  1. Wesson, ease up. Jason is saying that the Bears don't need a great WR, solid WR, and another in round 1. If your argument is really that "HA! I WAS RIGHT! WEEMS IS A WR!," then you're really off base. If Weems gets more than 5 catches this year, something really went wrong for them. That would be like the Bears trading Hester to Oakland, you being a Raiders fan, and saying "the Raiders add WR Hester." No. They added a ST player, just like the Bears just did with Weems. Weems will be their #4 or 5 WR this year.
  2. I saw someone's tweet that now the Lions are going to be the Colts. Stafford will get an extension in the next few years, and all of their money will be locked up into 3 guys: Suh, Stafford, and Johnson. If one goes down, they're f***ed.
  3. I can understand where this is coming from, but if Weems didn't cost too much, this won't be the case. In fact, Weems is a horrible PR and a solid KR, while Hester is a great PT and a horrible KR. Weems will be the KR and will be the ST ace.
  4. Weems is a dynamic ST player. Good signing. I hope he didn't cost too much.
  5. RT @ProFootballTalk: Bears to host free agent cornerback Kelvin Hayden on Wednesday.
  6. Maybe they're confident he's innocent.
  7. The “Beast” has lived up to his nickname, a woman alleges. NFL star wide receiver Brandon Marshall — whose list of run-ins with the law is as long as a football field — allegedly slugged the woman at a Chelsea nightclub, The Post has learned. Marshall was at Marquee early Sunday when he got into an argument with a group of friends celebrating a birthday, law-enforcement sources said. Around 4 a.m., birthday girl Christin Myles, 24. left an upper floor to greet a friend downstairs. When Myles tried to get back upstairs, a bouncer told her she had to wait because there was a fight between two football players — Marshall, 27, and an unknown athlete — who were being thrown out of the club, the sources said. She later met up with her friends, who were arguing with the NFL bad boy and the other football player outside. Marshall — who earned his nickname with his aggressive style of play — then allegedly cold-cocked Myles in the left eye. She suffered a black eye. It wasn’t clear if he allegedly intended to strike her or one of her pals. Myles filed a police report. A lawyer for Marshall — who was traded by the Miami Dolphins yesterday to the Chicago Bears — told The Post that the fight did not involve Marshall or his friends. “While attempting to leave to avoid the melee [Marshall’s wife] was struck in the face by a thrown bottle. She suffered serious injury. While attempting to leave and take his wife to the hospital, the mayhem continued outside. Mr. Marshall is hoping to assist authorities in regards to this matter." Police said the only report filed about that night names Marshall as a perpetrator. Marshall’s rep declined to deny whether he threw a punch or say whether he attempted to file a police report about his wife’s injuries. Sources said the Bears weren’t aware of the incident. The melee came less than a year after Marshall was rushed to a Florida hospital after his wife allegedly stabbed him. Marshall, who’s been busted at least six times, was involved in a New Year’s Eve 2006 fight in Denver that led to a teammate being fatally shot in a drive-by. per NYT
  8. per Schefter, Marshall was involved in another OTF incident and may face league ruling.
  9. Conte was pretty solid. Wright has his moments but overall he has a lot of work to do. I'll believe it when I see it, but I find it hard to fathom that Lovie will just kick Wright to the curb with a Landry signing. It seems un-Lovielike to take a former 3rd rounder and stick him on ST.
  10. Just talked to my source. He says he believes Williams really would love to play in Chicago but doesn't want to take as much of a discount as he'd have to to play in Chicago. He claims that he believes Williams will visit Jacksonville next.
  11. Washington gave Garcon almost $9m/year, and the Bucs gave Jackson $11m/year. However, the Bears come away with a WR who's LEAPS AND BOUNDS better than Garcon and a WR who's better than Jackson. Marshall is also younger than Jackson, and is 2nd in the NFL over the past 5 years in receptions trailing only Wes Welker. But really, why the f*** did Snyder give Garcon that much money? How f***ing dumb.
  12. I've also read $3m, but I'd bet that's with bonuses which for backups, that cannot be reached unless they play. So, for cap reasons and just common sense, let's hope he doesn't see the field this year.
  13. Speaking of Canada, what CFL team do you think fits Hanie's horrible mechanics the best? The Argonauts, Lions, or Eskimos? Also, do any of those teams need a 3rd string LT? I hear Webb might need a job soon.
  14. Yeah, Vaughn McClure mentioned it at the end of CTL today. Landry is a rich man's Meriweather.
  15. There's always @NotBMarsh15 for your parody needs for the time being.
  16. It's not Lovie's forte to build on the secondary. He prefers to have average/solid players back there and a fierce pass rush to make it easier on those guys.
  17. I wonder if the next step is Barber being cut, and I wonder if Peppers would be willing to move around his deal so they can use another $2m for Williams.
  18. I heard he went to visit Dallas today.
  19. Not surprising. They'll be losing Graham, and Costanzo is a beast.
  20. Cutler is in Cabo. As for Marshall, I agree. He has changed his twitter name twice though, from BMarshall19 to TheBMarshall15 and now to BMarshall. Interesting.
  21. Some website said he was their 12th best DE in 2011 and that he had 45 QB pressures last year. Also, Pete Prisco (CBS' lead douchebag writer) says Mincey was awesome in 2011.
  22. Good move for the Rams. I figured they'd have the upper hand with Fisher there.
  23. I wonder if the Bills focus on OT with their pick or if they pair Williams up with Coples. It may not be official yet, but it's all but a done deal.
  24. RT @JoeB_WGR: Per @gggaughan of The Buffalo News, #Bills are committed to making Mario Williams the highest paid defensive player in the league. Whoa.
