  1. It sounds like players who were going to be RFA's will be RFA's and those were supposed to be UFA's will be UFA's.
  2. You're correct. Every team must reach the cap floor at the least (hence- "floor). So yes, the Bears have spending to do. I hope they start with re-signing Kreutz, getting a few nice players from other teams, keeping Rod Wilson, and eventually giving Forte an extension. Forte is probably, IMO, the best underrated player in football. If he played for the Patriots, Giants, or Jets, there would be handjobs all around courtesy of the media.
  3. I know they'll be in great shape. Last year, their cap was about $75.73 million, or about that. Granted, I'm likely off by some millions. This means they'll have to reach a certain number this year by signing players who will get them to at least the cap floor. In conclusion, they can sign 2 high priced FA's. Remember, though, they have to sign their rookies and Kreutz first, along with other players that were Bears last year (Rod Wilson for example). Luckily, the Packers will be the 2nd most affected team by this new cap in the NFC behind the Giants.
  4. As do I, and that's the "F" word. But why is Goodell a puppet? Half of this rant doesn't even make sense, including the picture with the guns. Calling Roger Goodell a puppet isn't exactly using the word in the right context and calling Mendenhall a fumble machine (most rushes in the NFL and only 2 fumbles in 16 regular season games) & saying Roethlisberger tries to hard to be Peyton Manning (see the stat I posted above) are false.
  5. I know something still has to be done with the OL, but a 30 year old OG from Atlanta may not be the key. I'm still not sold on a 7th round pick out of a small school in his 2nd year being the LT for Jay Cutler, but hey, I have no control over anything.
  6. If he wants to be angry, fine, but that "I hate Goodell" and "Goodell is a crock, puppet, and a faggot" s*** is unacceptable.
  7. Agreed. None of those OL pop out to me. Perhaps Tyson Clabo would be a nice addition at OG, but for the money he's going to want and the fact that he's going to be 30 in October, I'd rather pass unless he comes cheaper than I think he will.
  8. Yeah, fined because he's hitting players on their helmets with his helmet. It's a rule. Follow it. Nobody else is getting fined the amount of times that he has. What he "feels" is irrelevant here. It's a rule. If you don't like it, take your game to the CFL. For the record, it doesn't seem like he likes to be in that "locker room" you're referring to. It sounds like he doesn't like a few of the bigger name players.
  9. I'd much rather have Vincent Jackson. I'm getting tired of 5'9" WR's running routes for the Bears. But, he'll likely command lots of money and no one is completely sure of the FA rules once the lockout is over.
  10. I actually have a problem with the Goodell comments. The bottom line, nobody likes Goodell at this point except for the owners. I understand everyone's frustration. However, James Harrison is being paid a lot of money by a league that is paying Roger Goodell to be the commissioner. James Harrison needs to just STFU and wait patiently for the lockout to end. If it wasn't for the NFL, what would James Harrison be doing? Needless to say, I hope he enjoys his 3-4 game suspension. Oh, and FWIW, if Mendenhall is a fumble machine and Roethlisberger isn't as good as Peyton Manning, then what is James Harrison? He had a whopping 1 tackle in the Super Bowl last year, while Roethlisberger threw only 3 picks in his end last year while Manning threw 12. Think before you talk, dumba**.
  11. He won't come cheap, but he shouldn't cost very much.
  12. There was a thread awhile back where we discussed MSW and the fact that he's supposedly a cancer in the room with quotes and links.
  13. Remember, they just drafted Conte (who they're high on), they took Major Wright last year, and C.Harris is still under contract. I doubt Weddle would want to come here and have to compete for a job. I know he's better right now than Wright or Conte, but JA isn't going to ditch his last 2 FS's drafted already. Chances are, if you sign Weddle, it'll be a 3-4 year deal.
  14. Did you just tell me it's not that cold in Denver in December?
  15. Why would signing Cullen Jenkins mean they wouldn't go after a WR or OL?
  16. Scratch TO off of the list. He had ACL surgery yesterday.
  17. The Bears aren't going to spend another $120 million, dude. For the right price, I wouldn't mind him. Apparently, he's a headache in the locker room, though. Who knows what will happen to those 2 after a new CBA? They could become UFA's.
  18. If the Bears can sign Sidney Rice and Nicks or Mankins, they'll be a tough out in the playoffs. Just saying. Last year, they were a healthy QB away from the Super Bowl. If they add a Pro Bowl OG along with their rookie OT + a great WR, no team will want to play Chicago in mid-January and on.
  19. I was going to go. Every year, as I'm sure y'all know, I go to see the Bears play 1 road game. However, this year, none of the visiting cities catch my eye. Denver was my first choice, but that was if the game was in September or October. I typically try to go to a warmer weather city. If I want to sit in the frigid weather in December, I can go to a home game.
  20. I like to see this, but I'm not surprised. People across the country probably are because Cutler is perceived to be a d***head. Anyways, here comes all of the boneheaded fans- "OMGZZ HE IZ HEALTHY CUZ HE WAS NEVA HURT HE QUIT ON HIS TEAM!!!!!!1!"
  21. I wouldn't mind giving Plax a shot, but I doubt JA will. Moss? No. He's done. Ochocinco? Sure, why not? I mean, I wouldn't want to give up a 2nd rounder for him. TO? Yuck. Haven't we been over this? He has never played in a playoff game and his team won.
  22. I agree: I am dead bored with this s***. Agree to a f***ing CBA already.
