  1. But if you sign a good LT (Clady or Long) or a quality OG (Levitre), you now can go LB-DB-LB-C in the first 4 picks and not have to worry about drafting a guy who may or may not suck.
  2. Nowhere does it say they're talking extension. It says it's hard to argue with a 4-1 start. Like Bears4Ever said, Terry Boers reported it, the biggest loser in Chicago media history.
  3. No, I know, and I totally agree. I just think they should leave Hester out on PR but take him off KR. He killed Detroit at home last year; maybe that'll be how he turns it around this year?
  4. I thought he played very well against Dallas, practically stoning his opposition on each play. He didn't stop there as he did it again vs Jacksonville. Against Green Bay, St Louis, and Indianapolis, I thought he was solid as well. His contract is up after the year. What do they do with him?
  5. 1. Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama --Assuming the Bears are selecting in the 20's, this guy would be a great pick. It's clear that Rachal isn't the answer. Spencer sucks. Louis is in a contract year. At 6'4" 320, Warmack is arguably the best OL on the best team in college football. 2. William Gholston, DE, Michigan State --The Bears have never been shy about selecting DL, and why would they? Melton's in a contract year, Peppers has been silent since week 2 it seems, McClellin is getting there (slowly), Idonije is old, and Wootton could get hurt at any time. Gholston is a freak physically (6'7" 280) who's had a down year thus far but last year was a beast. 4. Jelani Jenkins, OLB, Florida --Jenkins is a really quick and physical OLB. Roach has been solid this year, and Briggs hasn't lost a step, but for how much longer?
  6. Hester is a better PR than KR. Put Weems solely on KR and let him do that. Remember, with Jeffery hurt, that responsibility won't all be put on Hester. Bennett will be back and we all know how much Cutler trusts him.
  7. To go further on that "11-4" stat...over Cutler's last 32 starts, the Bears are 23-9.
  8. I see Cutler having a Cutler-vs-Carolina-circa-2011 type game, where he barely throws and doesn't get to 200 yards passing. I say this because *I hope* the gameplan is to run, run run. Jacksonville is 30th in the NFL against the rush. I can also see Hester getting his first KR/PR TD this year, as the Jags are 20th against the PR and 24th against the KR. Bears 27-9 --Bears are just too good right now. Jacksonville ranks 32nd in overall offense. Forte 23 carries, 164 yards, 1 TD Bush 11 carries, 47 yards, 1 TD Cutler 15-24, 193 yards, 1 TD Davis 3 catches, 19 yards, 1 TD
  9. That Tillman t-shirt is brilliant.
  10. No, don't do that. It'll be the end of the world as know it, which includes a mutiny.
  11. Melton is a damn good player. I wonder what he's looking for. Is 4 years at around $4m too little? Is 4 years at $6m too high? In a perfect world, he takes a 3 year, $12m extension, but who knows?
  12. When I went to Carolina in 2010 to see the mighty Todd Collins defeat the eventual worst team in football that year, the stadium was about 80% full only. Of the people that were there, about 70% were in navy and orange. This is no surprise to me. Hell, even when I went to Seattle in 2009, the crowd was about 30-40% Chicago fans, and that's probably around 2,100 miles away.
  13. Grant has definitely lost his explosiveness but is still better than Allen or Bell. However, Grant is going to sign elsewhere later tonight, per Biggs.
  14. The Bears' offense have started out slow in 2010 and 2011. After the first few weeks, they turned it on with adjustments. I think the same will happen by week 5 or 7.
  15. --Cutler has to start playing better. They're 2-1 despite him right now, not because of him. I think he'll come around. He's been a slow starter besides 2009. --Bush played OK but nothing great. I hope Forte is ready for Monday. --Marshall now, by my count, has 5 drops in 3 games. He's on pace for a record he doesn't want. This has to change as well. --I really enjoy watching the DL play right now. Melton, Okoye, McClellin, Peppers, Idonije- they're all getting to the QB in numerous ways at different spots. It's fun to see. --Urlacher is getting better by game. Right now, he's tied for the team lead in tackles. --Jennings...wow. I don't want to sound like a broken record but he's on fire. I said after week 17 of 2011 that if he can learn how to catch, he'll be a really good player, and apparently he's learned.
  16. Weems is always back on kicks with him. He just always gets the ball. Even if Weems catches one, I'm sure he's been told to give it to Hester. If he has 2 returns for TD's + 2 TD catches, what do you do with him? Hell...if he has 4 returns for TD's + 3 TD catches, do you keep him? If yes, at what cost?
  17. What should the Bears do with this guy after the season? It's clear he's not a WR. He's even slowed up a bit on the returns since his first 2 years. He's getting 7.6m this year, and his deal is up after this season.
  18. Match-up to watch: Peppers vs Wayne Hunter --Wayne Hunter is f***ing terrible. Cutler 19-29, 219 yards, 1 TD Bush 22 carries, 88 yards, 1 TD Marshall 6 catches, 76 yards, 1 TD Hester 1 return for TD Gould 2/3 on FG's Bears 27-16.
  19. I just want to know why the 5th string CB thinks he has the right to talk about an issue between the starting QB and the LT. I would've rather heard what Peppers, Briggs and Urlacher had to say if they were critical. Instead, they all (except Peppers, who doesn't speak) said boys will be boys and it'll be handled.
  20. Urlacher said on his weekly TV show on FOX that Cutler is a great leader if not THE leader on the team, so...?
