  1. To discredit myself, I do it every year. However, I feel like I do it so far in advance that maybe some hotel GM's down there forget that they are hosting the Super Bowl, and it helps on the price. For example, I found a real hole in the wall for $395/night. When I checked the reviews, every past guest mentioned the words dirty, roach, or broken.
  2. Not sure if anyone is interested, but annually, I book a hotel in the Super Bowl city, and if (when) the Bears don't make it, I cancel 24 hours prior to and it doesn't cost me a thing. Of course, the only year I didn't was in 2006 when they did actually go. Anyhow, I found a La Quinta Suites in Slidell, (where ironically, Forte is from) which is about 25 miles from New Orleans, for only $119/night. If anyone is interested, I'd go that route. All of the other hotels are either sold out or $390+/night. This hotel also has all good reviews on Trip Advisor with the exception of 1 or 2 people.
  3. I've been to the Giants, Jets, Ravens, and Seahawks. None of them have an atmosphere like the Bears' camp does. It's pretty much: guys walk out, practice, and leave. Their food selection sucks as well. At Bears' camp, they have a decent variety of food, the bleachers are close, and the players occasionally interact with fans.
  4. But not everyone who writes an article on the Bears is a Bears' fan, which is why I could care less what a teenager who loves Cutler thinks of Cutler. I'd rather hear what a unbiased, national writer has to say about Cutler. No, and I really don't think Flacco is, either.
  5. I live about 35-50 minutes from camp, so I usually go about 3-4 times per year. Say what you want about the Bears management, but they do camp better than just about any other team. They have food, the seats are good and close to the action, players sign for fans, players have some fun, and all in all, you get to see the seed planted for a potential great year.
  6. This is idiotic on Blackmon's part. He needs to be sat down by his family, teammates, and the Jaguars' front office, and he needs to be told that this s*** has to stop a.s.a.p. DUI's are so much worse than cocaine abuse, marijuana allegations, domestic abuse, etc. If you drive with 3x the legal limit of alcohol in your system, not only are you endangering yourself (cocaine abuse), you're endangering 2, 4, 6+ people. If he hits one car, and that car hits a family of four, he just killed himself and 5 others.
  7. About a week ago, we were all ripping BR on here for the article written on the Bears 2012 stats projections because it was all negative things written by a Packers fan who happens to be like 17 years old. If we're going to ignore and rip BR a new one for that article, we should ignore this one. While the stats projections article was written by a Packers fan, this one was likely written by a Bears fan, and even though this one might bring a smile to our faces, it's still a blog full of opinions written by a nobody. Now this is an article I'll read and actually feel good about the opinion.
  8. Actually, I think 5-7 is about right for Marshall. I'd only rank Calvin Johnson, Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, and Greg Jennings definitely ahead of him. Nicks, Wallace, and DeSean Jackson are honorable mention.
  9. ^ ^ ^ Don't even bother. (google "Bears stats predictions Bleacher Report") Yes.
  10. What he said. The guy admitts he's an 18 year old Packers' fan in his bio. What a waste of an article. If Cutler throws 10 less TD's than he does INT's, I'll s*** and eat it.
  11. My thoughts exactly. Essentially, I put it this way: People backing Forte right now- "Pay the man! He's been a great teammate and a great RB." Same people in 4 years when Forte is averaging 3.5 ypc- "Emery is a dumbass for paying a 27 year old RB that much money. Giving a RB that much money when he has that much mileage on him already is idiotic." How do you know that he "stinks?" He's done well with the carries he's been given. If he can work on his fumbling issues, he's another team's #2 RB, easily.
  12. Yeah, Wottoon is toast. He's not any good.
  13. All I'm telling you is that Jacksonville and Dallas are weeks 4 and 5. No hard feelings. The Jags were 8th against the pass and 9th against the run. Therefore, they're solid. However, in a season full of decent teams, I'm not too worried about the Jaguars in 2012.
  14. McClellin needs to have a 7+ sack rookie year. Webb needs to be 6 sacks and 8 penalties better. Jennings needs to capitalize on his INT chances. If those three things happen, they'll mask other weaknesses.
  15. What team has Michael Vick ever been on that you'd consider dominant? Given the fact that he's the Eagles' QB, they'll never be dominant. He's too inconsistent and too injury prone. I don't know if there are a lot of IFS for Detroit and Chicago. The Bears were a top 5 team last year when Cutler got hurt. Their OL always gels by week 5 or 6 despite how much criticism they receive, their defense is always solid, and they just added a top 7 WR and what could be a solid rookie WR. They also added a beast of a RB in case Forte holds out and their ST will be second to none. Detroit averaged 30 ppg last year and led the NFL in takeaways. They strengthened their team by keeping Stephen Tulloch, retaining Cliff Avril for now, and drafting what should be a very good RT for the next 10 years in Riley Reiff.
  16. Jacksonville and Dallasaren't exactly "middle of the season." Those play those two teams week 4 and 5. Not only that, but their defenses are solid, not great. As for tough defenses, I'll say San Francisco, Houston, and Detroit. That's about it. Seattle and Green Bay's defense aren't anything great by any means.
  17. Knox won't play in 2012? Oh no. What will the Bears do without a WR who doesn't run routes correctly and drops passes?
  18. Collins was a solid player in college. He's only played one year in the NFL and he's only 24, so he might make the team. He did have a marijuana arrest in February, IIRC.
  19. Are you EVER going to give this up? At least contribute to the thread, dude. Weems was brought in here to be a RETURNER. Let me repeat- A RETURNER. Okay? And Devin Thomas came here to be a special teams ace. Let me repeat- A SPECIAL TEAMS ACE. Emery gave them each small contracts. I repeat- SMALL CONTRACTS. Stop acting like he gave them each 4 year, $16M deals to be the Bears 3 and 4 WR's. What if they had let Graham walk and didn't replace him? Let me be clear- Graham is a GREAT special teams player. You can't replace him with ONE guy. Instead, they boosted their WR and LB depth with the following signings: Costanzo, Weems, and Thomas. Again, they are BARELY paying these guys. Relax. Can you at least be happy they drafted Jeffery and traded for Marshall? My god.
  20. You could also use that in the NFC North's favor though, as while the NFC East doesn't have a doormat, they also don't have dominant teams like Detroit, Chicago, and Green Bay have shown they can be. I'm fully aware that NYG won the Super Bowl last year, but they were an average team all regular season. Dallas is always up and down, Washington is rebuilding, and Philadelphia has a bunch of numbskulls on their team.
  21. And by that, you mean like 67 touchdowns, -2 INT's, and 7500 yards AT LEAST.
  22. They have Spaeth, Rodriguez, and Davis. Pass.
  23. 4100 yards, 31 TD's, 13 INT's, top 9 QB. Keep in mind: last year against Stafford, Ryan, Newton, Rivers, and Vick, he went 5-1. And BTW, there is NO way Michael Vick is a better QB than Jay Cutler. I can't believe you actually believe he is. Vick has been one of the most overrated NFL players ever because people assume athletic ability = QB ability. If that's the case, Kellen Davis is a top 8 TE in football. Vick is an injury prone player who isn't as fast anymore and who has never been able to throw the ball well. Fans watch one career game against Washington 2 years ago and now assume Vick is good. He's not. On top of it, he's a gigantic a**hole who b****es about every call. As for Newton, people need to keep in mind that he threw a lot of INT's last year. If you listened to ESPN, you'd assume he had 30 TD's, 10 INT's, and 10 more rushing TD's when that's not the case. I know he was only a rookie and has tons of potential, but that's the thing- he was a rookie who turned the ball over a lot. I have no idea why everyone is putting him on their top 10 lists right now. My top 11: Rodgers, Brees, Brady, E.Manning, Roethlisberger, P.Manning, Stafford, Cutler, Flacco, Ryan, Newton.
  24. The fact that Cutler hasn't made a 2012 version of the top 100 NFL players on any site is a complete joke. In 2009, he had a tough year but finished with 8 TD's and 1 INT in his last 2 games. In 2010, the Bears were a sprained MCL away from potentially winning a championship. In 2011, they were one of the best teams in football, led by him, and then he got hurt. He is definitely a top 80 NFL player. Hell, if John Kuhn made NFL Network's top 100, Cutler should.
