  1. Minnesota has a great pash rush and a great run defense. As a team, yes they're horrible. Still, don't diminish the ability of their defensive front 7. But, because the OL gave the Bears time to throw, those crappy WR's that we all love to hate on were able to get open. It's amazing what 6 and 7 seconds in the pocket can do in terms of finding open WR's. And, because the OL gave Cutler time to throw, that made their great run D susceptible to the run, thus Forte gashed them. I think all jason is saying is that if Cutler gets that much protection week in and week out, we'll probably see 260+ yards and 2+ TD's week in and week out. The only problem is, he's hardly ever getting that protection. My fault. FWIW, I also pick a guy I love in every draft (last year it was Carimi and Paea). The guy I love in the 2012 draft is Michael Floyd. I'd take Floyd, Blackmon, or Jeffery.
  2. No point in using sarcasm. All I did was correct your spelling. If you want to be the president of his fan club, you should be able to spell his name correctly without looking it up. I'm sure the network showed a graphic with his name on it, despite what the announcers were saying.
  3. 1. Cutler was terrific. It's amazing what he can do with more time to throw. 2. Hester was awesome. It's jekyl and hyde for him- last week he played like an idiot and this week he was amazing, both at WR and on ST. I hope his chest is alright. We all know how bad chest injuries can be, just ask Earl Bennett. 3. Chris Williams, from what I saw live, is turning into a pretty good OG. 4. Louis and Spencer on the right side is a good combo, for now. Who goes out of the lineup when Carimi comes back? 5. The OL, as a whole, needs to cut down on false starts. They had a couple more today. There's no excuse to have a few of them at home. 6. Are people still questioning Stephen Paea? He was very good tonight and hopefully this means the end of useless Toeaina. 7. Peppers was awesome. That push-sack of McNabb was hilarious yet a shocking display of strength. He needs to have more leg injuries.. 8. Minnesota is in rough shape. They might be moving to LA, their team sucks, they have no fans, etc.
  4. I insist on it because if he's so damn good and he's such a big fan, he should know his actual name. This isn't a spelling bee. It's a simple word- Jeffery. Jeffery could very well be a top 10 pick, but he may slip a little. If he goes top 10, Floyd isn't a bad WR to fall back on. He's very good.
  5. Once again, his name is JEFFERY, and once again, there are a lot of people who think Jeffery will have a hard time against pro CB's.
  6. I think you're off here. I think Martz truly was the 4th or 5th choice as OC, and when all of the candidates ahead of him went elsewhere or stayed in their city, the Bears had no choice but to hire Martz. Granted, it all seems fishy now because Martz has been trash since coming here and Lovie and him were in St. Louis together, but I truly think Martz was the 4th or 5th choice, even in Lovie's mind.
  7. I'd still guess Peppers will give it a go.
  8. Poopy? Minnesota has been pretty good at times and bad at other times. I could make an argument that the Bears are worse than the Vikings. Minnesota has had big leads at times this year and that doesn't happen by being "poopy." I say Bears 19-16.
  9. Wayne is getting up there in age and Lloyd is always decent but no team ever wants him. There has to be a reason for that. And people, stop saying they should ignore a #1 WR if they don't have any OL. That's ridiculous. No team is going to be willing to deal an elite OT or OG right now. Evan Mathis? It seems like he's been terrific given Philly's offensive struggles. And Starks is not elite.
  10. Omiyale to who cares and Cutler to GM.
  11. Peppers will play, according to Izzy. I wouldn't say "Conte is a bust" if he sucks on MNF. This will be his first start in the NFL. It'd be too quick to judge, but I'm also skeptical of the pick.
  12. Potentially giving up a 1st round pick for a guy still owed $25 million who's also on the brink of being classified as "mentally insane" is an absolutely horrible idea.
  13. arrogance@howdidiluckoutandgetanextensionlastseason.org Is this real?
  14. I have one reason for being a Bears fan: I grew up in it, my dad had season tickets, and since has left them for me. My 5 ways to fix the Bears: fire Angelo, hire better scouts, sign a solid LT, trade up for Justin Blackmon if necessary, and sign Forte.
  15. Agree jason, but the Bears are like 6-2 in their last 8 MNF games.
  16. Tice doesn't decide when to bench the OL. That's all Lovie. Tice can't teach concentration, sorry. Omiyale is dogs*** and would be that if Jesus Christ himself was his OL coach.
  17. 1. MadLith- I love your posts, but today is a game that I could make an argument that Hester lost for the Bears. His presence did nothing today. The Bears never got great field position on punts because of him. He would've had a 0 yard catch but instead ran backwards for a loss of 6. He dropped an easy TD. Yes, he made a tough catch, but again, he ran on that kick-off, caught it, and went out at the 6. He's a moron, and if a team wants to give the Bears a 2nd and a 4th for him, be my guest. I'll drive his expensive, wasteful a** to the airport. 2. Is anyone still questioning Cutler now? Dude's a beast. It's a shame his career has come to this. He would've won a Super Bowl in 2009 with McDaniels. Shame. 3. This goes back to #3, but JA should be canned. He has done d**k to help Cutler's progress. Great job trading up for Stephen Paea. I think he'll be a solid DT one day, but they could've used that on a decent WR or OG. 4. Carimi couldn't come back any sooner. Omiyale should be charged with the attempted murder of Cutler. Webb is trash, too. 5. Urlacher and Briggs were MIA today, and Peppers (although he got hurt) was once again invisible. Melton (also again) was nowhere to be found. Anthony Adams and Matt Toeaina are garbage, BTW. And, if Chris Harris was 75% today, then he should've just sat again. For the record, Meriweather is horrible. 6. Matt Forte is a beast. Big ups to him (again). 7. Jahvid Best had like 60 yards all season, and had about 160 today. Great job preparing YOUR defense, Lovie. All week Lovie talked about how this is a must-win and HIS "great" LB's didn't show up and neither did HIS d-line. 8. Why did Lovie go for it on that 4th and 1? They had a chance to go up 3-0 in a hostile environment. But since he didn't and chose to go for it, where the f*** was Barber? If they're not going to use him on a 4th and 1, why is he even on the team? All in all- GOOD: Cutler, Forte BAD: Everyone else (no joke, coaches included)
  18. I'm almost 100% sure Ferguson got a huge deal a year or 2 ago. Dockery was a UFA this offseason and the Bears didn't go after him. Barnes is a RT and he'd have no spot with Carimi there. I'd love Bowe, and Colston at the right price given he's hurt a lot. Garcon would be interesting but he'd be another 5'10" WR who's fast.
  19. No. Stop drafting them. Sign a LT. The Bears will be drafting in the 12-20 range, and they won't find a LT there. Then again, if they think Carimi is a future LT, then I agree they should go RT in round 1.
  20. Yeah, Tice was a moron out there today when he kept jumping pre-snap...oh wait...
  21. I don't know any Oakland fans, but are they happy he died? As a Blackhawks fan, I know I was ecstatic when Wirtz kicked it. Seriously, Davis' drafting was pathetic these past few years and this could the Raiders going forward.
  22. It's Alshon Jeffery, and IMO, he's not even the 2nd best WR in the upcoming draft, behind Blackmon and Floyd. With Roach at OLB and Briggs going elsewhere in the offseason, would taking a LB be bad? With Adams, Melton, Toeania, and Paea, is taking a DT that bad? And no, nobody is dreaming. Angelo said recently that his WR's have "reached their plateau," so taking a WR round 1 isn't "dreaming," even though Angelo has said in the past that he doesn't believe in #1 WR's. Still, there is no denying the talent of Jeffery, Blackmon, or Floyd, and with his recent comments, he's going to take a long, hard look at those 3 guys. If he goes OT, OG, DT, LB, etc in round 1, there are other good round 2 and 3 WR's: Mohamed Sanu, Jeff Fuller, Juron Criner, T.Y. Hilton, Nick Toon, Dwight Jones, and Ryan Broyles. Taking a guy like Manti Te'o or Luke Kuechly at LB or Brandon Thompson or Jared Crick at DT wouldn't be a bad thing, if those 3 WR's are off the board. Even then, let's not act like the Bears have good DT's or good depth at LB.
  23. Here's Matt Bowen's way. http://www.csnchicago.com/pages/bearsvideo# Click the one that says "CTL panel discusses..." Fast forward to about 6:10.
  24. Another stupid a**hole who will likely run the wrong way or not come back for the ball. Intriguing...
