  1. Ugly: Rodriguez was arrested for a assaulting a woman at WVU. He was arrested again in 2009 for disorderly conduct. Bad: This is considered a reach. Good: He's very versatile, and he's a TIGHT END. Stop with the FB bulls***. Clutts played at a Pro Bowl level last year. The Bears will use him as an Aaron Hernandez type. Will he be as good? Doubt it, but he's short and quick like Hernandez is.
  2. Yeah, I'm frightened of the Jaguars, Colts, Vikings, Titans, and Rams now...
  3. I would target at 50: 1. Allen 2. Hill 3. Still 4. Thompson 5. Sanu 6. Randle Still is a good pick because he's a versatile DL and Lovie loves that. BTW, Silatolu is an OG and Glenn is either a RT or OG.
  4. What you all are missing is that the Bears don't run hybrid defenses at all. They run zone, cover 2, or man, and they never line up in a 3-4. Sure, they put Peppers at DT at times, but they've never sent him off the corner in a 3-4 or anything, and that's what we're presuming they'll now do. Matthews wouldn't be able to play DE in the Bears' D, and the Allen comparisons need to stop, as he has 3 inches, 6 pounds, and A LOT more professional sacks on SMC. How is a 3-4 OLB a "safe" pick though? I see your point on his quickness, but someone from a MWC school, no strength, projects as a 3-4 OLB, and a concussion history is not "safe" by any means. If you want to say you like the pick, fine, but I don't know how you could say safe.
  5. - Bears hated Nick Perry's personality but loved his game. Supposedly, he's a bit of a douche and seemed careless in all of the interviews. - They had Mercilus #3 behind McClellin and....wait until my last point... - They didn't like Kendall Wright really. - They had offers to move up or down, but loved McClellin. - He is going to start day 1 most likely at LDE. - If Bruce Irvin would've fell to 19, he would've likely been the pick. (FML)
  6. I know. That was meant to be a sad, sarcastic face. I didn't feel like searching for a crying emoticon.
  7. I forget who I told off a few weeks ago about Jenkins probably not even going in the first 3 rounds, but I'm sorry. My fault. But this could be OK for the Bears. This could mean Sanu or Randle could fall to 50.
  8. Well, at least I don't have to turn in my ST's since they took him but not over Kirkpatrick and Floyd, but it was close.
  9. GUYS: MATTHEWS IS A 3-4 OLB. SO IS MCCLELLIN. STOP COMPARING THE TWO, ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE DEFENDING THE PICK. IT JUST MAKES YOU LOOK RIDICULOUS. IF YOU ALL FORGOT, THE BEARS PLAY A 4-3. HELLO?! EARTH TO CHICAGO. If they didn't take Reiff, I wouldn't get my hopes up about Allen. Skip Bayless? Okay, now I know for sure this picks sucks. Bill Belichick is such an overrated drafter. The Patriots had NO running game last year, no WR's besides Welker (who they traded for, not drafted), and no secondary or OLB's. Let's not all hail Bill Belichick on his drafting because he took one quarterback years ago. Were you one of many who loved Brendon Ayanbedejo? Yeah, Costanzo > Ayanbedejo. Bush- starter if Forte holds out. Rachal- potential starter Hayes- potential starter This pissed me off. I agree. Why talk him up on ST? You can get a nice ST player by taking a white OLB in round 6 or 7.
  10. They didn't want Mercilus, Perry, DeCastro, Reiff, and Jones, and took THIS guy? He had the least amount of DE reps at the combine.
  11. And Perry, Kirkpatrick, and Upshaw. If they take McClellin over Floyd, Mercilus, Kirkpatrick, Perry, Reiff, or Upshaw, I'm not sending my season ticket payment. McClellin is too slow and unathletic to be a 4-3 OLB and he's not big enough to be a 4-3 DE. This would be a HUGE let down of a selection.
  12. So far, so good, regarding Emery. Whatever he does today, tomorrow, and Saturday will be criticized but in the end, it's all about what they do on the field. He had a good FA period, and I'll give him 2-3 years on how good his 2012 picks are.
  13. Draft Jones or Brockers at 19, or trade down and take Perry.
  14. Before they signed Bush he said that they had about $3.2 million. Since, they signed Bush, Rachal, and Hayes. Therefore, I don't care what he says anymore regarding the cap.
  15. Upshaw is a scheme fit. He can bullrush at DE and can play some OLB. If the Bears liked Kamerion Wimbley, they like Upshaw. They're practically the same guy. As for Wolfe, yuck. He's a 3-4 DE.
  16. Per Bruce Feldman: "Scout told me in Indy: 'the guy is completely out of control. There's no way you could trust him.'"
  17. If he gets one game and they can't beat the Colts without him, they stink anyway.
  18. 1. Michael Brockers, DT, LSU ---Great run stuffer. Perfect compliment to the pass rushing Melton. 2. Nick Perry, DE, USC ---With the emergence of Brockers and Jones, some mocks have Perry falling into the mid-2nd. He's a great scheme fit. 3. James Brown, OT, Troy ---A lot of people think he's an NFL OG or LT. 4. Tommy Streeter, WR, Miami ---Lanky WR who is a red zone threat. Reminds me of Plaxico Burress. 5. DaJohn Harris, DT, USC ---Bears add again to their DT rotation after losing Okoye and cutting Adams. 6. Philip Blake, C, Baylor ---Blake is a natural C, but he can compete for an OG spot until Garza loses his job, gets hurt, or retires. 7. Duke Ihenacho, SS, San Jose State ---Safety depth in case Conte, Wright, or Steltz flame out. Thoughts?
  19. Not bad, but an OLB and CB in rounds 2 or 3 is kind of a waste since they kept Jennings and signed Hayden and Wilhite, and they just signed Hayes along with Costanzo about a month ago. I think they're going to get DL, DL, OT, S, WR, CB, OLB.
  20. Schefter reported a week or so ago that he doubts Marshall gets suspended.
  21. In other news: Emery didn't rule out Hard Knocks and he also said he is open to trading out of 19.
  22. I'd guess: Mercilus Wright Coples Gilmore Brockers Floyd Kuechly in no order.
