  1. Of course, this is assuming Detroit actually improves again. They have no secondary whatsoever. If I asked you to name me 2 of their DB's, you wouldn't be able to do it. Hell, I can't even do it right now off of the top of my head. Detroit also has no OL, which has been the reason Matthew Stafford (aka- glass doll) gets hurt every year. While the Bears have no OL either, Chicago's QB is either tougher or luckier. The Lions have nothing besides C.Johnson. Brandon Pettigrew might be a good player in a year or 2, but right now, he seems to have no confidence, and when he does catch the ball, he fumbles. I think a lot of people on this board overestimate the Lions. Jahvid Best is a good player, but going all the way back to his college years, he's injury prone. Stafford is hurt A LOT annually, and their secondary is terrible. Until they actually win 9-11 games annually, I won't consider them to be a threat. At the same time, the Bears don't get enough credit on this board. With practically not 1 NFL-starting caliber OL last year and 2 more quarters of their starting QB, they were 8 points away from going to the Super Bowl. Their defense drastically improved last year, also. I'd be shocked if the Bears weren't playing into mid-January or later again.
  2. I don't mean to knit-pick, but that's 10-6. 9+6 doesn't equal 16. I think the Bears could easily win 11 games again, but this time last year, we all talked about how tough it would be to have a good season. It's hard to say; teams improve a lot from year to year. Did anyone think the Bears would lose to Seattle in Chicago, or beat Minnesota twice, or beat the Cowboys in Dallas, or score 38 on the Jets? I highly doubt it. Conservatively, I'd say 10-6/11-5. Possibly better, depending on the improvement of the interior-DL and the whole OL.
  3. I really like Prosinski. Good idea.
  4. I'm aware of the circumstances. I think everyone knows when trades are talked about on here, they are implying they would like to see the trade happen when it is actually able to happen.
  5. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of Olsen. I think there are times when he shows no effort, and his blocking (while it improved a touch this past year) leaves a lot to be desired. I understand he and Cutler are good friends, but this is a business. If he could bring back a 2nd this year, why not make that trade?
  6. per Bears Chalk Talk with Larry Mayer. What do you guys think? I liked those 1946 throwbacks, but I guess it was a one year deal to make more money off of jersey sales.
  7. I've always thought Jenkins was kind of a stroke, but hey, there's no denying his talent. He's always been vastly underrated. If he's cheap or relatively cheap, why not?
  8. 1. Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State 2. Terrell McClain, DT, South Florida 3. Orlando Franklin, OG, Miami 4. Shareece Wright, CB, USC 5. Stephen Burton, WR, West Texas A&M 6. Chris Conte, FS, California
  9. It makes sense since Dent finally got in. The Bears were in it a few years ago vs the Dolphins. I believe it was Berrian's rookie year.
  10. From what I've read, they were at USF's pro-day to watch some DB perform. Obviously, it could be a smoke screen.
  11. I'm a huge Connie's Pizza guy. IMO, it's the best in the city. I love the atmosphere of being downtown, so for a day, just walk around the city. The Magnificent Mile, or Michigan Avenue, is your best bet for shopping. By next month, I don't know if you literally mean next month (April) or if you mean 30 days (end of April, beginning of May), but I know the Sox are at home at the very end of April and the beginning of May. The Cubs are at home near the end of April as well. Check out Navy Pier- that's always a good time. For some reason, THE BEAN thing is popular also. Try to go to the top of the Sears Tower or Hancock Building.
  12. I'm sick of small WR's. I'd rather have Pettis in round 3 than Young in round 2.
  13. Hester had 3 in 2006 (including the Super Bowl) and 2 in 2007. I know Manning had one 2 or 3 years ago vs New Orleans on Thursday Night Football on the opening kickoff of the game. Knox had the one last year, vs I believe Detroit, where that ballboy stayed with him all the way down the sidelines. That's 7 in 5 years off the top of my head. I might be missing 1 or 2, too.
  14. Nothing like taking the most exciting player in football right out of being the most exciting player in football. What's next? Moving punts up 10 yards FOR SAFETY? Bulls***. Maybe I'm over-reacting, but this has a negative effect on the Bears already for 2011. And BTW, this is 1 more reason to not sign D.Manning to an extension.
  15. Ross Cochran, OLB, North Dakota- I know nothing barely anything about the guy besides his height and weight (6'2", 245), but Brad Biggs tweeted about 45 minutes ago that the Bears scheduled with him for April 16. EDIT: I looked him up on Google, and I found this on CDS. He sounds like a late round guy-- Strengths Big, rocked-up OLB. Emotional. Will get involved in a lot of tackles. Slightly-above average pursuit. Has gotten better every year, and may be one of those late bloomers who becomes a better pro than college performer. Has all the computer numbers. Weaknesses Grab tackler. Doesn't play as well as his measurables. Not much of a factor in pass defense. Workout warrior. Has talent, but will need to continue to develop it to have a shot.
  16. Not only is he an ass, but he's a quitter, too. How dare the QB of a football team in a huge market like Chicago be a private person who doesn't want to show off his community work. /endsarcasm But seriously, who ever thought about trading this guy? What a f***ing mistake that would be. Caleb Hanie played average for 2 quarters of football and everyone in this country is ready to annoint him the future. How f***ing stupid is that?
  17. I agree also. This is cool. However, jason: relax man. Typically, the Bears do private workouts and scout guys who they never actually draft. There is probably some facts against this but it seems like it. Point is: there is a 0% chance they draft Vereen. As an SC fan, I've seen him play and I think he'll make a good pro but hopefully it's in another city. The Bears have the most underrated RB in football already.
  18. Didn't Minnesota put a 1st round tender on Rice?
  19. His question was "Who WOULD NOT want Tiki Barber?" My response: "I hope Jerry Angelo," implying I hope Angelo doesn't want him.
  20. I wouldn't mind giving them our 1st for one of each of their seemingly 100 2nd and 3rd rounders.
  21. I've never been a huge MSW fan, but he's 6'2, 215 and has been a good WR in Jacksonville with virtually nobody around him. However, he has played 9, 15, and 14 games the past 3 seasons. Then take the selection out.
  22. Sign Mike Sims-Walker: 5 years, $20 million. 1. Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin ---The Bears had 3 scouts at Wisconsin's pro day. If he's there, he's the pick. 2. Stephen Paea, DT, Oregon State ---I can't imagine he'll fall this far, but if he does, he should be the selection. 3. Rock Carmichael, CB, Virginia Tech ---Carmichael had a good year and is a winner. In round 3, this should be a good time to find a guy to replace Jennings in a year or 2. 4. Kris O'Dowd, C, USC ---O'Dowd can sit a year behind Kreutz. 5. Jah Reid, OG, Central Florida ---The Bears need some OG depth, badly. 6. Dion Lewis, RB, Pittsburgh ---This is iffy because apparently Taylor is staying, but Lewis is a shifty, small back who would be a nice change-of-pace guy. EDIT: NO 7TH ROUND PICK
