  1. Nobody said unlimited funds. It's become publicly known the Bears will have a lot of money to spend come March. Melton, Albert, Lichtensteiger, Hartline, and a few of their own FA's isn't out of the question.
  2. OU and USC? Bad years. Michigan? Another unathletic team that lost to an SEC school. MSU? Come on. They beat TCU in a d-bag bowl game by 1. Stanford? He had 10 tackles, no picks, no FF's, etc. Big deal. Remember me, I don't care. People will take this guy because of his leadership skills. This reminds me a lot of Tim Tebow leaving Florida.
  3. Rodriguez is 6'2. He's not going to be a tough match-up for anyone. He's an H-Back, or a FB.
  4. Proved everyone wrong? Against who? BYU, Purdue, Navy, Wake Forest? Wow, I'm impressed.
  5. Yeah, instead draft the slow guy who's "a great guy." Perfect. Anyway, is there anyway they can take Jones, Fluker and Warmack? Holy s***
  6. Emery would be absolutely nuts to not at least place a call to the University of Alabama.
  7. If Melton gets $5-$6m/year, how does that blow $18m?
  8. He's just not an explosive player. This isn't Purdue, BYU, and Pitt anymore. You're playing the big boys now- guys who will also be playing pro football next year or 2014- and you're getting annihilated.
  9. Add Singletary and MIN ST coach Mike Priefer to the list, per Biggs.
  10. Te'o sucks. I really hope, if he's there at 20, that Emery passes.
  11. Albert is a $12m/year guy, and Hartline and Lichtensteiger $3m/year guys. That's only $18m. If you cut Hester and restructure the 2 I said and extend the other 2, you free up a lot of cap room. Plus, Stein is a genius. He added a lot of guys last year with the help of signing bonuses and guarantees when everyone thought they only had half the cap room. It's simply an idea. He was awful last year. His knee is still shot after suffering what was supposed to be a 4-6 week injury. Plus, Carimi was an Angelo guy. Emery has no connection to him. All in all, I think it's a decision he'll make, not particularly what I want to see done. BTW, if you cut Davis and Spaeth, a TE in the 2nd would be necessary, as would a MLB if you let Urlacher walk, unless you trust Roach. If they sign Albert and Lichtensteiger as well as keep Scott & Spencer, an OL isn't a need anymore in round 1 or 2.
  12. Sign Branden Albert, Kory Lichtensteiger and Brian Hartline. Keep Melton, Scott, Louis, Hayden, Roach, Hayes, Spencer, Anderson, and McCown. Release Hester, Davis, Carimi, and Spaeth. Restructure Tillman and Peppers. Extend Jennings and Marshall. Trade down 2. Kevin Minter, MLB, LSU --Urlacher's replacement 2. Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford --Pass catcher, smart, can block. Opposite of Kellen Davis. 3. Brennan Williams, T, North Carolina --Nice shot of youth and depth to have on an OL. 4. Tyrann Mathieu, CB, LSU --Bears need a nickel and a PR. Why not? 5. Mario Benavides, C, Louisville --Played well against very athletic UF in the Sugar Bowl. 6. Marcus Lattimore, RB, South Carolina --A player of this caliber in the 6th round? Can't hurt. 7. Marquess Wilson, WR, Washington State --Labeled a quitter for hating Mike Leach, but he might've been a 3rd round pick had he not left Wazzu.
  13. Really guys? Come on. Will Svitek? How is he any good? He's 30 and has been on IR all year. Loadholt is awful as well. Where did you get that list? Britton is a G. Linkenbach is a G also. And Patrick Mannelly? He's a long snapper. The main 6 are Clady, Long, Beatty, Vollmer, Albert, and Bushrod. They need one of those 6. Period.
  14. Cutler can't play and gets killed. RG3 can't play and Shanahan gets killed. Makes a whole bunch of sense...
  15. Add Darrell Bevell to the list, per La Canfora.
  16. Arians wouldn't be a good choice to you, Bears4Ever?
  17. I don't know how he figures this since he hasn't interviewed yet, but Mike Florio just reported at halftime of the Army All American game that the leader for the Bears' job is Bruce Arians.
  18. Jesus, I feel like a dope. I meant to say he was with Oakland when they lost to Gruden in the Super Bowl.
  19. Yeah, he trained Cutler, Wilson, Weeden, Campbell, Tebow, Clausen and Osweiler. He was the OC/QB coach in Oakland with Gruden when they won it all. FWIW, I also know the Alouettes lit it up this year offensively.
  20. Yeah, the Montreal Alouettes coach. Strange. EDIT- turns out Trestman was Cutler's and Russell Wilson's tutor prior to their drafts.
  21. Seriously, Mike Tice? Are we doing real candidates or just random guys who suck? If it's the latter, I'll say John Schoop. Tice is getting no consideration for the job. He'll be lucky to have ANY job in the whole NFL next year. The realistic options that would probably piss me off is Armstrong, Trestman, or Decamillas.
  22. If not Ogletree, I trade down, pick up a 3rd + a 1st and take Kevin Minter from LSU. ESPN has him as the 33rd best prospect.
  23. I found this from a poster on SoxTalk So much for Louis being good. Looks like, according to this, he was average. Carimi sucks.
