  1. Stallworth is restricted, but rumors out of Boston say he could be cut. However, if you want him as your #1, you're out of your mind. Berrian will have a 1100 yard season this year, you watch. It took Steve Smith 3 years before he got 1000, so patience is the key.
  2. It's funny, I was going to do this same thing, but I thought it was unheard of and that I'd get bashed for it. 1 problem- I don't think 7 years, $25 million will be enough for Hamlin, and I think 7 years for Faneca is 2 years too much. If this did happen, I might cream myself.
  3. Oh ok, well here's my "where to spend the money". Faneca- 5 years, $40 million Berrian- 5 years, $32 million Rex- 1 year, $2 million Booker- 2 years, $7 million If we keep Arch and Griese, then this will give us about $13 million or so room left of cap space to sign our draftees.
  4. Oh, alright, so if Faneca was 9 million a year and Berrian 6, we just used 15 million of the 32 we have available? Got it. Thanks for the help!
  5. Since when is $32 million enough for Hamlin, Booker, Hester, OL, Rex, Briggs, and Berrian? I hope that was sarcasm...
  6. I'm confused, so signing Berrian for about $30 million over 4-5 years is all the money we'll have?
  7. Then you want Hester as your #1 next year or what? And what's the big deal with Bryant Johnson?
  8. No, he hasn't, if that was even a question. Yeah, that's exactly what I said on a Bears forum on another site. Does anybody know, all you great # guys, with the cuts of Moose, Miller, and Walk, how much money do we have now to spend? Thanks
  9. When I said 5 years, 30 million, they said it was too much, so that's why I took 2 million off. Booker might only want like 3 million a year. If we wants 4 or more million a year, I'd rather not and use that money toward Faneca or another OL.
  10. Sign Berrian, something like 5 years, $28 million Sign Bryant Johnson, something like 3 years, $12 million Draft a WR in round 5, hopefully Jerome Simpson
  11. per nfl.com I had hopes Andrews would be our starting RT next year. Oh well, we always can get Locklear...
  12. HE GONE!! Just clearing all this money. Hopefully this means a Berrian, and a Johnson/Booker signing in a few days.
  13. Care to explain why not, or are you just going to spam?
  14. I was thinking of DJ Hackett, another possibility for WR as a FA.
  15. Here's a guy I won't miss I just posted this in the "Schefter reports 2 more vets to be cut" or whatever it's called thread. Looks like Walk could be next...
  16. RT Miller will be released The offseason purging continues. The Bears are going to release right tackle Fred Miller. He had two years remaining on his contract and was due a $500,000 roster bonus on March 4 with a base salary of $4 million. Miller is the second veteran to be released along with wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad. Milelr had arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle following the season and is close to being back to 100 percent. More on this development soon. Posted by Brad Biggs on February 18, 2008 05:34 PM | Permalink Bears | D. Walker could be released Mon, 18 Feb 2008 15:40:23 -0800 Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears DL Darwin Walker could be released as early as Tuesday, Feb. 19, unless there is a major re-writing of his contract, according to team officials.
  17. I am so worked up in this I totally forgot we have Wale, therefore, I take my statement back. After Wale retires or whatever happens to him, Anderson can step right in. I just hope he learns how to play the run as well as he plays the pass.
  18. If Johnson can stay healthy. The story of his career in his ineptitude of staying on the field.
  19. Just heard it on ESPN1000 GO GET BRYANT JOHNSON AND RESIGN BERRIAN BABY!!!
  20. I take that back- this is my last mock until a week before the draft (I just couldn't resist ) Mock 1. Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois 2. Joe Flacco, QB, Delaware 3. Oneil Cousins, OT, UTEP 4. Eric Young, OG, Tennessee 5. DJ Parker, S, Virginia Tech 6. Harry Douglas, WR, Louisville 7. Richard Clebert, DT, South Florida 8. Xavier Adibi, OLB, Virginia Tech Offseason Sign Faneca (G, Steelers)- 5 years, $40 million Sign David Stewart (T, Titans)- 4 years, $20 million...28 years old Sign Berrian- 5 years, $28 million Cut Moose, Miller, Arch
  21. But if we sign a guy like Bell or Faneca for G, and then a guy who might be cheap, like Stacy Andrews for T, then I wouldn't feel so guilty not selecting an OL until round 3.
  22. Well OK then let's rephrase. JA said that OL should be picked in rounds 2-7. How unhappy would you be if we went Mendenhall at 14, then Flacco with our 2nd rounder?
