  1. First they list the draft and their grades, then the readers' comments, and then FA under all of that. http://walterfootball.com/offseason2011chi.php Thoughts?
  2. I go to every regular season game. Why should I go to preseason games and watch the starters for 4 possessions if I could get half of my money back? If anyone is interested, my Browns/Bears preseason tickets are on eBay right now for $120.
  3. I hear you now. So you meant top 5? In the 2006 NFC title game, not one of the 8 analysts on ESPN at the time picked the Bears. I can't see anyone picking 5 teams who won't make the playoffs this year for the 2nd straight year. That's a little absurd. I'd be willing to bet the playoffs this year will have all but 1 or 2 teams as last year's playoffs had. Jets, Packers, Patriots, Ravens, Steelers, Chiefs, Falcons, and the Saints are probably all givens, and you could include Indianapolis.
  4. So when Cutler gets hurt ("quits") and everyone on this board gets pissed at him, remember yourself saying this. Or, remember the fact that he's a human being, and human beings can't take a beating once or twice a week like Cutler will have to endure for the 2nd straight year.
  5. I got $130 for my 3 on eBay, same face as your's, Connor. You should've taken that route.
  6. Like Brad Biggs said, a "good" CB isn't still on the market 2 weeks in training camp. Something's wrong here.
  7. Here's my problem with this preseason OL- it may just get Cutler killed before week 1.
  8. What do you mean by a top of the league QB? I can certainly make an argument that he's a top 10 QB.
  9. If anyone here sees my "Predictions" thread, you will see I have the Bears going 12-4/11-5. The schedule is pretty favorable. Of course the first 3 weeks are tough, but they were last year too, and the Bears won all 3.
  10. If Hayden signs here, Moore won't play any CB.
  11. A lot of you hate doing this when the schedule is released because teams improved a lot through the draft and FA, so now that it's all over with, here I go.. FALCONS WIN ---I think this is a toss up, but hey, it's a home game and the Bears have a great D while Atlanta does not. @ Saints LOSS ---This is tough, but I think the Saints will come out on top. Better offense, period. PACKERS WIN ---Another tough won, but the Bears and Pack always play each other tough recently. I give the edge to the Bears because it's at home. PANTHERS WIN ---Whether it's Clausen or Newton, the Bears are the better team. @ Lions LOSS ---I firmly stand by my statement that Detroit is overrated but this is their first MNF game in years, so I give them the edge (if Stafford is healthy). VIKINGS WIN ---Minnesota has a washed up QB and no WR's. Their DL is old too, and their secondary sucks. @ Buccaneers WIN ---Josh Freeman is a good QB, but he isn't a very flashy QB. He's like Orton on steroids if you look at the stats. I give this game to the Bears, but I wouldn't if it was in Tampa Bay. @ Eagles LOSS ---The Eagles are loaded, it's a night game, and it's on the road. LIONS WIN ---This game might have the weather factor going, and it's a home game. Detroit still has no OL or secondary. CHARGERS WIN ---Cutler vs Rivers, two hated rivals, but I give the edge to the Bears because the Bears ST are great while San Diego's blows. @ Raiders WIN ---The Raiders love to run the ball, and the Bears stop the run very well. CHIEFS WIN ---Similar to Oakland, the Chiefs run the ball to get wins. The Bears don't let opposing teams run. @ Broncos WIN ---This will be interesting because who knows if Cutler will try too hard or not, but the Broncos are a mess. SEAHAWKS WIN ---Seattle just isn't a good team led by Tavaris Jackson. @ Packers LOSS ---Every year from now on, I think I'm going to give GB the wins in GB and the Bears the wins in Chicago. The Packers are too tough at home and their OLB's will be all over Cutler. @ Vikings WIN ---This might be a loss, especially if the Bears only have 4 losses at this point because they would sit their starters, but they're so much better than Minnesota.
  12. The OL, according to Tice, will be Webb-Williams-Garza-Louis-Carimi. Uh oh..
  13. 1. Cutler looked good and bad at times. Urlacher had a nice pick vs Cutler but Cutler had 2 great throws, one deep slant to Williams and another streak down the sideline to Hester. 2. Sanzenbacher is holding his own. If he continues to play this way, he'll make the team. I love eating crow... 3. Paea had a cast on his right leg and had a pretty bad limp. I hope he's alright. 4. I didn't see Spencer play much, if at all. 5. Marion Barber is a beast. Forte is jacked too. 6. It amazes me how stupid some fans are. How could people say "Cutler is a fata** who sucks. Hanie is better?" What do people see in Hanie? He threw 2 INT's last year in one half of football. If he was that good, he wouldn't have been the 3rd string QB for most of the year. And also, Cutler looks like he's about 220, which doesn't make him fat. People with diabetes, especially type 1, have a hard time staying lean. People need to get their s*** straight. Eventually, I started opening up my mouth and they moved away from us.
  14. If you guys are interested, try primesport.com/chicagobears As a STH, I got the tiny brochure in the mail, and they have deals for travel packages for the Saints, Bucs, and Broncos game. The Saints and Broncos ones aren't quite the deals, but the London one is intriguing. Check it out. FWIW, I PM'ed ParkerBear because he's from Denver, but my 2011 roadtrip is the Broncos game in December.
  15. Word out of Bourbonnais is that Melton has been terrific so far.
  16. Knox, to me, is a frustrating player to watch. He doesn't fight for the ball and there's no reason to not at least try, and he doesn't break many tackles, which I guess is understandable given his size. This may not bode well for Knox, as rumors out of camp say he wants a new deal also and he's looking for Hester money. For that reason alone, they should start preparing to move on without him. If he indeed wants $40m and $20m of it guaranteed, he can go elsewhere. To me, Bennett and Hester OR Williams should start. As for Forte, I've been saying since he came into the league that he's arguably better than Adrian Peterson. He's a better receiver, he barely fumbles, and he's a much better blocker. There is no doubting that AD is more powerful (and even that could be questioned after the way Forte showed up to Bourbonnais) but there is much more to being a RB than a player's strength. In conclusion, he needs a new contract and I'd bet he'll get one soon.
  17. Taylor hasn't been cut and probably won't be. If anything, Unga will be the one cut, like I said a week or so ago.
  18. Welcome aboard. You have 6 posts, but I don't remember you, so welcome. I agree. I can hardly wait until the first preseason game, yet alone the first regular season game.
  19. Maybe the Park District missed the memo that the HOF game was canceled and the Bears needed the field today... In all seriousness, this is a complete joke, but it's been this bad (though not this early in the year) the past 4 years. Why would they turn to turf now?
  20. I've heard that the Bears didn't even offer him $4m/yr. They were just ready to move on. And for everyone who says that Spencer sucks- if he sucks, then Kreutz is god f***ing awful.
  21. Tatupu isn't even 29 yet while Urlacher is already 33.
  22. I'd say he ends in the 50-59 range, but 60+ isn't totally impossible. Sure he's a moron, but I think Williams will be a better pick-up for this team than most people think.
  23. No, that was Lovie and Turner when they decided to pass on 2nd and 1 in the rain which caused a fumble. Or, you can blame Benson, who decided to quit on the team, and I mean actually quit. I wish Harris the best, but if he couldn't be productive with Marinelli as a coach and Peppers on one end and Idonije on the other and if he couldn't take the Chicago media, he probably can't be very good with the Colts.
  24. Like someone said on this board, they'd bring him in for a year or 2 until Urlacher retires or leaves. Which BTW is interesting because I believe his contract is up after this year or next, and with the way Kreutz left, it wouldn't surprise me if the Bears do the same with Urlacher. Anyway, that's for a different day, so when that happens, Tatupu becomes the MLB. If this happens, I bet Roach won't be too happy.
