of those good, and 3 are solid.

Although I don't hate Benson and I don't think he sucks like many do, I think that if we could sign a guy like Jacob Bell, and a decent G, Mendenhall wouldn't be a bad selection with our 1st pick, and then Schuening or Albert (although he won't fall to us in round 2) with our 2nd. Also, if we draft Mendenhall, I'd like to see us trade Benson. Here's my mock, and I'm doing this with a prediction we trade Benson for a 3rd. 1. Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois 2. Carl Nicks, T, Nebraska 3. Roy Schuening, G, Oregon State 3. Quinten Demps, S, UTEP 3. Trevor Laws, DT, Notre Dame 4. Andre Caldwell, WR, Florida 5. Andre Dizon, LB, Colorado 6. Josh Johnson, QB, San Diego 7. Ryan Grice-Mullens, WR, Hawaii

Yet when I said we should take Mendehall I was bashed

Disagree with me all you want, but Dixon AND Brennan are both system guys. Look at VY- he was in a system where he could succeed real well, and now, he can't do anything, and that will be the same with Dixon. Plus, the ACL tear is a killer. I think he'll go in round 6 or 7. Now onto Colt- another system guy. He needs time, like Rex, he's more accurate then Rex, but his throwing motion is so much worse then Grossman's is. If we are going to waste a pick on Woodson, Brennan, or Dixon, then we mine as well go with Josh Johnson, who BTW ran a 4.4 40 today.

His footwork is bad so that's another knock.

Not only last year, but probably the biggest no-brain drafting of JA's career
-
I was just going to post a thread on this. Doesn't it always seem like nobody ever has 1 pick predicted correctly b/c JA always picks some no-namers? In 2006, I had never heard of guys like Dvoracek, Manning, or Jamar Williams. I didn't even have them in my 7 round mock, and the same goes for 2005, when we got guys like Vasher and Berrian. Good to see I'm not the only one who notices JA never goes after the guys that many think we'll take.
-
Couldn't have said it any better.
-
Yeah. What's wrong with that? T in the first, G in the third...
-
First off, he won't get past teams like Oakland, Baltimore, Buffalo, or Denver in round 2. Secondly, he's 6'7, not 6'5. Lastly, the only way we'd be able to get him is if we traded up in the first, but even then, with that new late 1st, we'd probably go with Flacco.
-
Are you suggesting we give up our 2nd and one of our 3rds to move up, and maybe a 2009 5th? I could see us doing that with a team like Jacksonville or NYG, now that you mention it. That way, we could go: 1. Jeff Otah, T, Pitt/Chris Williams, T, Vandy 1. Joe Flacco, QB, Delaware 3. Chilo Rachel, G, USC 4. Andre Caldwell, WR, Florida 5. Simeon Castille, S, Alabama 6. LeTroy Guion, DT, Florida State 7. Chauncey Washington, RB, USC

My guess is that we could put Wolfe or the RB we draft on the practice squad. If Benson has a bad year, he walks after the season, and our starter is AP or the draftee. If not, we might trade Wolfe and a 4th rounder to a team for a 2nd or 3rd. Just an idea...
-
He can't be Emmitt Smith. See, bear trap actually made sentences, while that is a near impossibility for Emmitt.
-
You want Craig Steltz in the 3rd? I'd rather have Quinten Demps, who might be the 3rd or 4th best S in this draft. Steltz is like Wolfe, we use a 3rd on him, but he'd still be there in the 4th, maybe even the 5th. Also, Malcolm Kelly won't get past Buffalo in round 2. Oh, and I'd rather have Slaton, Smith, Johnson, or even Hart then Rice.
-
Good move. Knowing Flacco probably won't be there for us in round 2, I'd like to see us trade our first rounder to a team like Miami or St. Louis. We could them our 1st and we can, in return, receive their 2nd, their 5th, and their 3rd next year. That way, we could be in front of Atlanta and snag Flacco there. However, I'm in between, b/c if we do this, the best OL man we could probably get it Gosder Cherilous.
-
Exactly. Maybe we should just keep Griese and hope there's a great QB draft next year and go after one then. Obviously, this is a great QB draft with Flacco, Henne, Brohm, and Ryan, but we have greater needs like OL.
