  1. I want to say it's more like 3 years...
  2. Agreed. However, everything I've read is may as well be a McCaskey...
  3. An analogy is an analogy...I play no favorites!
  4. That's a lot. The stands and concessions will be fuller... WHo's going to attend that Cleveland game? Not doing anything is costing the McCaskey's money.
  5. Honestly, I think it was just time. Gould wanted a boat ton of money, was missing FG's four us, at the time, and was probably a locker room issue. I understand moving from him. What I don't understand is bringing in garbage to replace him. Barth is a guy you bring in when your kicker gets hurt. Not your #1. Why we didn't keep automatic Andy when he was in camp this season is stupid. He may even still be out there. But Heaven forbid we don't bring in a kicking has-been. This is not remotely on Fox. Many things are. This is on Pace. He bring in the talent, no?
  6. It's been widely reported throughout Chicago sources that Fangio doesn't want the job. The think the only viable candidate would be Donnatel. Which, I'd have no problem doing. If Fangio doesn't want to man up, next man up...
  7. C'mon, we both give a damn or wouldn't be debating! You may be right about the root of our woes. Which ultimately is that it's run by the McCaskey's. That said, a strange but good analogy is AIDS. McCasky's might be the AIDS virus, but Fox is penicillin in which the organism is having a very bad allergic reaction to. Yeah, ultimately AIDS is harming the overall health of the organism, but the allergic reaction isn't doing anyone any favors. Fox isn't the cure here. He's part of the problem now. What he did for other organisms in the past doesn't matter. What matters is the damage he's doing to this particular organism now. Solve the allergy issue, and the organism can still thrive. Looks at how well Magic Johnson is still doing. I believe I've been up front that I'm not blindly following anyone/anything other than the logo as long as it still resides in Chicago. I just hope. Hope that Pace gets it right this time.
  8. Wow... I'm not sure how to respond, but ultimately what you think of Fox is irrelevant. He will be gone. The question at hand is should Pace...and I think you've answered that with a yes. And I understand why. As to the Fox support, I can't fathom that. But, that's OK. Because it's semantics at this point.
  9. There is no way Fox and any of the coordinators are at minimum back next season. Hopefully, some get pink slips today... However, the bigger question now is does Pace get to choose the next or should he be bounced too? He's certainly made some hits and certainly some misses. I've personally come to the conclusion that I don't care either way. If he stays, he's shown enough to get one last chance to get it right. If he goes, so be it. He's made enough mistakes to warrant it. That said, if Pace goes, I want Sweatty Teddy put back on the calculator and hire a real president of football operations. I want a full clean. Hire the right man to hire the right men. Stop this consultant crap. It's grade school checkers. Time to play chess.
  10. Seems as such. My friend from SF swears the same. He does well when his cupboard is full of studs.
  11. I'm just not familiar with the players. But all I can say if there is a top 5 talent at LT...we draft him.
  12. I think I want Shaw, but I believe it'll be Shurmur... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pat_Shurmur Maybe a Cleveland fail isn't all bad! See NE...
  13. Give him one last shot... But, yes...big money needs to go elsewhere.
  14. It wasn't Cutler's fault either. He had no WR's...etc etc etc. There is just a time when it is time to move on. 3 seasons with his record here is enough. We aren't releasing a SB winning coach. We are letting Dan Reeves go. Thanks. Close, but no cigar. But, he was never close with us. He was close years ago in CAR and years ago with an epic D and a legendary potentially best ever QB in DEN. It's simply time for the next.
  15. Sorry, it's the old that was then this is now. No one's hiring Dan Reeves either. Game has passed them by. Fox's poor record over 3 seasons speaks to itself.
  16. Jackson is a rookie. Let's let him f up a bit... I want to see corrections.
  17. Maybe the players shouldn't make so many dumb mistakes and appear better prepared over the last 3 years if they wanted to keep him around... I suspect, players will always stick up for a "player's" coach, as Fox is rumored to be. The only coach I care about is a winning one...
  18. I basically agree. That was then, this is now. Then, sure. Now, hell no.

    Yuck

Day after, and I feel hungover. Not from actual drinking, but from the season already. Not that I watched the whole game...I bowed out when we went down by 21 to watch the Red Zone Channel. This team is done for the season. They are checked out. I don't think we beat SF. SF is fighting hard and have a better coaching staff than us. I think the only one we win is against the Browns. We go 4-12. That said, like the team, I'm a bit checked out. It's hard watching Tru struggle with bad play calling, stupid penalties and no talent around him. I'll still stick with it, but I literally wish there was a Madden "Simulate Rest of Season" button. We have some talent. We need more depth. We need more talent. We need much better coaches. We need legit starters whether in FA or the draft...at WR, OL, Pass Rusher, and DB. Depth, we need another RB, TE, MLBs. I think, overall, it's not a bad job to attract talent. Pace will get to hire his coach. With the idea that Tru has potential, that we have a D on an upward swing, and in a major market...the job should be enticing. And as a landing spot for FA, it should be enticing. I'd like a coach hired ASAP, and have them recruit talent. Not unlike what Smith did to get Peppers all those years ago. I'm just so over Fox & co... As long as they are in the building, there is virtually no reason to get excited or interested in anything. No progression will happen, only regression. That's another blemish on Pace. So, to me, he should be allowed on big chance to hire the rights guys...and then all bets are off.
