  1. Mack and the Pouncey's are OK.
  2. OMG BUT HE ONLY HAD 1 BAD GAME!!!! HE'S GREAT!!!!!1!1!
  3. Rey Maualuga? He is arguably one of the worst defensive starters in football. He is horrendous. No thanks. When Trestman took over in Montreal, his OL gave up 68 sacks. The next year, they had a complete overhaul of the OL and only gave up 22. I expect at least 2 new starters on the OL in 2013.

  5. I read something where Kromer was the OL coach for 4 years in New Orleans and they were never worse than 5th best in sacks allowed.
  6. It'll be a school: Emery is "The Librarian" and Trestman is "The Professor."
  7. Yeah, I edited it for that reason. They need to he competitive a lot though, particularly on offense or (or offence ).
  8. Never doubt the almighty BrianBear again. In all seriousness, this is such a bold move by Emery. As Jensen put it, they fired a 10-6 coach and hired a CFL coach. My biggest question mark is how the defensive players will react and how much respect they'll show. All in all, no one truly knows right now if it's a good or bad hire. That will be measured on if the Bears win a Super Bowl by February 2018 (or don't but are 10-6, 11-5 with multiple playoff appearances). That gives him 4 full seasons. That might be harsh, but Emery didn't hire him to improve the offense, or to hire good coordinators. He hired him to ultimately win championships.
  9. La Canfora tweeted that he thinks it'll be Arians.
  10. No idea why you'd feel something so absurd.
  11. No DT's who can create pressure up the middle? Really? You know, Henry Melton is still on the team.
  12. This is all in the top thread. BTW, don't forget about Arians.
  13. I think in Bears4Ever's scenario, they sign Wallace and focus on OL in the draft. If that's the case, maybe they cut Bennett?
  14. If they spend $8-10m/year on Mike Wallace, I'll drink a bottle of windex.
  15. He's a lanky guy. At 6'4, he's not even 200 pounds.
  16. Well, I don't know about the ZBS, but Trestman is a WCO guy.
  17. I want Arians; it will be Trestman.
  18. Walterfootball is putting up lists of players who interview with certain teams at the E-W Shrine Game as well as at other draftee workouts in the future. I'll add to the list when I see them added, if admins want to pin this. E/W Shrine Tyrone Goard, WR, Eastern Kentucky Zach Line, FB, SMU Matt Evans, LB, New Hampshire Bradley McDougald, S, Kansas Josh Evans, S, Florida (twice) Christine Michael, RB, Texas A&M ------------- Senior Bowl Johnathan Franklin, RB, UCLA Margus Hunt, DL, SMU Brandon Williams, DT, Missouri Southern Terron Armstead, T, Arkansas Pine Bluff Robert Lester, S, Alabama -------------- Combine DJ Fluker, T, Alabama Lane Johnson, T, Oklahoma Jordan Mills, T, Louisiana Tech Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
  19. But if the Bears do next to nothing in FA with the OL, they have to address it 1st round and worry about their LB's in the 4th.
  20. Ian Rapoport: "Sources: Alouettes coach Marc Trestman spent all day today at Halas Hall speaking with #Bears people again." (sorry for all the posts; just figured I'd keep you all updated.) Now Bruce Arians has been reported a finalist, per Jensen.
  21. Kellen Davis is a pathetic football player. If he's wearing orange and navy next year, it better be in Denver. Jared Cook is a guy I've wanted for awhile. As bowling said, he shouldn't cost much.
  22. One candidate told Michael Wright- "they better keep Marinelli; Trestman can't command a great presence in the room." A former player told Sean Jensen- "if I owned a team, I'd hire Trestman as my head coach" and another said "he's not a yeller but the smartest man in the room. He's a great teacher." Greg Bedard, who used to cover Miami and GB and now writes for the Boston Globe, calls Trestman: "terrific, organized, smart, sought out by NFL coaches for offensive strategy." So, there's both ends of the spectrum. Here's a pro-Trestman CBS article from 2009. This quote from the article works for me: "One of these days [and we fear it may be sooner rather than later] some NFL team is going to figure out that Trestman has one of the best football minds on the continent, and he's going to be lured away. He's the only coach we've ever seen to rival Marv Levy in intensity, preparation, detail and inspiration." It also says he's not an emotional person on the sidelines, which will rub people the wrong way I'm sure, a la Lovie.
  23. Well, I just felt the need to pop in and spit out some facts seeing as if how good, playoff offenses use FB's.
