  1. I'm just wondering what potential Vontaze Burfict has. He's a whiner, fat, slow, unproductive, and uncoachable. Otherwise, I like your mock better. Yeah, if Worthy is there in round 3, that would be a great pick, but a lot of scouts think he's better as a NT in a 3-4. And yes, McNutt in round 5? That would be unbelievable. I'm not going to do a mock until FA is over, but I will say this: if the Bears lose out on every WR in FA, then Wright has to be the pick at 19 or they have to trade up for Floyd.
  2. Jenkins needed a really good combine, and with the exception of his 40 time, his other things were just decent or middle of the pack, such as broad jump, vertical, hand size, etc. I'm not going to guarantee it, but there are a lot of WR's ahead of him (Floyd, Blackmon, Sanu, Wright, Criner, Randle, Streeter, M.Jones, etc) and a deep FA WR class, so therefore, his services might not be asked for until rounds 4-5. Don't get me wrong; I wouldn't mind him with the late 3rd the Bears have, but don't be shocked if he falls down into the mid rounds.
  3. He's probably not a starting OG anymore, but he might just be a nice back-up on this team, especially if they move Williams to LT and sign Grubbs. They won't really have much OG depth then.
  4. Jenkins will be lucky to go in round 3.
  5. If they didn't have Carimi, this would be a spectacular draft. Unfortunately, they do. I love the first pick, and I like Criner, but Massie will be a nice RT for a team that really needs one in round 2. Judie had a decent combine IIRC, so he would be a great pick that late. Again, I'm going to hold off on the mocks until FA is over. If they sign a WR and DE, they can go LT, CB, DT, and S/WR in the first 3 rounds. If I had to do this now before FA, here is what I think the Bears big board should look like: Martin, OT, Stanford Floyd, WR, Notre Dame Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama Jenkins, CB, N.Alabama Adams, OT, Ohio State Glenn, OL, Georgia Barron, S, Alabama Konz, C, Wisconsin
  6. Side note: Emery was apart of the Falcons staff that drafted him in round 5 in 2005 (or maybe it was 2006, I can't remember). Anyhow, on an EVEN brighter note (who knew that was possible with such news like this?), the releasing of Adams and Omiyale frees up about $3.1m in cap room.
  7. RT @BradBiggs: #Bears could target #Seahawks John Carlson in free agency if they're seeking a tight end upgrade.
  8. IIRC, the Bears Pro Shop is run by DNC, and therefore my contact has nothing to do with them. Even if they aren't run by DNC, my buddy isn't in the Pro Shop.
  9. Agree. The traditions stuff is so nice.
  10. Would you guys be opposed to drafting 2 wideouts in the first 2 rounds? If some team outbids the Bears on Jackson, Johnson stays in Buffalo, Wayne goes wherever Peyton goes, Colston stays, and Bowe gets tagged, wouldn't this make sense? Also, keep in mind that it seems like the organization likes Webb and Williams at LT. I don't love this idea, because I think making the D younger is more important, but Floyd and Hill/Sanu wouldn't be too bad.
  11. Until 4:00 CT, everything (except Bears TRADITIONS clothing line) is 50% off if you use LEAP50 as a promotional code when you check out.
  12. Nothing says #1 WR and "the Bears should draft him" like durability issues, legal problems, and a case of the fumbles..
  13. STL will trade down with Cleveland and Blackmon will go 4th overall then. Floyd will go to the Jags at 7 or maybe even the Jets or Chargers if they lose Jackson. This leaves the Bears with a LT, CB, or DE at 19. Stephen Hill would be a nice 2nd round pick. He sort of reminds me of Jeremy Maclin. They look alike in the face, have similar body types, and are both really fast. But, he's never been featured because of Georgia Tech's goofy offense. Being a featured NFL WR in a big city might be too much for him.
  14. Not only this, but Grubbs is a 28 year old Pro Bowler. He'd be an upgrade on virtually any team.
  15. Probably because he's a good OG and the Bears OL sucks.
  16. RT @skjensen: RT @RavensInsider: Hearing #Bears are a logical destination for Ravens guard Ben Grubbs if he leaves Baltimore. Nothing concrete right now
  17. PFT reported earlier that Green Bay is likely to cut Chad Clifton and restructure Donald Driver's deal. I know Clifton is 35, but he'd be an instant upgrade at LT. Perhaps this way, they can get LT and WR done in FA and focus on the D in the draft. Just a thought.
  18. Depending on the way the contract is structured + player/team options, it definitely could help the cap.
  19. Jeffery weighed in today at the combine at 6'1 216. So much for 250. These rumors can now be put to rest.
  20. If he signed a deal like that here, we'd all be pretty happy.
  21. Just because Jerry Rice was a great player doesn't mean he knows a lot about present day WR's. I would highly doubt that he took the time last year to watch 2-4 Saints, Patriots, Chiefs, Eagles, and Chargers games to know what WR's are better than others. The fact that he has Wes Welker above Bowe is insane. Welker drops tons of passes and is a SLOT receiver. I would take Bowe over Welker, Jackson, or Colston any day.
  22. Agree. This league is becoming QB and TE oriented. They passed up on Hernandez and Gronkowski a few drafts ago, and they dealt Olsen. Now, it's Davis' time to shine. If not, they should be looking for one.
