  1. I'm amazed we didn't take an offensive lineman at any point today.
  2. It's not like this was a 7th round pick, something you can just play with. You should be able to hit on a high percentage of your 3rd rounders. There are quite a few guards left, some safeties, some corners. You take a guy like Wolfe, instead? And over Pittman et al? I don't understand it at all. Edit: I disagree with this even more fundamentally. Look at how crucial many rookies were to that SB run -- Anderson, Hester, Manning were all central. We know some of our guys are going to disappoint. We aren't even sure about Benson's health. If he goes down, we'll be relying on Peterson and WOLFE? Oh, please, no. Treating your draft as if it's just gravy is a bad strategy, long and short-term. I'm not saying the Bears are doing that. Just that the thought that we were very good last year doesn't make me think that the rookies we draft can't make a difference in the success of the team this season.
  3. Nope, he's still there.
  4. The Michael Turner who's 3 inches taller and, what, 50 pounds heavier? That Michael Turner?
  5. ^^^^^ Ugh. That's a risk you take later in the draft, if at all.
  6. Could just be bad shellfish.
  7. Now they have to dump Moats. Be nice to get him for a low pick.
  8. I think he was asking if Wendling is gone, so the answer's no -- he's still on the board.
  9. I actually just checked to see if Wendling was gone yet.
  10. That sounds about right. It may allow the Bears to jettison Brown or Wale sometime in the future, but I wouldn't expect it to happen soon.
  11. From nfldraftcountdown: "Had somewhat of a down senior campaign but that was due in part to his dealing with the death of his brother as well as a hospital stay to treat a case of sepsis" Fwiw.
  12. Actually, nfldc has a pretty strong scouting report on him. I guess if you can't get Joe Staley, you get the guy Staley practiced against.
  13. I dislike the idea of taking a player just because there's a run on the position. I hope that's not what the Bears did.
  14. After the 2nd, it's 5 the rest of the way, iirc.
  15. Justin Fargas 2. Except he produced less with a worse average and gets drafted a round earlier. Makes perfect sense. I think he's gone.
  16. A lot of qbs going ahead of Edwards and Stanton.
  17. Not bad. Not robbery, but fair.
  18. We basically traded right back to our original second-rounder. Should be worth at LEAST a 2008 second-round pick. Probably more than that.
  19. Down to 62. Wow, what else did they get?
  20. No worries. In Jerry I trust.
  21. Blalock wouldn't be bad, either. Really hoped for Grubbs, though.
  22. It's not a surprise pick. A lot of people tabbed Gonzalez for the Colts as a Stokely replacement.
  23. Crap. I was hoping for Grubbs.
  24. Quinn on Sirius saying the Ravens called him, anticipating a trade up.
