It's not like this was a 7th round pick, something you can just play with. You should be able to hit on a high percentage of your 3rd rounders. There are quite a few guards left, some safeties, some corners. You take a guy like Wolfe, instead? And over Pittman et al? I don't understand it at all.
Edit: I disagree with this even more fundamentally. Look at how crucial many rookies were to that SB run -- Anderson, Hester, Manning were all central. We know some of our guys are going to disappoint. We aren't even sure about Benson's health. If he goes down, we'll be relying on Peterson and WOLFE? Oh, please, no. Treating your draft as if it's just gravy is a bad strategy, long and short-term. I'm not saying the Bears are doing that. Just that the thought that we were very good last year doesn't make me think that the rookies we draft can't make a difference in the success of the team this season.
