  1. The clip from the owner of the billborad off WGN was a good clip! I think he really summed it up nicely! Kudos to him for donating his billboard!
  2. Connor, I just read your post...you answered my question. Thanks!
  3. Really? Weren't those 2 clowns just making fun of everyone donating? Or was it just some random person putting his name on it?
  4. I have more faith in you than I do in our favorite team! Maybe we turn the corner on talkbears.com and start getting some press too (and ads and loot)! We should e-mail the guy running the advertisment and tell him to link to us!
  5. Looks like not all our former players aren't all that!
  6. Yep. I think, for his career, Mendy will be far better. He is a natural runner. Big and fast. It's not all in the OL. Forte is getting tackeld by showlaces. I'm not willing to give up on him yet, but I am super concerned. Hindsight is always 20-20...but as many here know, I clammored for Mendy something vicious. Last year, I looked the fool. Now, not so much. But it is a marathon, not a sprint. I hope Forte can win the marathon...as long as he's a Bear that is.
  7. As an accountant myself, that one makes me livid! Any fool and check a box off!
  8. I truly second that Pix. Hopefully it will be the catalyst to something bigger and better!
  9. I hear ya. They basically have no respect for anything that isn't involving themselves...
  10. Mike Holmgren joins the Browns Posted by Mike Florio on December 21, 2009 6:30 PM ET Former Packers and Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren was expected to give the Browns an answer on Monday regarding whether he'd accept an employment off from the team. He has given them an answer. And the answer is yes. Holmgren has agreed to become President of the team. Mike Keenan, who previously occupied that role, will become the team's CFO. "We are pleased to announce that Mike Holmgren has agreed to join the Cleveland Browns," owner Randy Lerner in a statement released by the team. "We will spend the rest of the week finalizing the details of the agreement and will make a formal announcement next week, at which time we will make him available to the media." We're not sure what Lerner envisions by way of a "formal announcement" next week, given that the news of Holmgren's arrival has been, you know, formally announced by the team. Maybe there will be a party, complete with confetti and cake and a special appearance by Eric the Clown. Which, of course, that might be the current head coach's trade name come 2010.
  11. Agreed. Why would these players want to get rid of the country club? All appear satisfied since their wallets were fattened by the guy they want to oust...
  12. Thanks for the info! I forgot the details...
  13. I pretty much agree about all but Urlacher. I just don't see it happening... I actually think we'd get better value for Briggs. And I really don't want to get rid of either guy.
  14. Unless it's another cover/Tampa-2 sycphant, I see marilelli tossed out as well. he hasn't done jack here, comes with the Lions baggage,etc... If you're a new DC, you want your men in there. You think those players will be gone or won't be gone? I severely doubt Urlacher will be gone. Url is still the face of the organization. At least the face that doesn't throw picks endlessly.
  15. I think we could have picked Mendenhall if we didn't trade our pick, no? My memory isn't great on that. Forte looked like a great pick last year. Salaam also looked pretty good his first year. There is the softomore slup...but I fear Forte isn't that great. i really stuck up for him last year as nfo was critical of his YPC. I now see his point vividly. I'm not quite willing to call him a bust, but I would have picked Rice over Forte... Forte wasn't even my radar. (note: my radar isn't all that...)
  16. Agreed. I only listen becasue I can't stream ESPN without paying for it.
  17. Another great JA pick? Should have been Rice or Mendenhall...
  18. You're far too kind... I fear JA... Too many errors. 1. Not checking the box and missing out on a pick early in his tenure here 2. Too many draft reaches 3. Too many draft busts 4. Too many bad FA pick-ups and let-go's 5. Signing off on the Smith contract extention 6. Allowing Smith to hire bozos 7. Allowing Smith to play musical chairs with players and putting them in the wrong positions I feel that for every good move, he's done a bad move. To me that's just mediocre. I think we could do better. I'd settle for JA to make a strong move and bring in a Cowher or Shanaham, etc... But, I'm not sure that's waht will be done.
  19. B&B on the Score are of course poo-pooing the idea. I think it's a bold move by fans.
  20. Well, they certainly are getting some press!
  21. May I also recommend that if you donate to bearsfansunited, please consider the Walter Payton Cacner Fund. I have donated $34 to somewhat balance my donation to the bearsfansunited site. http://www.payton34.org/
  22. Interesting. I've been listening on line... I think JA needs to make the power play and axe Smith. If not, he's definitley gone as well. If not this year, then in the next few... Bringing in a real coach could save Angelo's career here. If I were him, I'd do it today.
