  1. Apparently Cutler was the first Bear to text Carimi welcoming him to Chicago. Also, Carimi's first tweet was something like "Can't wait to meet the organization, players, and fans. Can't wait to block for Cutler!!" Oh, and he told Brad Biggs he's going to "work his buns off" to block for Cutler.
  2. I say they look hard at WR and DT, and end up with Stephen Paea. Leonard Hankerson wouldn't be a bad choice. I doubt Marvin Austin will be available at 62.
  3. Angelo just said his attempt to move up was for Carimi, not Baldwin. As for tomorrow, I think JA takes a hard look at Will Rackley, but ends up with Stephen Paea from Oregon State. He always wants to improve the DL, and it'll be no different after releasing Harris. BTW, I think Carimi starts out at RT. JA wants to give Webb a shot at LT (scary, I know). If that fails, Carimi may play a lot of LT next season.
  4. I doubt it. JA never takes WR's high, and Baldwin has character issues. The Bears had much bigger issues than WR and DL. If you don't believe me, watch the Giants game when the Bears went to NY this past year.
  5. Hell, if Bowers was THIS good, I doubt he would've been a 2nd ranked player 2 months and now a 2nd round player. Let Bears4Ever think whatever. If he wants to keep hitting QB's but continue to get his hurt like Detroit, fine, but I'd rather protect Cutler.
  6. Why? Is this your excuse for yourself to say "OMGZZZZ kutler is a pussy!!!!!" when Cutler gets f***ed up again? I guess 28 other teams passed up on this "beast," too. Ease up, man. The Bears need a guy to protect their QB. Why invest $100 million in a player and invest nothing in players to protect him?
  7. Very excited. Tice loves him. He should be the starting RT in September.
  8. 1. Marvin Austin, DT, North Carolina 2. Danny Watkins, OG, Baylor 3. James Carpenter, OT, Alabama 4. Kendric Burney, CB, North Carolina 5. Ryan Winterswyk, DE, Boise State 6. Shiloh Keo, S, Idaho My THOUGHTS, not WHAT I WANT.
  9. I'm not sure you can build your future with a 27 year old guard. I think Watkins can be very good, don't get me wrong. Mike Mayock compared him to Logan Mankins. However, I'd rather wait until the 2nd round for him. Every year, there's going to be OG's taken high, and when the draft comes, the 2nd best OG is still there in the 3rd. For example, does anyone remember Duke Robinson from Oklahoma 1 or 2 years ago? Everyone had the Bears taking him with their 1st rounder, and the guy lasted until round 6.
  10. Yeah, agree. I'll remember him for ending that a**hole's career. Perhaps he meant Melton. While I don't think either Wooton or Melton are cornerstones, I believe Melton will be the better of the two in 3 years.
  11. I like Austin and Little, but I'd prefer 1 of the 2, not both. JA always gets 1 guy with issues it seems. Plus, Tandon Doss has arguably the best hands in this draft. And BTW, when you said Wooton is a cornerstone...that was a joke, yeah?
  12. I wouldn't mind Sherrod, and he'd be a good pick. But, I disagree with Austin. He's good enough to be picked in the 1st round. Don't think a guy can be taken higher than 62 after sitting out for a season? Robert Quinn won't last past 15. As for Little, the Bears might want to take a guy in this draft with some character. Little and Austin might find each other in trouble in a huge, fun city like Chicago, especially being former teammates and all. I'd much rather have Tandon Doss or Niles Paul here, or like you mentioned, Leonard Hankerson if he falls (doubtful).
  13. If my math is right, 28 picks taking 10 minutes each (the full allowed time) would take 280 minutes, which is about 4.4 hours, so almost 11:00 CT?
  14. I read somewhere the ring was 5.2 carats. Looks like the OVER wins on that one.
  15. Let's play a little over/under: Carats in the diamond on the ring: 5. Years the marriage lasts: 2. Months until they announce a child is on the way: 25. Super Bowl rings he wins while they're still together: 0.5.
  16. by judge, per ESPN Obviously, the owners will appeal again, but hey, hope is hope and I'll take what I can get.
  17. But I don't see the problem with trading down this year. To begin with, there is a chance every "talked about" OT will be off the board (Sherrod, Castonzo, Smith, Solder, Carimi), and this isn't even including another OL, albeit a OG/C, Mike Pouncey. By the look of things around this board, keeping the 29th pick and not ending up with an OT/OG/C would eventually turn into World War 3. What if Angelo, with every talked up OT off the board + Pouncey, takes Stephen Paea or a WR? Then everyone here will be pissed off. If all of these said OT's are gone, I would trade down. Pick up an additional 2nd and another 3rd, and draft Danny Watkins and James Carpenter, 2 guys who should have no problem stepping into the lineup right away.
  18. ATL- MadLith, this game isn't in primetime, IIRC. This should be a win. Atlanta is a good team but they showed a lot of holes in the playoffs. WIN @NO- I fully expect this to be a 14 point loss, but nobody thought Chicago would win in Dallas in week 2 last year, either. LOSS GB- Tough game, but I think the Bears sneak this one out. WIN CAR- Do I need to explain? WIN @DET- This will be a tough game. Detroit's first MNF game since 2001. Bears sneak one out here, as well. WIN MIN- As long as the Vikings have nobody at QB, the Bears embarrass them on national TV. WIN @TB- This will be a tough one along with the following week. Tampa beats the Bears with a late TD. LOSS @PHI- The Bears handled Vick last year, but this one is in Philly at night. LOSS DET- The Lions keep getting a tad better, but the Bears are superior. WIN SD- In a battle of old rivals, Cutler and Rivers, Rivers' DEFENSE outplays the Bears D. LOSS @OAK- Raiders have a good run game, but the Bears D is historically good vs the run. Bears edge this one out. WIN KC- Just like Oakland, the Chiefs run the s*** out of the ball, but once again, the Bears stop the run. WIN @DEN- Denver is awful. They can't stop the run, and their QB competition is the tallest midget contest. WIN SEA- This should be a win based on relatively tough games surrounding it, but it might be a trap game with GB lurking. Anyways, Bears win a close one. WIN @GB- I think the Pack will kill the Bears in this game, once again establishing they're the NFC's best...for now. LOSS @MIN- The Vikings stink. WIN Are any of these far-fetched? Yes, but are any out of the question? No. Remember, the Bears were a pretty damn good team last year, despite criticism at every position. With an improved OL, I don't see why 11-5 can't happen again.
  19. I do this every year, just for a little fun. If the Bears had the #1 pick this year, whether it was via trade or because of their play, who would you all want them to select? **I didn't include Gabbert and Newton for obvious reasons, nor did I include any OT's because none are even worth a top 7 pick in this year's draft, and I doubt they'd ever take Von Miller (an OLB) with their current needs at #1.
  20. I highly doubt the scheduling for the preseason has much to do with location. In 2008, IIRC, the Bears played in Seattle and the 49ers played in Chicago.
  21. Yeah, as a STH, I'm pretty happy this is an away game. 5 preseason games and a game in London. Maybe I'm overreacting, but I don't know how much of that I'm in favor of.
  22. per chicagobears.com. Why the f*** do they play Cleveland every preseason? I'm sick of staring at those ugly brown and orange uniforms with those plain, orange helmets for a pointless preseason game every year.
