  1. Reid isn't a bad hire but he wouldn't be at the top of my list. Greg Roman and Dirk Koetter would be interesting hires. I know Cutler loves Koetter. Hey, Bill O'Brien maybe? The guy I want, however, is Arians. His team and offense was 7th this year with a rookie QB who had 1 WR + a solid rookie WR. That's kind of similar weaponry that Cutler had. The only realistic options are unproven guys. I doubt Emery brings in Reid, Cowher, Gruden, etc. All of those will probably want personnel power. I can see a college coach before those type of guys. Arians O'Brien Koetter Roman

    Thank god

Wrong. Damn man, do you ever 1) calm down, 2) think, and/or 3) do research before you post?

  4. Wright has been so much more under control this year, though. Yeah, Wright hurting Urlacher was stupid, but it wasn't intentional. Also, as jason always brings up, those guys had no business playing in that game. Wright > Conte
  5. I'd keep Melton, Roach, Spencer, McCown, Hayden, Hayes, Bowman, and Scott. Give Gould a 2-3 year extension; same with Marshall. Restructure Tillman and Peppers.
  6. Are you bitching about Major Wright? And really, Hardin? You're ripping Lovie for taking him (when it was actually Emery, yet if it was Angelo, you'd be blaming him) and then him hurting his neck. Yeah, how dare they take a guy who 5 months later was going to suffer a freak neck injury. They need to hire a team psychic apparently.
  7. I believe Hester is only owed around $1.4m next year. Releasing him won't clear up that much room.
  8. One got suspended, one didn't. Both occasions were because of adderal, so it's not really a PED. It's more of just a banned substance. Except Revis has been out all year, and still Cromartie has been good.
  9. I expected 10 wins, yeah, but I expected a top 10 offense (as my Cutler prediction shows) but a 15th or worse D, with Pepper, Conte and McClellin being the only bright spots. I just figured most of the defense would begin to show their age. It's been the opposite. The funny thing is that I was close with Conte, and by close I mean his safety partner. I thought Major Wright really developed this year. In fact, he made Peter King's midseason all-NFL team back in October or November or whenever. His ability to play the run was the thing that stood out. He also was much more under control on angles to the ball carrier in the open field.
  10. Last year, I believe Sanzenbacher had something like 17 catches and 10 drops. That won't cut it in the NFL. A lot of people wanted him to get a chance this year, but we don't see practices.
  11. Sherman/Browner, Revis/Cromartie, and Jennings/Tillman are my top 3, in no order.
  12. Conte is probably out for the year.
  13. Connor, he thinks every player on the team sucks. Leave him be.
  14. Tillman has turned out to be one of the best DB's in Bears' history. I'm thankful to have gotten the chance to see him play. As for Marshall, he has proven to be a great person and an even better football player. Someone, quickly send the Dolphins a Christmas card, thanking them for giving us a top 3 NFL WR for two draft picks.
  15. But, trading down and picking up a 2nd and a 3rd and then taking Fluker and Jones is a good plan, if they've already signed a LT.
  16. I think he's a prospect that has struggled and has had a very few bright spots. He's a guy you keep around next year as a guy who can compete with a rookie OG or back-up a veteran OG (if you bring one in) along with Louis (if he's put on the PUP list to start the year). I was high on Brown going into the draft and somehow he went undrafted. Keep him around and maybe he can turn into a solid OG. At the very worst, he continues to work at his technique as a back-up.
  17. Somehow this flew under the radar, but Patrick Mannelly signed a 1 year extension today.
  18. The last road opponent is wrong. The final 2 opponents are always NFC teams. Every NFC team plays only 4 AFC teams annually. The final road opponent will be from the NFC West, so either Seattle or St Louis. Right direction, wrong conference. The good news is the other 3 teams in the division will have the same schedule, with the exception of the final road and home opponents and the fact that while the Bears get Baltimore at home, two of the three NFC North teams will have to go to Baltimore. Same with Cincinnati, Dallas, and the Giants.
  19. Sign one of the 6 OT's, Dustin Keller, draft Ogletree in round 1, draft Larry Warford or Alvin Bailey in round 2. Problem solved
  20. Hester is not a UFA after the year. However he is only owed a bit over a million so he'll probably be cut.
  21. If Barrett Jones falls to round 3, I'll s*** and eat it.
  22. Unless you're comparing coaches who have failed and now are successful, then it's alright to use them however you want. I never said Carroll = Belichick. I said Belichick and Carroll have failed and now are good coaches. I say no to Capers for the simple fact that the Bears' need an offensive coach. As for your last point, I never said it's going to work. I said "stink of GB" is a dumb reason not to hire a coach. Because they currently coach on a team that continuously beats the Bears' ass doesn't make them bad choices.
  23. And look at Carroll before USC and Belichick before New England. "They both of GB?" Yeah, because who would want coaches from a winning organization?
  24. Mongo on ESPN 1000 just now said that he has talked to Kevin Greene (HOF player, current OLB coach in Green Bay) and Greene told him that Dom Capers is extremely interested in the Bears' head coaching job if it becomes available. If it happened, Greene would come with as the DC. per @bestof1000 twitter
