  1. Gilmore would be a great fit in the cover 2. Don't forget that Lovie played a lot of zone and man last year, contrary to popular belief.
  2. Denver Washington @ NY Giants @ Cleveland Cool schedule. Peyton Manning and RG3 coming to Chicago, and they'll go to Eli's house and play in Cleveland who will have the 4th overall pick.
  3. Mike Mayock thinks Gilmore is the 2nd best CB in the class. He's played in 38 or so games in his college career, he's a good tackler, and he has a nose for the ball. I've seen some people say that he reminds them of Charles Tillman. Whether you, I, or anyone else likes it, CB is a need for this team. If they pick Worthy or Randle in the 1st round, or even consider them, f*** our lives. I agree on Ingram. If he's there, he should be the pick as most consider him a top 12 selection. Mercilus is so intriguing and so is Adams, but both could bust so easily.
  4. The Bears should go LB, WR, DE, S, CB, WR, and OT in the draft, in no particular order. If that means Martin, Mercilus, or Gilmore in round 1, go for it. The organization, from Phillips to Lovie to the players, and we the fans need to trust Emery in his pick. While he's never been fully in charge in a draft room, he has a history of good picks, great picks, and busts, like everyone else, but his great and good players outweigh the busts, such as Derrick Williams, Dwayne Bowe, Roddy White, Jamaal Charles, and Matt Ryan. I didn't include OG because they have E.Williams, C.Williams, Louis, and Garza for that. Pick up an OG and DT in UDFA's if they choose to do so.
  5. I love the spikes, jerseys, helmets, pants, gloves, and new fan apparel. Did you all see what they did to the Seahawks uniforms?
  6. Seriously, when is this s*** going to just be legalized? I don't smoke it, but Christ, tobacco is worse for you than this stuff, and this just causes too much crime in its own. They put these people in jail and then they fight which causes more crime. They put people in jail for selling it and that causes crimes due to fights as well. It's a mess. As for the Lions...good. It couldn't have happened to be a bigger group of strokes. It's too bad it's not that big asshat Suh or their crybaby coach. Mikel LeShoure has been arrested twice for dope this offseason also.
  7. I think your subtitle is misleading. The jerseys will be unveiled tomorrow and sold on presale mid-April, per Sean Jensen.
  8. Woah, dude. Relax. I wasn't "coming at you" and if it came off that way, I apologize. I just felt that there was no possible "impact" guys out there for the Bears, and I didn't want anyone to say Manny Lawson, because for some reason, he's a TalkBears favorite despite having one good year in his whole career. Where would Grubbs play? Louis is young and solid, and CW is going nowhere. Where would Winston play? Back-up RT? For $6 million/year? Yikes. Mincey was talked into staying by Jacksonville's GM at the last minute. He didn't BLOW anything. (Keep in mind, 5 of Mincey's 8 sacks came against Indianapolis' dogs*** OT's.) For my offseason, I would've traded for or signed a #1 WR, made a run at Mincey, signed some veteran players who do the small things, and signed a back-up QB who is capable of throwing a football. Emery did all of that. And please, Roy Williams? My god. If that would help the Bears offseason grade in your opinion, you might want to reconsider. He had too many dropped passes at key times and didn't help the team in any way, shape, or form. Marginal? He was only 1 of 2 CB's who didn't give up a TD last year. Granted, he is a system player, but that's an impressive stat nonetheless. If he knew how to catch, he would've had 4-6 INT's last year to go with it.
  9. Who did you want? Finnegan never left St Louis, Carr made one visit, giving Nicks that much money is stupid, Eric Wright sucks, and Mario Williams made one visit and signed, just like Finnegan and Carr. (Don't say Lawson. He's not an "impact" guy.)
  10. http://www.fansedge.com/Chicago-Bears-Nike...9939128_PG.html It hit stores last night. The new New Era hats did as well, but those are ugly, so I didn't bother posting a link. This stuff is such a breath of fresh air compared to Reebok. They really packed it in these past few years knowing the end was near, and it showed in their product. Also, the new jerseys will debut Tuesday, per Sean Jensen.
  11. Before we even go into what I hate about Orson Charles, let's get one thing straight- comparing a 3rd or 4th round TE in this weak class to Aaron Hernandez is ridiculous. Yeah, who wouldn't want a talent like his? If Charles was really a comparable talent, he'd be going in the 1st round. At the combine, he impressed me from the start. He put on 10 pounds to get his weight up, which was good to see, but then, he didn't run the 40 and didn't give a reason. He screwed up on drills. He dropped passes. Wait, you're saying "1 DUI? He's a college student. They all drink." Yeah, but not all of them drink and drink. Don't you think there's a difference? This happened March 9 too, and it shows he might not be serious about his future. How do you get a DUI when you're in the midst of the biggest job interviews of your life and you know everything you do is under the microscope? I respect your opinion. Hell, if the Bears draft him and he's a good one, good call on your part, but I'd rather have Egnew or Hanna.
  12. So the only way you're a good KR is if you have TD's? No, check yards per kick return. And please, don't say "his wasn't high last year." If you can pull stats from 2006 and 2007 about Hester's KR ability, I can pull stats from 2010 about Weems'. So signing FA's who are ST players doesn't improve the team? If they had just lost Graham and signed no one on ST, would you say it's ok that they lost him and didn't add anyone? I doubt it. ST is a HUGE need. This phase has won the Bears several games dating back to 2006, and it hasn't been JUST because of Devin Hester. When you have a great coach like Toub for that area and you have the money, resources, and lure/tradition to add to it, you do it. The Bears will once again be a great unit next year, and I'd be willing to wager that they'll have THE BEST one. They didn't fix holes? Holes they had going into FA: CB depth- re-signed Jennings (DRAFT) TE depth- re-signed Davis (DRAFT?) LB depth- signed Costanzo (DRAFT?) #1 WR- traded for Marshall ST help- signed Weems and Thomas (and Costanzo). #2 RB- signed Bush #2 QB- signed Campbell DL depth- re-signed Idonije (DRAFT) OL depth- DRAFT So are you 100% sure they didn't fix holes? Had Emery signed Brandon Carr, Carl Nicks, and traded for Marshall, people would say "Where's the DE help?" Had he signed Vincent Jackson, Mario Williams, and Nicks, people would say "So Enderle is the #2? FML." Had they signed Nicks and Williams, people would say "Where's the #1 WR?" Seriously, the guy couldn't sign a great CB, OL, DE, and WR, but if he had, people would say "But they lost Graham. How will they replace him?" There's a reason that Michael Lombardi, as big of a douche as he is, said the Bears had the 2nd best FA period. Tough crowd.
  13. What impresses you about Charles? Overall potential? Because to me, he doesn't have great game tape, and he's not the brightest bulb in the pack. I know you said "according to their player draft spots," but there is no f***ing way Rueben Randle lasts until the Bears' selection in round 4, and I'd be quite surprised if Trumaine Johnson lasts until their 3rd pick. As for Irwin, am I the only one who would hate this pick? Yuck. The guy is a complete knucklehead and he's not even 255 pounds.
  14. Weems is a great ST player who does a fantastic job of returning kickoffs, unlike Hester. Costanzo is a big hitter on ST who will remind everyone of Ayanbedejo and provides LB depth. Campbell is a good insurance policy if Cutler goes down. I don't know why everyone hates these signings.
  15. Because they have 3.5 million left in cap space.
  16. But again, aren't the Bears much better now than what they were in December? Last year they were a VERY GOOD team at 7-3 and then Cutler broke his thumb. If they had Bush and Campbell last year, they probably finish 10-6 and get in the playoffs. I do agree that I wanted a DE or a DT, an impactful one at that, but it didn't happen, so I trust Emery to address that in the draft.
  17. I really hope they don't draft a guy just to keep Sanzenbacher around. He isn't a very good player. Cut his ass.
  18. Thomas, Marshall and Bennett BETTER not be the top 3 WR's, and Weems will barely ever play WR.
  19. Yeah, that sounds about right: DE/OL, DE/OL, WR, CB, LB, S, BPA.
  20. Trust me when I say this: Tice doesn't like Webb AT ALL. It's Lovie who loves Webb.
  21. What's there not to get? He's a ST player who will be the #5 WR. He'll take Sam Hurd's role...minus the drugs...I hope. Also, he was the one who recovered Kyle Williams' fumble in the NFC title game last year in overtime. This gave NY the ball and the eventual win. Just an FYI. Marshall Bennett ROOKIE Hester Thomas Sanzenbacher Plain and simple: a depth move. Also, Toub has to be pumped. They lost Graham, but they added Costanzo, Weems, and now Thomas. Tell me about it. IIRC, he ran something like a 4.35 40 and had great size at 6'2 215. He was chosen by Washington along with another 2nd or 3rd round WR who I can't remember his name at the current time, but I do remember saying "man, they just loaded up at WR."
  22. Of course the ultimate goal is to win a championship. What I meant by "this is not about a Super Bowl" is that you made it sound like the Bears shouldn't do this trade because it would make New Engand an even more powerful offense. No team ever thinks that way when trading a player, unless it's in their own division. The Broncos didn't say "s***, we just traded Cutler to Chicago and now they're going to good, and if we meet them in the Super Bowl, we're f***ed." See what I'm saying? As for the next part of your first paragraph, I'm not 100% sure there. I think that's for draft picks though because I remember hearing that a lot when Crabtree was holding out in San Francisco. You could be right though. Your second paragraph is understood, except for the Bush is "absolutely not" better than Forte. Bush has 21 TD's in his career as a back-up. Forte has 21 as a starter. Bush has averaged 4.2 ypc in his career. So has Forte. Granted, Bush has been in the league for one year longer. Both can catch the ball, both aren't super fast, Bush scores more TD's and has fresher legs, and Forte is probably more shifty. To me, it's almost a toss up, believe it or not. All I'm saying is that if he's going to take a fair deal and another team wants to give the Bears THAT much for a guy who probably only has 2 good years left in him, I think it would be in the best interest of the organization. They'd get rid of his huge deal, get more picks to add to the OL or D (or potentially package those picks for an extra 1st), and they'd be trading away a gigantic headache. When Lovie is admitting that Forte is unhappy with the franchise, you know Forte is unhappy with the franchise.
  23. Also on WF, Charlie Campbell updated his on the 26th: 1. Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina 2. Amini Silatulo, OG, Midwestern State 3. Nick Toon, WR, Wisconsin 4. Keenan Robinson, OLB, Texas 5. Michael Egnew,TE, Missouri Besides the fact that the Bears need a CB and OT in there, I like that draft. Silatulo is a beast and Coples has all the potential in the world.
  24. Despite the fact that Lovie's quotes from today make me absolutely sick, I think they'll go OG in round 2 or 3 and OT in round 4 or 5, whether he projects as LT or RT (probably RT or else he wouldn't begoing in the 4th or 5th rounds). This OG can compete from the start but will likely only see playing time if (when) Webb sucks and Williams moves to LT. He'll also compete with Louis for the RG spot. The 4th/5th round OT will be a back-up but will continue to be polished up for 1 or 2 years. Hopefully at that point, he can play some LT.
