  1. I'm not going to take as much of my time as you, so good for you for doing that. How many "good teams" or "teams at the right time" did the Giants beat last year in the regular season, or GB in 2010?
  2. And Weems AND Costanzo. I believe they are 1 and 2 in ST tackles for the Bears, but they didn't need both.
  3. I want the Bears to make the playoffs. Anything can happen. Giants' fans last year probably were hoping they'd get a higher pick and Coughlin would get fired too. Yes, I know NY has a better pass rush, better playmakers on offense, and a better coaching staff, but still.
  4. Harbaugh and Carroll have been good.
  5. I just disagree on Peppers. He's a 275 pound man who went unblocked. He hit Rodgers like 1 second after throwing. How is a man that big supposed to just stop or swerve away? I'm guessing physics says that that's practically impossible.
  6. My choices, in order: Bruce Arians (interim head coach in IND) Greg Roman (OC in SF) Dirk Koetter (OC in ATL) Vic Fangio (DC in SF) Kyle Shanahan (OC in WSH) Kevin Gilbridge (OC NYG) Dom Capers (DC in GB) David Shaw (head coach at Stanford) Mike Riley (head coach at Oregon State) Nick Saban (head coach at Alabama) OC choices: Tom Drevno (OL coach in SF) Promote Bates Carl Smith (QB coach in SEA) Sean Ryan (QB coach in NYG)
  7. No way they sign one of the super 6 and go and take one in round 1. I think they'll sign a LT and draft an OG in round 2. This will leave a battle of Webb vs Carimi at RT. Although, I believe they SHOULD take a RT in round 4 or 5.
  8. I think he meant Urlacher said it from his couch.
  9. If they pick 18-20, that might still be good enough to draft Chance Warmack, Alec Ogletree, Tyler Eifert, or Eric Fisher (only if they don't sign a LT in FA which would be completely idiotic yet not surprising).
  10. It's not physical, because he looks in great shape compared to 2008 and 2009. So, it's probably mental. Wouldn't you also have lost some of your mind after *at least* 2 concussions, 2 knee injuries, a neck injury, and probably more? I mean, he was probably so used to not getting f***ing blasted every 8 dropbacks in Denver that now his mental clock is fried. I know I know, "then he shouldn't have demanded a trade from the Broncos." At this point, he probably regrets it. He probably figured, as I did, that when an organization gives up two 1st round picks + a 3rd + a QB that they will do EVERYTHING they can to help you. Since then? They've drafted Webb and Carimi, moved Garza out of position, and signed Rachal and Spencer. Uhh..?
  11. I absolutely hate when players do this, in any sport. How can he tell fans what to do? The cheapest face value tickets in the place are $80. Beer is like $9.25. Other food is expensive as hell too. Parking isn't cheap and transportation isn't easy. If fans pay, they can do what they choose, minus fighting and other dumb things. BTW, he was in Minnesota EIGHT days ago. Did he forget they booed Christian Ponder?
  12. The D gave up 14 points today (the other 7 was because of a 22 yard field for GB). If you were going to tell me prior to the game that they'd only give up 14, I would've taken it. This game was on the offense. 13 points? 2nd and goal on the 1 and 3 points? Inexcusable from every one of them.
  13. You guys can say what you'd like about Cutler. All I know is that in his second year as a full time QB, he made the Pro Bowl. Did he light it up exactly, no, but it was his SECOND year. What did he have there? Weapons and an OL. I believe he was sacked 11 times in the 2008 season. ELEVEN. He'll be lucky to not get sacked 12 times in the next 2 games. I'm not saying he needs THAT great of an OL, but 40-60 times sacked each and every year? I'd like to see doctors do their jobs when they constantly have guys in their face. However, you're probably right that he won't be the Bears QB past 2013. But again, where is the talent level? All I read all offseason from you guys is how great Alshon Jeffery is. Where's that at? He can't get open without pushing off. When he does, he drops the ball. Right now, he's any good teams' #3 or #4. Remember when it was "well, they finally solved their WR issue." Oh, they did? With this slow ass? Where is Hester? I said to trade him after the 2007 season. A dumbass franchise like the Raiders would've easily given the Bears a 1st for him. But what did I hear? "OMG, r u stupids?!?!?!1111 U cant trade a guy like Hester!!!!1111!!!" Since week 17 of the 2007 season, what does he have, 5 touchdowns on returns and 120 catches? Yippee. That's a great investment, because who needed to put that into a guy who could actually start on a high school OL. Where is Bennett? Oh yeah, hurt AGAIN. How about Weems? The only thing he can do is tackle on ST. Forte? He might be averaging 4+ ypc this year, but you don't invest $8m/year in a 4.1/4.2 ypc RB. You draft one in the 2nd-4th round for $900,000/season who can do that same thing. Instead, you take that $8m/season and sign either a TE, OG, OT, C, or another WR. Davis? He couldn't catch the bus or a cold. I'd be shocked if he was on any team next year- NFL, USFL, XFL, NCAA, AFL- whatever. NO team. Spaeth? LOL. Rodriguez? Please. They drafted this guy to play all over the field and he lines up and plays FB, which he does horribly. His OL? Today, the Bears used FOUR guards. Not because of injury, because of the talent level. They used Spencer, Carimi, Williams, and Brown. How about the OT's? Matthews had 2 sacks and 4 TFL today. Scott was hurt as well. I know Cutler probably isn't the QB we all thought he was. But maybe he would have been had the organization not screwed him with ONE playmaker in 4 seasons, signing and drafting back-up RB's, ST players, and DL to "help" the guy they traded 3 picks and a QB for. Yeah, Rodgers got hit a lot today too, but he also didn't have his "young, big, and good" WR (or WR's in this case, since he, unlike Cutler, has more than one good receiver) pushing off 3 times. You guys are right, as I said up above. Next season will probably be Cutler's last with the Bears. But in 2010 and 2011 when he wasn't being hit around, he was a good QB. I'm sure Emery wants his own QB and that works for me. I'll take anything to see this team win a ring, but christ, with what Emery did this offseason, how can I trust him to improve the roster?
  14. Where were all of the rollouts today? I don't recall a single one.

    GoodBye

Didn't the Bears draft Briggs, Tillman, Carimi (as bad as he is), and Louis? All are starting LB's or OL.
  16. I hate to get too weird on you guys and I know this is not Bears or even football related, but what happened in Connecticut yesterday to those kids is tragic. God bless those people
  17. So, the Bears on Sunday will be without: their best DL (Melton) their 1st and 3rd round picks (McClellin and Hardin) their 2nd best WR (Bennett) possibly their back-up RB (Bush) maybe their back-up OLB (Hayes) the best CB (Jennings) a couple good ST players (McManis and Steltz) the heart of their D (Urlacher) the kicker (Gould) And a few guys who will play despite being hurt: their QB (Cutler) their best DE (Peppers) their back-up but now starting OG (Spencer) a starting DT (Paea)
  18. In this thread, I said sign ONE of the first FIVE. Not "sign Long" and then one of the three OG's. The first time I said I wouldn't throw major money at Long because at the time, I wouldn't have. A lot was being made of his back and his play. Recently, however, he's been better and reports out of Miami say that Philbin wants his own guys in there and they want to save some cash for guys like Greg Jennings to help Tannehill. So, it seems that at first, people were saying Miami is through with him because of his back and his play, but now it seems like maybe he and Philbin aren't the best of pals. Still, I don't think I'd throw major cash at him, like I originally said. I'd give him $8-10m a year, but nothing insane, like $12m+ annually plus a huge guaranteed deal. I'm also not sure how much cap room they will have. I believe I read somewhere it'll be anywhere from 12-15m, which is solid but I'd suspect then that they only extend Melton and let Urlacher/Hester walk and go into the season with Cutler on his final year. All in all, Beatty/Levitre, Beatty/Lichtensteiger, Bushrod/Levitre, Bushrod/Lichtensteiger, Albert/Levitre, Albert/Lichtensteiger would be nice. Long will be too costly and no way Elway lets Manning's blindside leave.
  19. There are a few OL UFA's that will be out there in March. OT William Beatty Branden Albert Ryan Clady Jake Long Jermon Bushrod OG Kory Lichtensteiger Andy Levitre Kevin Boothe Man, any one of the first 5 and one of the last 3 would look terrific on the Bears in September, no?
  20. I'm surprised Mike Zimmer or Dirk Koetter didn't make your list.
  21. Cutler has won plenty of big games. I guess this just comes to mind for you and probably a few others since it's NOW. If he throws for 300 yards and 3 TD's and they lose, is he average still?
  22. Does anyone remember that play last year against Detroit, when Calvin Johnson ran a quick slant when the Bears were ahead by a few, and Briggs flat out leveled him? Yeah, I think that'd be cool to see on Sunday. But again, was anything Finley said false? We've all said for awhile that Urlacher isn't the same player. It pains me to say because he was so good and he might go down as one of the greatest ever to not win a ring, but Finley is sort of right.

    Tice

Maybe I'm nuts, but am I the only one who doesn't think Tice hasn't done a bad job as OC this year? A lot can be said for his OL, but even with that, he's been given dick to work with. We are getting everything we want from the OC. Cutler can audible and he's rolling out now. I would've liked to see more carries for Forte this year, but all around, it's his first year as an OC with 1 legitimate playmaker beside the QB. *prepares for war*
