  1. Besides the height and his ability to shield off DB's, he sounds a lot like Knox- shys away from contact, takes his eyes off the ball, and doesn't have great hands.
  2. Definitely deserving. Congrats, Richard.
  3. Because none of those guys were 6'4 except Monk, who was IIRC coming off a knee injury in college and was a 7th round pick for a reason. Mannelly and Toeaina were extended during the season.
  4. Striving to one day fulfill my dream of being a secretary for a professional team. I live about 35 miles south of the city. Huge Bears fan (season ticket holder), as well as the Blackhawks (also a season ticket holder) and the White Sox. I love watching hockey. Not a huge NBA guy but I wish the Bulls well. I'm also a USC football fan- saw a game there when I was 10 and fell in love with it. I collect autographs/memorabilia in my free time.
  5. Then we have to ask ourselves: as fans, do you want the organization to take a guy like Tyron Smith? I was never impressed with him at USC as an SC fan and I never would've dreamed he'd be a 1st round pick, but his stock seems to be rising. Like Terra said in another thread, he might weigh in under 285. He had a terrific Senior Bowl week so I doubt he makes it past Minnesota.
  6. If the CBA gets done, I wonder what kind of money he will be looking for. Maybe Tillman money? (IIRC, that was something in the neighborhood of 6 years, $30m.) EDIT- never mind. That seems awfully low although I'm not familiar with how much RB's make these days. Maybe 5y-40m?
  7. No way Solder is there when the Bears pick. I guarantee he goes in the top 15.
  8. I agree on Webb. I know he was a rookie and made strides. As a matter of fact, I agree with you on the OL except I say draft for LT instead of C (or atleast not a C in the 1st 3 rounds). People around here are hard on me for not drafting, in order- OG, OT, C, OT, OG, OT, OG in my mock drafts. A Brown? I looked up all players in the draft from Southern Miss and the only WR there is is named DeAndre Brown. I think we agree on Olsen and Davis. I'm just telling you what Martz's philosophy is. And again, we agree on Asomugha. I'd LOVE to have him, but will JA pony up that much money again?
  9. About 2 months ago, we all went over this same thing. I said I'd gladly give up Knox and a 1st, and I was called an idiot BECUZ WE NEED AN OL WITH R 1ST PICK MHWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!1 What gives now?
  10. jason asked what we think JA will do, not what we want him to do.
  11. Sign Logan Mankins and Braylon Edwards. 1. Tyron Smith, OT, USC ---I haven't been a fan of taking an OT this high as you all know. But this is perfect. As a USC fan, Smith is undersized right now. He probably barely scrapes 290. Omiyale and Webb are going to be given chances to succeed. Smith can wait for now. 2. Drake Nevis, NT, LSU ---The Bears NEED help at DT. Tommie Harris? Anthony Adams? Please. Henry Melton has been a surprise but they need youth, skill, and depth here. Plus, Angelo and Lovie stress DL. 3. Rashad "Rock" Carmichael, CB, Virginia Tech ---Tim Jennings has been a surprise also, and Tillman has really played well. The only problem is- Jennings probably isn't the future and Tillman is aging. 4. Sam Acho, DE, Texas ---This is another case of DL depth. Acho would be a steal here and also for the point that Idonije and Peppers are getting up there in age. 5. Will Rackley, OT/OG, Lehigh ---Rackley is a small school guy who is rising up draft boards. I see a trend with those players though- they always get drafted late. Rackley could play RT or OG in the NFL so he's good for depth right now. 6. Lestar Jean, WR, Florida Atlantic. ---Jean was a 2nd team all conference this year and is a big guy at 6'4, 210. Cutler likes those WR's although the coaches rarely listen (see: Aromashodu, Devin). 7. Raymond Webber, WR, Arkansas Pine Bluff ---Small school and 2 straight WR's?! What's the point?! This is the point--this guy might be the STEAL of the draft. He was an AP FCS All-American and was a Walter Payton Award Finalist. He led the NCAA with 101 catches and almost 130 ypg. Also, he's 6'2, 220.
  12. A random date? That's when I last kept up with his stats. Plus, he only played 1 more game after IIRC because Tebow played the last 3. Yes, scoring more points than the Bears. When? Down 30 when the other team is in prevent? Impressive.
  13. How does this stat- As of November 28, in 7 of 10 games, Denver's offense had 0 points in the 1st quarter. In 5 of 10 games, they had 7 or less points at halftime. In 8 of 10, they had 10 or less at halftime. Lastly, in 5 of 10, they had 2 TD's or less going into the 4th quarter.- have anything to do with Denver having a bad defense?
  14. Sean Jensen and Zach Zaidman BOTH said they never saw him cry. Sounds like a slow media day even though the Super Bowl match-up is in place. BTW- Cracker: are you really questioning his mental toughness? The dude threw 26 picks last year in Chicago and came back this year with 10 less and put his team in the NFC title game. I could argue he's the most mentally tough QB in football. What other QB has gone through the adversity Cutler has? Even Marshall Faulk said he'd take Cutler over Rodgers, Sanchez, and Roethlisberger because of his mental toughness.
  15. OMGZ HE QUIT ON DA TEAM THO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 BTW- according to Sean Jensen, the severity is a grade 2 or 3, so at the best, he'll be sidelined 3-4 weeks.
  16. Your 2nd paragraph- I think we're in agreement and you read my post wrong. People need to get off the Cutler-hate train because, while he played like s*** in the 1st half, he WANTED to play in the 2nd half. Your 1st paragraph- Kyle Orton sucks. In case you missed it, here's what I posted in the "Cutler trade a success" thread: Orton: 48% of his yards and 11 of his 17 TD's have come when Denver is down 17+ points. As of November 28, in 7 of 10 games, Denver's offense had 0 points in the 1st quarter. In 5 of 10 games, they had 7 or less points at halftime. In 8 of 10, they had 10 or less at halftime. Lastly, in 5 of 10, they had 2 TD's or less going into the 4th quarter. CAN YOU SAY "GARBAGE TIME!?" Also, Orton has 5 wins since week 6 of 2009 IIRC. Oh, and Orton will likely be on another team next year. (all as of November 28)
  17. Yeah, the defense allowed 19 points to Buffalo, 26 to Philadelphia, 34 to the Jets, 20 to Dallas, 24 to Seattle (playoffs), and 20 to Detroit (2nd time). He did this all with me, my neighbor, MadLith, jason, and my grandma blocking, and Connor and Barack Obama as his #2 and #3 WR's. But yeah, Cutler had no accomplishments. Good call.
  18. Voice of reason III. Thank you.
  19. The Packers are overrated as hell. Rodgers tore up Atlanta, but mustered up 10 points at home to the Bears in a must-win game, 21 points in a playoff game against a bad Philly secondary, and 14 today. Big deal.
  20. I agree. If it's a torn ACL and he's 50% by September, he needs to remember he's the QB and he makes tons of money. He should get his a$$ out there. Philip Rivers did it once. So did Donovan McNabb. Cutler is a p***y. F***ing quitter.
  21. I'm not a genius, but I'm pretty sure Pittsburgh is going to kill GB.
