  1. They have to be 3-2 at the bye. If they lose Sunday, they have to win in Dallas and Jacksonville.
  2. Kornheiser said something like "I'm guessing he was speaking for more than himself" and Wilbon said something along the lines of "yeah I'm sure."
  3. Spencer was terrible last year. I don't know what Spencer you watched. Even when he was starting vs Indy and GB, he was worse than Webb. Give Rachal a shot at G. If he fails, try Williams there, as in my opinion HE was the Bears best OL last year when he was healthy at OG.
  4. -Said he was wrong for bumping Webb but doesn't regret yelling at him. -He heard what Moore said and had no issue with it. -He's spoken to all of the OL individually and it's settled. -Talked about what a great guy Lovie is. -Claimed being a dad is going well. -Said they can't take the Rams easy because any team can beat any team on any day. -Talked about how much he loves Bears fans due to the reception he's gotten since Thursday when he was grocery shopping. -Owned up to his INT's on Thursday.
  5. For pure idiocy alone, doesn't this deserve some sort of suspension or ban?
  6. Nobody asked him about pushing Webb after the game, IIRC. I believe he was just asked why he yelled at Webb.
  7. Cutler's contract expires after the 2013 season. I do agree in that Moore was just saying that it was the wrong thing to do and if Cutler did that to Moore, he would've reacted much different than how Webb did. Also, don't expect Urlacher to sit anyone down. Cutler isn't 22 years ago. He's almost 30, if not 30 (without looking). Urlacher said last night on the Final Word here in Chicago with Lou Canellis that he hasn't seen the push and that everyone wants Cutler to lead them. No one is more honest than Urlacher. Carimi said today that when he initially heard about the push, he figured it was bad, but he saw it and didn't think much of it. Cutler has his weekly radio show tomorrow and his weekly presser Wednesday. It'll be interesting to see what he says, but don't expect much. Lovie has already said all issues will be handled internally, and McClure tried to get something out of Cutler today after practice and Cutler declined to talk.
  8. Spencer is a smart but bad player. Rachal is a decent player but racks up a lot of penalties. Pick your poison...
  9. Marshall dropped ONE touchdown pass. Webb has been partly responsible for ONE HUNDRED NINETEEN sacks since 2009. So yeah, I'd say one deserved a pat on the ass rather than a slight push. (FWIW, I'm not condoning the push. I'm just saying that one player is significantly worse than the other and has put Cutler through hell.)
  10. Through what? The Facebook and Twitter he doesn't have? He has his weekly show on Tuesday and his weekly press conference Wednesday. He'll have a chance then.
  11. I like this. Now go and watch film because Chris Long and Robert Quinn can get after the QB.
  12. Uh, this thread was about the defense being the silver lining so far...
  13. The defense has only given up 3 TD's in 2 games. Prior to the year, everyone had this as the Bears weakness. Positives: -Peppers has been really good. -Melton has 3 sacks already. -Wooton has been solid. -McClellin is on pace for 12 sacks. -Briggs is still really good and Tillman hasn't lost a step. -Jennings...Pro Bowl? Negatives: -Paea hasn't done much. -DJ Moore seems like he's regressed. -Conte still isn't healthy, it doesn't seem. -Urlacher still isn't 100% and it's showing a bit. So, more pros than cons.
  14. I agree. He should've said "I have to be better," but he's been sacked 119 times since 2009. That is a ridiculous number, especially considering they've only signed Chilo Rachal, an average OL, and drafted Gabe Carimi. If the team truly turns on him, that'll show more about the team's character than his. They all should realize this might be their last shot at a Super Bowl. If they quit now, then f*** them. Exactly. Where were the WR screens to Hester, slants to Marshall, RB screens to either RB, draws, etc? Don't forget Chris Long as a pass rusher, too. Stafford had a bad game which resulted in picks. Cutler was getting murdered which resulted in picks. It's hard not to mentally check out of a game when the OL has done this to you multiple times. Why would he even believe there was a chance? Did any of you? I know that when I was sitting at Lambeau, I had NO faith, especially when Marshall dropped the TD pass.
  15. I touched on this in 2010 when they started off the year slow. When will the team turn on Cutler? Granted, he's never been THIS frustrated, and believe it or not, this is the first time he's called out the offense in the postgame. It's a shame because he has so much talent and I've been his biggest fan, but when you throw a lot of picks and then call out other guys, it seems hypocritical to me. It's not that Webb didn't deserve it, but the fact remains that it's not like he threw 4 TD's and got sacked 11 times. He threw FOUR picks and got sacked 7 times. FWIW, Pro Football Talk can go to hell. "A source with direct knowledge." Yeah, right.
  16. Cutler 24-34, 301 yards, 3 TD's, 1 INT, 1 fumble lost Marshall 11 catches, 134 yards, 2 TD Forte 24 carries, 76 yards, 1 TD Bush 11 carries, 28 yards, 1 TD Packers 38-34
  17. Cutler threw 34 passes from preseason game #1-#3. From week 4 of the preseason until 9/9 (16 days, if my math is right), he threw 0 passes in in-game situations. Lesson: next year, have him throw more passes in the preseason.
  18. Maybe I feel this way because I'm sick of it all, but IIRC, the question was something like: "if Green Bay plays physical like they have the past 2 years, will they be successful again?" It wasn't like out of nowhere he said "Hey Green Bay, good luck with Marshall." Nothing he said was cocky or even confident. It's not rocket science that playing physical against bigger WR's isn't going to work too well. Point is, it's not surprising that NFL.com would blow this up. Every national media outlet hates the Bears. PFT also said that "Urlacher is unhappy with Lovie." False. He just wasn't happy coming out of the game. It's not like they had a postgame fight or anything. Don't forget that PFT dropped the Bears from 11 to 14 in their power rankings because "Indianapolis was a 2-14 team last year with a rookie QB." Yeah, well the Giants lost their opener at home to a non-playoff team. Why are they still 7? Everyone built up Luck all offseason, and now the Bears beat him, but it's not that impressive because he's a rookie and the team stunk a year ago.
  19. He knocked Luck down once, had a few other rushes, and had an offsides penalty.
  20. Yeah, so they had 51 players today when they cut Quigley. Then, they activated Collins and signed Scott. You could look at it either way.
  21. No, they cut Quigley today to make room for Scott. Collins being activated will fill the roster to 53.
  22. I don't know if I necessarily agree with "they need his size against Jennings." Against Nelson, yes, but Jennings isn't eveb 6'0. It turns out, based on yesterday, that the Packers' biggest weapon might be Randall Cobb. They line him up in the slot, out on the edges, in the backfield, wildcat, etc. He also returns punts and kicks.
  23. Aw, poor baby. I hope he's ok. The guy is making almost 1/3 over the course of his deal as you are over your's. If you don't like "being treated badly" before the new deal and this has bugged you over your whole career, you should've demanded a trade. The team wins by 20 points and this baby is b****ing already.
